Prasanth Varma Announces Female-Led Superhero Movie 'Mahakali' In PVCU

Hyderabad, October 10 - Director Prasanth Varma soared to the limelight after his directorial Hanuman emerged as a massive box-office blockbuster with around 300 crores gross collection. Starring Teja Sajja, Hanuman was the first movie in Prasanth Varma Cinematic Universe, a superhero franchise. After Hanuman, Varma recently announced the second movie in PVCU with Nandamuri Balakrishna's son, Mokshagna Teja. Wasting no time, the promising filmmaker has now announced the first female-led superhero movie in PVCU with an astonishing poster. The movie titled Mahakali is about Goddess Kali, an invincible warrior, the protector of the righteous, and the ultimate destroyer of evil. The film will be directed by a lady director, Puja Aparna Kolluru. It will be produced by Riwaz Ramesh Duggal under the banner of RKD Studios. Mahakali is written by Prasanth Varma, and this will be the third movie in Prasanth Varma Cinematic Universe. The movie was announced with a poster, showing a cosy moment between the girl and the tiger. The cast and other details are not revealed yet. 'Tumbbad' Re-Release Sets A Major Record On Book My Show

Mumbai, October 8 - Producer Sohum Shah's folk horror thriller Tumbbad has become a big success in its re-release run. After the dismal show upon its original release in 2018, the movie was re-launched on September 13 this year and since then it has managed to turn things upside down. ## Tumbbad has been re-writing history for a re-release title at the Indian box office. It has become the highest-grossing re-release movie in India by beating Thalapathy Vijay's Ghilli. Now, the movie has set a new record on the ticketing platform, Book My Show. ## Directed by Rahi Anil Barve, the movie has sold 1+ million tickets so far on BMS, making it the first re-release movie ever to achieve the feat. At the box office, it has grossed approximately 36 crores so far in 25 days.## Tumbbad was a box office flop in its original release, but thanks to the tremendous response to its repeat run, the movie has managed to overturn the verdict to emerge as a hit. Mumbai, October 8 - The trailer of director Rohit Shetty's cop action drama Singham Again has brought in record-breaking viewership for a Bollywood movie which is easily one of the most anticipated titles of the year. ## Starring Ajay Devgn in the title role, the Singham 3 trailer scored a massive 138+ million views across social media platforms which is the highest ever for a Bollywood movie trailer, according to the makers. It has surpassed views of Shah Rukh Khan-fronted Jawan. ## Singham Again scored 52 million views on YouTube and over 60+ million views on Instagram across multiple accounts in the first 24 hours. Mumbai, October 8 - The most anticipated Indian movie of 2025, Hrithik Roshan and Jr. NTR-fronted spy action thriller War 2 is nearing its compilation. The movie is being directed by Ayan Mukerji and it is said he has curated one of the craziest action spectacles. ## A large chunk of War 2 has already been shot across the globe, and according to the report by Pinkvilla, the team is now gearing up to shoot the climax portions with Hrithik and Jr. NTR in November for which the preparations are in full swing. ## "The pre-production is on at YRF to design the biggest climax block of all time featuring two of the biggest superstars – Hrithik Roshan and NTR Jr. While a part of the climax will be shot in Mumbai, a part of it shifts to another undisclosed location", says the report.## The climax portion of War 2 will reportedly be shot over 20 days, starting from November 1st week. Hrithik has already gotten into the pre-mode, following a certain health routine. Mumbai, October 7 - Filmmaker Karan Johar's Dharma Productions announced on Monday that it will stop pre-release screenings of its future movies. The studio, like many others, used to host media screenings a day or two before the release dates. ## Describing this decision as a crucial measure to preserve the excitement surrounding the movie-going experience, Dharma said in a statement shared with the media, "This decision has been difficult to make, however, we believe it's a necessary step in ensuring that every viewer, including our friends in the media, witness our stories as they were meant to be experienced".## "We believe it will help in maintaining the excitement of the cinematic experience for all", the statement reads. The studio, however, is not entirely stopping the media screening as it confirmed in the statement that going forward, the press screening of each movie will now be hosted in the first half of the release day. ## "We warmly welcome all media personnel to join us at these screenings, where you will be the first to witness our latest offerings. We value the relationship built with each one of you over the years and look forward to your continued cooperation", the statement adds.## Dharma's next movie is the action thriller Jigra, starring Alia Bhatt. Alia Bhatt, Sharvari Wagh's Spy Universe Film 'Alpha' Release Date Locked

Mumbai, October 4 - Yash Raj Film's blockbuster Spy Universe is getting its first solo female-led movie, titled Alpha. The movie was officially announced earlier this year with Alia Bhatt stepping into the world of spies with Sharvari Wagh. ## As the shoot of Alpha is happening at a brisk pace, YRF has locked one of the biggest release dates of this much-anticipated blockbuster. Directed by Shiv Rawail, Alpha will open in theatres on December 25, 2025, on the occasion of the Christmas festival. ## Alpha marks a significant shift for the action-packed YRF's Spy Universe series, which has previously centred on male protagonists. In the movie, Alia Bhatt plays the role of a RAW agent with Sharvari Wagh. It will also reportedly feature Hrithik Roshan along with Anil Kapoor. ## Alpha is the 7th movie in YRF Spy Universe and it will be released after the upcoming War 2, starring Hrithik Roshan and Jr. NTR. War 2 is scheduled to hit the big screens on August 14, 2025. Mumbai, October 4 - In a major surprise, producer Sajid Nadiadwala has officially announced the action comedy Kick 2, starring superstar Salman Khan. The sequel to 2014's blockbuster has been in the news for many years and has finally been confirmed. ## The movie was announced on October 4 with a first-look glimpse of Salman Khan's photoshoot for Kick 2. The photo shoot was done at the sets of Sikandar which is also being produced by Sajid Nadiadwala under the banner of Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment. ## The first look glimpse of Kick 2 shows Salman Khan facing the camera. This has come out of the blue and has surely raised excitement among the fans. It is, however, not yet confirmed if Sajid Nadiadwala will also return to direct the sequel. ## Meanwhile, the shoot of Sikandar is happening at a brisk pace. It is directed by A.R. Box Office: 'Devara: Part 1' First Thursday (Day 7) Early Estimates

Hyderabad, October 3 - Telugu superstar Jr. NTR's action drama Devara: Part 1 has enjoyed a superb collection so far in the first 6 days. The movie got a huge boost to its collection on Wednesday due to the Gandhi Jayanti national holiday. ## On its 7th day, the first Thursday, Devara is witnessing a drop of over 60% which was expected to some extent. In Telugu states, the movie is expected to gross in the range of 4.50-5 on its 7th day, as per estimates while in Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, and Kerala, gross collection is estimated to be in the range of 1.25-1.50 crores. ## After the good first 6 days, the North India belt has also witnessed a drop of around 70% as estimates suggest 2-2.50 crores gross collection in this region. The dubbed Hindi version is estimated to score 2-2.50 crores net collection on the first Thursday. ## Overall, Devara is expected to gross in the range of 8-9 crores in gross collection on its 7th day to conclude the first week with around 255 crores gross (223 crores net) in all versions which is a fantastic total.
