Mumbai, June 16 - Yash Raj Films' mega movie War 2, which will be directed by Ayan Mukerji, is getting bigger on the casting front. ## Earlier, this year, it was revealed that Telugu superstar Jr. NTR will be making his Bollywood as well as YRF's Spy Universe debut with "War 2" and will join Hrithik Roshan in the lead role. Now, the makers have roped in Kiara Advani to play one of the female leads in the film. ## Aditya Chopra and Ayan Mukerji believe that Kiara Advani fits for the role she has been chosen for as far as Spy Universe and War 2 are concerned. Adipurush Sells Over 1 Million Tickets In Advance For The Opening Day

Mumbai, June 15 - One of the most anticipated Indian films of the year, Adipurush is finally hitting big screens tomorrow in multiple languages. The movie, based on the epic Ramayana, is directed by Om Raut and stars Prabhas as Lord Rama, Kriti Sanon as Sita, and Saif Ali Khan as Raavan, among others in key roles. ## "Adipurush" is the major attempt to adapt Ramayana and it seems that the Indians are eager to experience this epic on the big screen which is clearly visible in the pre-booking. The advance booking of the movie was opened on Sunday (June 11) and since then, the response to pre-sales has been exceptional. ## The movie has sold over 1 million tickets in advance for all versions, and becomes the second Indian movie of the year to score this much sales after "Pathaan". The advance tickets sold are around 1.2 million (not counting block seats), which is the highest this year. ## The Hindi version of the movie has sold around 500K, which is short of "Brahmastra: Part 1" (600K tickets). The Telugu version has sold around 700K advance tickets and the other versions have seen low advance booking. ## "Adipurush" is expected to score 100-110 crores gross domestic opening in all versions which will be the highest this year and third biggest post the covid-19 pandemic for an India title. Mumbai, June 14 - Director Sudipto Sen's drama film The Kerala Story is nearing its end at the box office but it has done more than what was asked for. The movie has emerged as one of the biggest blockbusters of all time with its phenomenal collection. ## Starring Adah Sharma, "The Kerala Story" has crossed the 300 crores mark at the global box office, and becomes only the 2nd Bollywood movie of the year to do so. It has so far grossed approx. 302 crores, including approx. 15.50 crores overseas box office in 49 days. ## At the domestic box office, TKS grossed around 286.50 crores (including 3 crores of Telugu version) to date, which is the second biggest for a Bollywood movie this year after Shah Rukh Khan's "Pathaan". Post the covid-19 pandemic, TKS is 5th Bollywood film to breach the 300 crores mark at the worldwide box office. ## Produced by Vipul Amrutlal Shah of Sunshine Pictures, TKS is made on a budget of just 15-20 crores and it is one of the rarest Indian movies ever to gross over 300 crores with such low budget. Vivek Agnihotri's "The Kashmir Files" also did the same when it was released last year. ## "The Kerala Story" follows a group of women from Kerala who are coerced into converting to Islam and joining the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS). Box Office: 'Adipurush' To Emerge The Biggest Opener For An Indian Movie of 2023

Mumbai, June 15 - The stage is set for superstar Prabhas-fronted magnum opus Adipurush which releases this Friday (June 16) in multiple languages. The Om Raut's directorial has been one of the most anticipated Indian movies and it is expected to emerge as one of the biggest hits of the year. ## The advance booking of the film was opened on Sunday (June 11) in Hindi while the Telugu booking started yesterday (June 14). The response to the pre-booking has been excellent so far, especially in the Telugu version which is witnessing houseful shows across Telugu states.## As reported earlier, "Adipurush" is all set to emerge as the biggest Indian opener of the year, beating Shah Rukh Khan's "Pathaan" which scored 67 crores gross collection in all languages in January. "Adipurush" is expecting 100-110 crores gross at the domestic box office in all versions. ## The Telugu version of the movie is projected to score around 55-65 crore gross while the Hindi version, which will be key for the film's overall success, is expected to open around 35-40 crore gross number. The other versions are likely to fetch 5-10 crores on the opening day. ## Talking about the Hindi collection of "Adipurush", the advance booking trend indicates, at least, 25-30 crores net on day 1. Since the movie is the cinematic adaptation of Ramayana, the spot booking of the film should be strong due to the family audiences and this could make it an easy 30+ crores net starter in Hindi. Mumbai, June 14 - Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar reunites with his "Rustom" director Tinu Suresh Desai for a rescue thriller film which has been titled The Great Indian Rescue. ## The film is based on a mining engineer Jaswant Singh Gill, who rescued 64 miners at the Raniganj Coalfields in 1989. It is a detailed adaptation of the incident in which Akshay Kumar plays the role of Jaswant Singh Gill while Parineeti Chopra features as the female lead. ## On Wednesday (June 14), the makers confirmed the release date of "The Great Indian Rescue". Contrary to the rumors, the movie will be released in theaters on October 5, 2023. It has been one of the most-awaited films due to its subject and solid star cast. ## Produced by T-Series, Retrophiles, and UV Creations, "Adipurush" is based on the epic Ramayana, and stars Prabhas, Kriti Sanon, Saif Ali Khan, Sunny Singh, and Devdutt Nage, among others in key roles. The movie has been certified with a "U" certificate by CBFC with the approved runtime of 2 hours and 59 minutes.