Directed by Buchi Babu Sana in his second outing after Uppena, the film stars Charan as a spirited villager who uses sports to bring his community together, with Janhvi Kapoor playing the lead female role. While there was plenty of interest in the project following the actor's previous success, the actual box office trend is showing a more measured pace as it transitions into the working week. After a solid opening weekend, Peddi has a good hold domestically on Monday, with early estimates suggesting around 14 crores gross collection. On Monday, it crossed 200 crores in India and became Ram Charan's second film after RRR to achieve the feat. Worldwide, the film has touched the 250 Crore mark, emerging as the actor's second highest-grossing film. While reaching this figure quickly is a notable benchmark for any major production, the momentum will need to remain very consistent to meet the high stakes involved with a project of this scale. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) The film is currently drawing a loyal audience in its primary markets, though its ability to sustain this across the upcoming weekdays will be the real test of its theatrical life. Examining the Monday data, the film earned approximately 14 Crore gross in India on its fifth day, which is around 55% per cent drop from the Friday earnings of 31.50 Crore. For a film occupying 8,000 shows nationwide, this growth is stable but perhaps less aggressive than what the initial buzz might have suggested. It indicates that while the core fan base is turning up, the broader mass appeal is still being established in several regions. To provide a clearer picture of the domestic performance, the total India gross collection now stands at around 169.75 Crore. When factoring in the gross amounts, the total India gross reaches 202 Crore. The Telugu market remains the primary driver of these numbers, while the contributions from other language versions are providing a necessary but slower build-up to the overall total. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) The international performance adds another layer to the analysis. On its fifth day, the film brought in an estimated 1 Crore from overseas markets, taking the total international gross to 47 Crore so far. This brings the worldwide gross collection for Peddi to 249 Crore. The overseas performance of the film is concerning as it is showing very faded momentum after the good opening day. On the contrary to international business, the domestic numbers are somehow good and driving the overall biz LIVE BLOG 10.00 PM (IST) 09 JUN 2026 Peddi Day 6 Live Update: Crosses 11 Crore Gross Peddi has crossed an estimated 11+ crore gross on its first Tuesday, which is a solid hold again. Peddi Box Office: Sports Action Drama Tops 200 Crore Worldwide And Becomes Ram Charan's Third Film To Do So

Hyderabad, June 7 - Superstar Ram Charan's sports action drama Peddi is continuing its solid run at the box office. After a thunderous opening day, the Buchi Babu Sana directorial has crossed the 200 crore mark at the worldwide box office on its 4th day, emerging as one of the fastest Telugu films to achieve the feat. The film had opened to an extraordinary 110 crore-plus worldwide gross on its first day, making it the second-biggest opener of Ram Charan's career after RRR. Strong collections from the Telugu states, Karnataka, North America, and other overseas markets helped the film maintain excellent momentum through its opening weekend. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) Ram Charan's Third 200 Crore Grosser With Peddi entering the 200 crore club, Ram Charan has now scored his third film to cross the milestone worldwide. The actor had previously achieved the feat with RRR and Rangasthalam. The latest success further strengthens his position among the biggest box-office stars in Telugu cinema. What makes Peddi's performance particularly significant is that it comes after the disappointing theatrical run of Game Changer. The strong response to the sports action entertainer has helped Ram Charan bounce back in a big way, with audiences embracing his rugged and intense portrayal of the titular character. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) Eyes Set On Bigger Milestones The film's immediate target is the 300 crore worldwide mark, which now appears well within reach if it maintains a healthy hold during the weekdays. The makers are optimistic about the long-term prospects of the film, especially considering the strong reception in Telugu-speaking markets and solid overseas support. Starring Ram Charan and Janhvi Kapoor in the lead roles, Peddi has emerged as one of the biggest Telugu box-office grossers of 2026 so far. The 4-day opening weekend is expected to be around 230 crores gross, but it will be important for the film to perform well in the weekdays, which will be crucial for its massive break-even target of around 500 crores gross.

Directed by Buchi Babu Sana, the big-budget Telugu entertainer has crossed the 150 crore mark worldwide within just two days of its theatrical release, emerging as one of the biggest openers of 2026. Peddi Crosses 150 Crore Worldwide (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) After a sensational opening day of over 100 crores gross, Peddi maintained a strong hold on its second day and took its worldwide gross collection to approximately 150+ crore. It crossed the 100 crore gross mark on the second day, with the Telugu-speaking states contributing the majority of its earnings. The film had opened to a massive 110.50 crore worldwide gross on day one, giving Ram Charan one of the biggest openings of his career. Despite the expected drop on the second day, the overall momentum remains strong heading into the weekend, as the film will be eyeing 275 crores 4-day opening frame globally. Buchi Babu Sana Addresses Criticism (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) While the box office numbers have been encouraging, Peddi has also sparked debate online over the portrayal of Janhvi Kapoor's character Achiyyamma and certain romantic scenes involving the lead pair. Every 100 Crore Telugu Opener Worldwide; Ram Charan's Peddi Joins Prabhas Dominated List

