Hyderabad, February 3 - Directed Prasanth Varma's superhero movie Hanuman has created a record for a Telugu title. It has become the highest-grossing Telugu movie ever to release during the Sankranthi festival weekend. ## Starring Teja Sajja, Hanuman was released on January 12 and with glowing word of mouth, the film beats all other films released around it and eventually becomes the biggest Telugu grosser ever to debut during the particular festival. ## Hanuman has grossed around 270 crores at the worldwide box office as I type this, and has beaten superstar Allu Arjun's Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo which scored approximately 269 crores worldwide in 2020 to emerge the biggest Sankranthi blockbuster of all-time. ## Unlike Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo, Hanuman was released in multiple languages and apart from Telugu, the film is getting good dividends from Hindi. The movie has so far grossed approximately 215 crores at the domestic box office, including around 55 crores gross in the dubbed Hindi version. Mumbai, January 24 - Pan India superstar Prabhas-fronted action drama Salaar: Part 1 - Ceasefire scored a decent viewership on its Netflix debut after concluding the box office journey with over 600 crores gross worldwide. ## Directed by Prashanth Neel, "Salaar: Ceasefire" was made available to watch digitally on 20 January in South Indian languages, 28 days after the theatrical release. In the first two days, the movie scored 4.7 million viewing hours from 1.6 million views. ## It was the third most-watched non-English film worldwide on Netflix during the week of January 15 - January 21. While the numbers are decent, Netflix would have hoped for more considering the film's box-office performance. The viewership of "Salaar" is in the lines of any other mid-range Indian film on the streamer. ## "Salaar" is trending only in 4 countries in the top 10, including number 1 in India. Mumbai, January 22 - Director Prashanth Varma's superhero movie Hanuman has emerged as a big Sankranthi 2024 winner at the domestic and worldwide box office. The film not only surpassed bigger titles but is also on course to become the biggest Sankranthi winner ever in Telugu cinema. ## Hanuman was released on January 12 with superstar Mahesh Babu's action drama "Guntur Kaaram" which is a much bigger movie in terms of star power and scale. Hanuman overcame the initial obstacles to become the big blockbuster and eventually topped Guntur Kaaram at the domestic as well as the worldwide box office. ## Starring Teja Sajja in the lead role, Hanuman scored approximately 198 crores worldwide in the first 10 days, and with today's collection, it has crossed the 200 crore gross mark and becomes the first Indian movie of the year and first ever for director Varma and actor Teja to do so.## The movie, apart from its original Telugu version, has emerged as a success story in the dubbed Hindi version. The Trivikram Srinivas' directorial has done well during the festive season, despite the mixed word of mouth. ## Released on January 12, the Haarika & Hassine Creations' produced venture has managed to score approximately 157 crores at the worldwide box office in the first 7 days. In India, the movie has minted around 127 crores gross while the overseas collection is approximately 30 crores. ## Guntur Kaaram needs to hold decently in the coming days to emerge as a successful venture which is now looking very much possible. After the second day, on which the collection dropped by around 70%, the break-even target was looking difficult but the festive season helped the movie to find stability and now, it is in a much better position at the box office. ## Director Prashant Varma's superhero movie Hanuman is giving tough competition to Guntur Kaaram and it will soon overtake the latter at the worldwide box office. Hyderabad, January 15 - Netflix has acquired the post-theatrical streaming rights of some of the biggest Telugu Pan-Indian films in 2024 and beyond. The streamer has been putting efforts to make a mark in the Indian digital space and its upcoming South Indian slate is the first major push. ## The biggest film Netflix has acquired is the upcoming Pan India movie Pushpa - The Rule. Starring superstar Allu Arjun, the action drama film is scheduled to release theatrically on August 15, 2024, in multiple languages and it is likely to be available on Netflix after an 8-week theatrical window in Telugu, Hindi, Malayalam, Kannada, and Tamil. ## Superstar Jr. NTR's action drama Devara - Part 1, directed by Koratala Siva, is another big Telugu Pan India film acquired by Netflix after its theatrical release, which is on April 5. The movie, just like Pushpa 2, is expected to be ready to stream after 8 weeks of the theatrical window in Telugu, Hindi, Malayalam, Kannada, and Tamil. ## Director Prashanth Neel and superstar Prabhas' Salaar: Part 1 - Ceasefire, which was released during Christmas 2023 weekend, will also be streaming on Netflix soon. The movie has emerged as a big box office success with a worldwide gross collection of over 600 crores. Netflix will stream it in Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, and Tamil language. ## The line-up also includes Vijay Deverakonda's untitled action drama film VD 12, directed by Gowtam Tinnanuri. The theatrical release date of the movie is not locked yet. In India, the movie has minted 47+ crores gross (including 5 crores previews) while the overseas collection is approximately 25 crores. ## The Hindi dubbed version of the film is a big surprise at the box office. Among the Sankranthi 2024 Telugu releases, it has the third-highest worldwide theatrical business with 25 crores. ## In two Telugu states (Andhra Pradesh and Telangana), the film scored 19 crores in business, including 7 crores in Nizam.
