Release Date Locked For Superstar Mohanlal's Pan India Movie 'Lucifer 2'

Kochi, November 1 - Malayalam superstar Mohanlal and actor-filmmaker Prithviraj Sukumaran reunited for the sequel to their mega-blockbuster film Lucifer. The second instalment of this political action thriller was titled Lucifer 2: Empuraan (L2E) and is one of the biggest Malayalam movies in the making. ## Over the last few months, there have been speculations about the film's release date and now on November 1, the makers officially confirmed that Prithviraj Sukumaran's directorial would hit the big screens on March 27, 2025, in Malayalam, Telugu, Hindi, Kannada, and Tamil languages. ## The film is produced by Aashirvad Cinemas and Lyca Productions and stars Mohanlal as Khureshi-Ab'raam / Stephen Nedumpally, reprising his role from the original. It also features an ensemble cast of Prithviraj Sukumaran, Manju Warrier, Tovino Thomas, Indrajith Sukumaran, Saniya Iyappan, Arjun Das, Saikumar, Baiju Santhosh, Suraj Venjaramoodu, Fazil, and Sachin Khedekar.## The original Lucifer was released in 2019 and emerged as one of the biggest Malayalam blockbusters of all time. Mumbai, October 2 - The year 2024 has been super successful for the Malayalam cinema, and one of the standout films to come out from the Mollywood industry has been megastar Mammootty's period folk horror Bramayugam. ## Directed by Rahul Sadasivan, Bramayugam received extremely positive reviews from critics upon its release in February this year. It is now ranked as one of the best horror movies of 2024 (so far) by Letterboxd, an online social cataloging service for films. ## According to the average Letterboxd member rating, Bramayugam is the second-best horror movie of 2024, behind The Substance, an international co-production between the United Kingdom, the United States and France (as of October 1st). ## Bramayugam is the only Indian horror movie of the year to feature in the Letterboxd's top 10 movies. Kochi, August 27 - Amid the sexual harassment allegations, the Malayalam superstar has regained as the president of the Association of Malayalam Movie Artists (AMMA). Along with him, all the members of the executive committee submitted their joint resignation. ## "AMMA has decided to disperse the executive committee on moral grounds in the light of allegations made by some actors against some of the committee members. Kochi, July 14 - One of the highest-grossing Malayalam movies of all-time, Aadujeevitham - The Goat Life starring Prithviraj Sukumaran, has finally locked the streaming day after more than 100 days of its theatrical release on March 28. ## Directed by National Award-winning filmmaker Blessy, Aadujeevitham will make its streaming debut on Netflix on July 19, in Malayalam, Hindi, Telugu, Kannada, and Tamil languages, after 113 days of the theatrical run. ## Aadujeevitham was originally supposed to lock a deal with Disney+Hotstar which has been a frequent collaborator for Malayalam movies, but the deal didn't materialize due to some reasons before Netflix grabbed the streaming rights for all versions.## Earlier, the survival thriller ended its box office run as the third highest-grossing Malayalam film of all time at the worldwide box office with approximately 157.50+ crores gross which includes 98 crores gross in India and 59.50 crores overseas collection. ## The movie is an adaptation of the 2008 best-selling Malayalam novel Aadujeevitham by Benyamin, which is based on the real-life story of Najeeb, a Malayali immigrant labourer, one among thousands of Indians who were forced into slavery in Saudi Arabia as goatherds on secluded farms in the deserts by the native Arabs.## Stay tuned...

Directed and headlined by Mohanlal, the movie is based on the novel Barroz: Guardian of D'Gama's Treasure by Jijo Punnoose. ## On Monday (May 6), Mohanlal took to social media to announce that Barroz will be hitting worldwide theatres on September 12, 2024, on the occasion of the Onam festival. It will be the actor's next release since Malaikottai Vaaliban in January this year. ## Produced by Aashirvad Cinemas, Barroz has been in the making since 2021. The movie was initially planned for a March 2023 release before it was postponed to Onam 2023. Kochi, April 19 - Malayalam cinema's biggest ever romantic-comedy blockbuster Premalu will get a sequel for 2025 release, the makers officially announced during the success meet on April 19. ## Girish AD, who wrote and directed the original, will be returning to helm the sequel along with the lead pair of Naslen and Mamitha Baiju. Bhavan Studios in association with Fahadh Faasil and Friends and Working Class Hero will produce it. ## Premalu is the fifth highest-grossing Malayalam movie of all time at the worldwide box office.