Hyderabad, June 5 - Superstar Ram Charan has added another major milestone to his career with Peddi. Directed by Buchi Babu Sana, the sports action drama stormed past the coveted 100 crore worldwide gross mark on its opening day, becoming the 11th Telugu film to achieve the feat. The film earned around 110 crore worldwide on Day 1, including more than 82 crore from India and approximately 28 crore from overseas markets. The 100 crores opening day achievement further cements Telugu cinema's dominance in the pan-Indian market, where event films have consistently delivered massive opening-day numbers over the last decade. What started with Baahubali 2 in 2017 has now become a benchmark for the industry's biggest releases. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) Prabhas Continues To Rule The List One of the most striking aspects of the elite club is the overwhelming presence of Pan India superstar Prabhas. The actor headlines six of the eleven films on the list, with Baahubali 2, Saaho, Adipurush, Salaar, Kalki 2898 AD, and The Raja Saab. No other Telugu actor, or say an Indian actor, comes close to matching that level of representation. Prabhas' consistent ability to deliver record-breaking openings across genres has made him the undisputed king of opening-day box-office records in Indian cinema. The remaining entries belong to some of the industry's biggest stars, including Ram Charan (RRR and Peddi), Jr NTR (RRR and Devara), Allu Arjun (Pushpa 2), and Pawan Kalyan (They Call Him OG). (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) ₹100 Crore Telugu Openers Worldwide (Highest to Lowest) Rank Movie Lead Actor(s) Opening Day Worldwide GBOC 1 Pushpa 2 Allu Arjun ₹ 275.00 Cr 2 RRR Jr. NTR / Ram Charan ₹ 223.00 Cr 3 Baahubali 2 Prabhas ₹ 217.00 Cr 4 Kalki 2898 AD Prabhas ₹ 177.70 Cr 5 Salaar Part 1 Prabhas ₹ 158.10 Cr 6 They Call Him OG Pawan Kalyan ₹ 144.00 Cr 7 Devara Jr. NTR ₹ 142.00 Cr 8 Saaho Prabhas ₹ 130.00 Cr 9 Adipurush Prabhas ₹ 127.50 Cr 10 Peddi Ram Charan ₹ 110.50 Cr 11 The Raja Saab Prabhas ₹ 100.60 Cr (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) A Major Milestone For Ram Charan For Ram Charan, Peddi marks a particularly significant achievement. While RRR had previously crossed the 100 crore worldwide opening-day mark, it was a multi-starrer alongside Jr NTR and backed by the massive brand value of director S. S. Rajamouli. Peddi becomes Charan's first solo-led film to enter the coveted club, proving his box office strength outside of franchise and multi-starrer setups. The opening also comes as a major boost for the actor following the disappointing theatrical performance of Game Changer earlier last year.

Outside the home market, Peddi's pre-release theatrical business in Karnataka has been valued at 17 crore, while the rest of the domestic market has been valued at 32+ crores, including 25 crores for the Hindi region. At the overseas box office, the makers have locked a 34 crore deal, which is among the highest for a Ram Charan starrer. The total worldwide business of Peddi is said to be around 220 crores, the second-highest (solo) for the RRR star, after Game Changer. Huge Break-Even Challenge (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) With such a massive valuation, Peddi faces a huge box office target. Also starring Janhvi Kapoor, Shiva Rajkumar, and Jagapathi Babu, with music composed by A. R. Rahman, Peddi is scheduled for a grand worldwide release on June 4, 2026. Trade analysts expect the film to register one of the biggest openings of the year and potentially challenge several existing Telugu box office records.

Prashanth Neel Confirms Salaar 2 After Jr. NTR's Dragon Before Stepping Into Mythological World

Mumbai, May 21 - Director Prashanth Neel has now clarified his upcoming plans, putting an end to speculation surrounding both Salaar: Part 2 – Shouryaanga Parvam and K.G.F: Chapter 3. In a recent interview, Neel had stated that Jr. NTR-fronted Dragon would be his final film in the post-independence hyper-stylised apocalyptic mass-action genre. The statement quickly sparked assumptions online that the filmmaker had dropped plans for both Salaar 2 and KGF 3. However, Neel has now cleared the air in his latest interaction with Variety. The filmmaker confirmed that Prabhas-led Salaar 2 will indeed be his next directorial venture after he completes Dragon. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) The filmmaker wants to finish and properly conclude the story established in the first Salaar film. The confirmation comes as a major relief for fans of Prabhas, whose character Deva and the world of Khansaar were set up for a much bigger conflict in the sequel. The first instalment ended on a dramatic cliffhanger, leaving several narrative threads unresolved. Speaking about KGF 3, Neel admitted that he currently does not know when he will be able to shift his focus toward the franchise again. While the future of Yash-fronted KGF remains open, the director suggested that other priorities are currently ahead in his lineup. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) One of those priorities is a mythological film series that Neel has reportedly been developing for nearly two decades. The filmmaker revealed that he wants to write and direct that ambitious project before taking up anything beyond his immediate commitments. For now, Neel's roadmap appears clear — complete Dragon with Jr. NTR, move directly into Salaar 2 with Prabhas, and eventually step into the mythological genre he has long dreamed of exploring.
