Mumbai, February 2 - Bollywood star Alia Bhatt is all set to headline Yash Raj Films' first female-led-Spy Universe film. The actress will be playing the role of a super agent in the action-packed thriller alongside Sharvari Wagh who also made the Spy Universe debut. ## Now, according to the reports, Aditya Chopra-headed YRF has locked director Shiv Rawail to helm this much-awaited film. Rawail recently directed YRF's debut web series "The Railway Man" which scored critical acclaim and was also a successful venture for Netflix. ## The yet-untitled Spy movie will mark Rawail's feature film debut, however, he had previous stints as assistant director on Yash Raj Films productions "Dhoom 3", starring Aamir Khan, and "Fan", starring Shah Rukh Khan. ## "Shiv's debut directorial for YRF, ‘The Railway Men,’ is a humongous hit and he is the talk of the town today. He is young and has a brilliant pulse on what the youth would want to consume as entertainment as is evident with the global success that he has delivered under the guidance of Aditya Chopra. Mumbai, February 1 - Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar and director Priyadarshan have worked together on six films in the past and all of them hold a special place in Indian cinema. The duo is now set to reunite and the fans are excited about this long-awaited collaboration. ## It was revealed in 2022 that Priyadarshan is working on a script to reunite with Akshay and now, the filmmaker has shared some major updates regarding the same. Contrary to the rumours, the film is not a sequel or remake though it is a horror comedy, different from Bhool Bhulaiyaa. ## "My film with Akshay is not a remake. It is an original idea. The script is not mine; it was given to me by Ekta Kapoor (producer). It is not Bhool Bhulaiyaa, but it will be a horror comedy, in the fantasy horror zone, as horror can never be real. We are going on floors in October (2024)", Priyadarshan said (via TOI). ## The filmmaker further revealed that he found the script offered by Ekta Kapoor very exciting. He also talked about Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, which was a sequel to his blockbuster film in 2007 with Akshay Kumar. Mumbai, February 1 - Filmmaker Rohit Shetty's cop action drama series Indian Police Force which marks his digital debut, is the most-watched Indian web series on Amazon Prime Video in its first week of launch, the streamer said (via Variety). ## The series, created and directed by Rohit Shetty and Sushwanth Prakash, was released on January 19. While the viewership data were not revealed by the streamer, it trended in the Top 10 titles list in 65 countries in the first week. It is set in the Cop Universe and is produced by Shetty under the banner of Rohit Shetty Picturez and Reliance Entertainment.## Rohit Shetty added, "My fans have loved my cop films over the years, and it gives me immense joy to transport my craft of storytelling and action filmography to the world of streaming through ‘Indian Police Force'. The film failed to provide a memorable launch pad for Suhana, and it looks like she will have to wait a bit longer to taste the success. ## According to the latest reports, SRK has put "The King", in which he was supposed to play an extended role, on hold as it is said that he isn't keen on his daughter being subjected to unfair comparisons to the superstar, especially after "The Archies". SRK himself is looking to play larger-than-life roles after the king of success he has had in the last year in the form of "Pathaan", "Jawan", and "Dunki". ## "I don’t think that project is happening, not after The Archies. Hyderabad, January 30 - Telugu cinema will be on a roll in the next couple of years with back-to-back Pan India biggies lined up for the release. In 2023, some of the biggest Tollywood stars will be in action with films that are some of the most anticipated ones among the nationwide audiences. ## The trade is quite optimistic about the upcoming Pan-Indian films regarding their box-office prospects, however, projections are split as far as their overseas business is concerned. According to the latest reports in Tollywood media, the overseas rights of Devara, Game Changer, Vishwambhara, and OG are locked. ## Jr. NTR-led "Devara" is easily one of the biggest Telugu films that reunited him with director Koratala Siva. The film was scheduled to release on April 5 this year but has now reportedly been postponed to a new date. It is said that Hamsini Entertainment has acquired the overseas theatrical rights of the film for 27 crores. The movie is expected to be released in August this year. ## Jr. NTR's "RRR" co-star Ram Charan teamed up with director Shankar for a political action drama film titled "Game Changer". The movie has been in production since 2022 but the shoot got delayed due to Shankar's other commitments. The makers are now planning to release the film in September this year. ## According to reports, the overseas theatrical rights of "Game Changer" have been bagged by Phars Films for 23 crores. The overseas business of the movie got hit by the continuous delay but it is expected to fetch good business for the domestic market. ## Megastar Chiranjeevi teamed up with director Mallidi Vassishta for a socio-fantasy film titled "Vishwambhara". The makers recently released a concept first look teaser which instantly caught the attention of the fans. The movie is carrying a very good buzz among the audiences as well as the trade and as a result, it fetched a good overseas deal. As per reports, Sarigama Cinemas acquired the overseas rights of Vishwambhara for 18 crores which is very good business. It will be released on Sankranthi 2025. ## Action drama "OG", starring superstar Pawan Kalyan, is another big Telugu film in production. Directed by Sujeeth, the movie is shaping up to be the biggest film in Pawan Kalyan's career and there is genuine curiosity among the fans. Phars Films is said to have acquired the overseas rights of it for 18 crores. Mumbai, January 27 - Hrithik Roshan's Fighter, after the big jump of around 75% on Republic Day, shows a very good hold in the collection on Saturday/third day. The movie did well to beat the opening day numbers and beat them comfortably. ## The film needed to score above the first-day collection and try to reach around thirty crores net which it has done as early estimates suggest the third-day collection in the range of 28 crores net (final collection may vary on either side depending on single screens). The movie has a jump of around 25% over the first day. ## The total collection of the movie is around 90 crores net in three days and it is set to enter 100 crores net club by tomorrow, on Sunday (4th day). The 4-day weekend is expected to be around 125 crores net which is a very good collection after the underwhelming start. ## Fighter is best performing in urban areas while mass centers are also showing improvement due to positive word of mouth. The real test of the film will be on Monday which will give a better look at how good WOM is.
