Thalapathy Vijay's 'The Greatest of All Time' OTT Rights Sold To Netflix For 110 Crore: Report

Chennai, May 23 - Thalapathy Vijay's science fiction action drama The Greatest of All Time post-theatrical digital rights reportedly sold to Netflix for a massive sum of 110 crores, according to a report by Only Kollywood. ## Directed by Venkat Prabhu, The GOAT is easily one of the most anticipated Tamil films of the year and it is expected to set the box office on fire. Thalapathy Vijay's films have also attracted massive viewership on digital platforms and GOAT is expected to repeat the same despite non-direct OTT release. ## Netflix has been the home of many South Indian films after their theatrical releases and has paid huge prices for the same. The streamer acquired the post-theatrical rights of The GOAT for Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, and Hindi languages. ## Apart from OTT rights, the satellite rights of The Greatest Of All Time have reportedly been bagged by Zee Network for 90 crores, making it a 200 crore deal for OTT+TV rights. ## Produced by AGS Entertainment, The GOAT stars Vijay in dual roles, leading an ensemble cast which includes Prashanth, Prabhu Deva, Ajmal Ameer, Meenakshi Chaudhary, Sneha, Mohan, Laila, and Jayaram, in key roles. Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, the movie hasn't been officially announced yet but has been the talk of the town for various reasons. ## Recently, social media was buzzing with rumours that the production of Ramayana has been stalled due to a legal copyright infringement issue. This is not the first time that the project has been hit by negativity but this has been happening more frequently for the last few weeks. ## While it is true that the movie is having legal issues, the rumours of halting the production are baseless as according to Bollywood Hungama, one of the actors from the movie said that the shooting was not halted for even a day and the team is shooting as he spoke.## Meanwhile, recently, it was reported that Ramayana would now be a two-part project with simultaneous shooting for more than 350 days till December 2025. Mumbai, May 21 - Maddock Films has unveiled the teaser of their next film in the horror-comedy universe titled Munjya. Directed by Aditya Sarpotdar, the movie stars Sharvari Wagh, Abhay Verma, Mona Singh, and S. Sathyaraj in key roles. ## The teaser of Munjya is interesting as it features a peculiar creature, an all-new CGI actor who appears to have a special fondness for Malaika Arora's 2011 hit track Munni Badnam Hui in Dabangg. The movie promises another unique experience in the horror-comedy universe which has set the bar high with each film. ## The one-minute-23-second-long teaser begins in a dense forest and offers a glimpse into the world of Munjya, leaving audiences curious about the titular creature's relentless search for a mysterious Munni as he climbs one tree to another. He then enters a house where someone is watching Malaika Arora's Munni Badnam Hui music video on television. ## The makers called the film, the perfect blend of comedy and horror to beat the summer heat for Gen Z, kids, and the whole family. It is the 4th film in the horror comedy universe, after Stree, Roohi, and Bhediya. Kochi, May 21 - On the occasion of superstar Mohanlal's birthday today, the makers have unveiled the new poster from the big-budget political action thriller film L2: Empuraa, directed by Prithviraj Sukumaran who also plays a key role in the movie. ## Empuraan is the sequel to the blockbuster Lucifer (2019) and is currently the biggest Malayalam movie in the production. The new poster shows Mohanlal looking stylish in an all-black ensemble and a pair of black sunglasses. Mumbai, May 20 - Bollywood young action star Tiger Shroff is set to headline filmmaker Karan Johar's big-budget entertainer. The duo has been in talks for a long for a possible collaboration and things are finally falling into place. ## According to the report by Pinkvilla, Tiger and Karan have zeroed in on something very exciting after discussing several scripts over the last couple of years. Karan's Dharma Production will bankroll the film for which the official announcement will be made within a month. ## "It's of course an entertainer to be made on a lavish scale, but, the character is unlike anything Tiger has done over the last 10 years", says the report. The director's name has been kept under wraps for now. ## The film in question will be Tiger's first since the Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, co-starring Akshay Kumar, which was released in April this year. Kamal Haasan's 'Indian 2' Official Release Date Locked

Chennai, May 19 - Legendary superstar Kamal Haasan's vigilante action Indian 2 will be hitting worldwide cinemas on July 12, 2024, in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Malayalam, and Kannada, the makers have officially confirmed the new date. ## Directed by S. Shankar, Indian 2 was supposed to be released in June but has now been postponed due to the delay in post-production work. It is the sequel to Haasan and Shankar's Indian (1996) which was a huge blockbuster at the box office. ## The new release date of Indian 2 comes with the announcement of the first single which will be out on May 22. It is an Anirudh musical and is expected to set the stage for the film leading to its release date in July. ## Produced by Lyca Productions, the movie stars Kamal Haasan reprising his role as Senapathy, an ageing freedom fighter turned vigilante who fights against corruption and has an ensemble supporting cast including Siddharth, Kajal Aggarwal, Rakul Preet Singh, S.