## As reported earlier, "Adipurush" will release on over 6200 screens in India, including over 4000 screens for the Hindi version only. The advance booking for the same was opened a couple of days and the response so far is very good for the Hindi version which is key for the film's overall success.## The advance booking trend of the "Adipurush" Hindi version is better than SS Rajamouli's "RRR" which scored around 7 crores pre-sales for the opening day. In comparison, "Adipurush" so far has scored around 6 crores with still 1 day to go for the release. The second film in the franchise was directly released on OTT in 2021 and won high critical acclaim though many felt it should have been a theatrical release.## The "Drishyam" franchise eventually got a Hindi remake and the second film, unlike the Malayalam version, was released in theaters and emerged as one of the biggest Indian blockbusters of 2022. Now, the makers are gearing up for its third installment. ## In November last year, it was revealed that the makers of Hindi and Malayalam versions of the "Drishyam" series are working on its third installment and it was also revealed that both versions will be shot simultaneously. ## According to Pinkvilla, "Drishyam 3" has gotten into the development stage and it is proving to be a collaboration between the creators in Hindi and Malayalam. Abhishek Pathak, who directed the Hindi version of "Drishyam 2", and his team of writers have cracked a basic core plot for Drishyam 3, which Jeethu Joseph, the Malayalam version of "Drishyam" director, and his team loved. ## In quite an achievement for the team of the Hindi version, Jeethu Joseph and his team have taken the idea for "Drishyam 3" from the team of Hindi Drishyam and are now working towards developing it into a screenplay for the next installment. ## As said, both versions will be shot simultaneously and the makers planning to release both movies on the same date to avoid any spoilers. While Kerala will see the release in Malayalam with Mohanlal as Goerge Kutty, the rest of India will get to see the journey of Ajay Devgn as Vijay Salgaonkar.## "Drishyam 3" will be the final film in the franchise and it is going to be exciting for the audiences to know its conclusion. Mumbai, June 13 - Superstar Prabhas-fronted Adipurush is having a good response in advance booking collection, domestically and overseas. In India, the movie already has sold over 150K tickets for the opening day and is looking to score one of the biggest pre-sales by the time it releases. ## While the epic drama was expected to have good pre-sales in India, it is also seeing encouraging responses in the key international markets. In the USA, it has so far scored approx. $800K (6.60 crores) with 42K advance tickets sold for the opening day, including premiere.## In Australia, the pre-sales for the opening day is approx. A$150K (83 lacs) so far while in the UK, the pre-sales are around £55K (50 lacs) and around €5K (4.5 lacs) in Germany. In Canada, the advance booking sales so far are around $30K (25 lacs). ## Talking about the USA, "Adipurush" is expected to score $1+ million through the premiere. It scored a very good jump after the XD shows got opened. His next big screen release is Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff-fronted "Bade Miyan Chote Miyan" which is slated for Eid 2024. ## Meanwhile, the filmmaker may have been away from theaters, but he wasn't away from filmmaking during these last couple of years. He came up with three OTT titles, including the recently released "Bloody Daddy" with Shahid Kapoor. ## "Bloody Daddy" was directly released on Jio Cinema and got mixed responses from the viewers. However, the movie left the director's core audiences asking if the movie could have a theatrical release and if there could be a sequel to it. ## During a recent interview with Hindustan Times, Ali Abbas Zafar said that "It's a big compliment when people watch your content and say it's a big-screen experience", however, he cleared that the movie was always going to be an OTT release since it deals with rough scenes which were important for its storytelling. ## The filmmaker further said that he would love to make a sequel to "Bloody Daddy" if the audience feels associated with the characters for a long time. "People have to be talking about it six months or a year after the release. Then it's a validation that the film and the character have stayed with the audience". He said that if the sequel is made, he will try to make it as a theatrical release.## Ali Abbas Zafar also revealed that he has completed principal photography of "Bade Miyan Chote Miyan" and has started editing the film. According to Pinkvilla, director Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra is in advanced talks with Tamil superstar Suriya to play this larger-than-life role. ## It is said that Suriya and Mehra already had multiple meetings and things are moving in the right direction quickly. The movie will be made in two parts and Suriya is said to be super excited to be a part of this magnum opus project. ## The film is expected to go on floors in 2024 after Suriya completes director Siva's Pan India movie "Kanguva" which is nearing its completion and Sudha Kongara's next which is expected to go on floors later this year.
