Yash Raj Films Changes The Title of Akshay Kumar's Prithviraj To Samrat Prithviraj

Mumbai, May 27 - Yash Raj Films has agreed to change the title of Akshay Kumar-fronted magnum opus, Prithviraj to Samrat Prithviraj. The decision of changing the title is taken after Karni Sena objected to it and decided to not let the movie screen. ## The producers have reportedly written a letter to the national president, youth president, and the Maharashtra president of the Shri Rashtriya Rajput Karni Sena on Friday to convey their decision that the film has now been titled Samrat Prithviraj.## It is reported that Karni Sena has no objection to the story of the film and had reportedly given a green signal after watching it. However, they asked Yash Raj Films to change the title of Prithviraj and add 'Samrat' to it, to which YRF has agreed. ## Written and directed by Chandraprakash Dwivedi, Samrat Prithviraj is based on Prithviraj Raso, a Braj language epic poem about the life of Prithviraj Chauhan, a Rajput king from the Chahamana dynasty. Akshay plays the title role while Manushi Chhillar makes her Hindi film debut playing the role of Sanyogita. Israeli Director Rotem Shamir On-board To Helm Afghan Rescue Film 'Garud'

Mumbai, May 27 - Israeli director Rotem Shamir is all set to make his Indian debut with the upcoming Hindi Bollywood film on the Afghan rescue crisis, Garud. Shamir is best known for his hit series Fauda and Hostages. ## Inspired by real events, Garud presents a fictionalized depiction of the rescue mission in Afghanistan, based on the story of an officer in the Garud Commando Force, a special forces unit of the Indian Air Force. Ajay Kapoor, who jointly bankrolled John Abraham's Attack: Part 1, will be producing "Garud" with Subhash Kale. ## Shamir said in a statement, "Garud is a very exciting film, while it is focused on the Indian aspect of the story, it has a universal appeal that promises to connect with people all across. I have been fascinated with the content from the Indian entertainment industry for a long time, hence when Ajay Kapoor brought this film to me, I knew I had to take it. Mumbai, May 26 - Producers Bhushan Kumar and Murad Khetani are looking to explore more of the character of Kabir Singh, played by Shahid Kapoor. The producers are currently enjoying the success of Kartik Aaryan and Kiara Advani-fronted Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, which has given much-needed relief to the Hindi film industry. ## Kabir Singh, which is the official remake of 2017's Telugu movie, Arjun Reddy, was a massive box office blockbuster upon its release in June 2019. It grossed over 370 crores worldwide and became an all-time blockbuster. The movie ended on a happy note with the reunion of Kabir Singh and Preeti (Kiara Advani), and the makers think that there is so much more to the character of Kabir Singh to turn it into a franchise. ## During an interview with Pinkvilla, when asked about the projects which they think should be a franchise, Bhushan Kumar said, "I think, our film Kabir Singh can definitely be spun into a franchise. It's an iconic character and can be taken into a second part". Despite taking fewer days as compared to his contemporary, Akshay remains the most versatile actor who has performed every character with perfection.## Akshay is now gearing up for the release of magnum opus "Prithviraj", which he shot his portion in just 42 days. Being a historical action drama film, many believe that Akshay should have taken more days to complete his part and that he is not dedicated to the character. ## During a recent interview with Firstpost, Akshay talked about completing the movie in such a short period and said that became possible because of the well-planned strategy of the director and his research of the character. ## "Talking about finishing films early, do you know how much time Tom Cruise completed Mission Impossible which is one of the biggest action films? He wrapped up in only 53 days because the director had done his homework well. He knew that he required the hero for so long. Prithviraj was shot for about 110 days and with me, they shot for 42-43 days. Nothing was wasted, every shot of mine is there in the film", he said. ## "Prithviraj" is based on the life of Samrat Prithviraj Chauhan and it is helmed by Dr. Chandraprakash Dwivedi under the production banner of Yash Raj Films. There is one more film going to find its place on his hit list Kartik Aaryan's "Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2". ## The sequel to Priyadarshan's 2007's horror-comedy featuring Akshay Kumar in the lead, "Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2" opened last Friday and took the biggest opening for Kartik and went on to register a blockbuster weekend with Rs 55+ crores. The success of BB2 is winning praise for Bazmee who has delivered another hit despite the difficult circumstances for the industry. ## The director will now be moving to another sequel to his superhit film "No Entry" (2005). Salman Khan, Anil Kapoor, and Fardeen Khan will be returning as the lead trio and the shooting for the same will commence later this year. Meanwhile, Bazmee has also confirmed the development of the Hindi remake of the Telugu hit comedy "F2: Fun and Frustration" for producer Boney Kapoor. ## During an interview with Pinkvilla, Bazmee said, "Yes, I am writing the F2 remake for Boney Ji. The "Sooryavanshi" actor believes that there is no problem in remaking a good movie. ## "I was recently questioned why I am doing two remakes. To which I say, why shouldn't I? What is the problem with it? My 'Oh My God' was remade in Telugu, the film worked here as well as there, I did their 'Rowdy Rathore', it worked there as well as here. So, why does anyone have an issue with that? If there is a good south Indian film and we are taking the rights and remaking here, what's the issue? Mumbai, May 22 - The trailer of the upcoming comedy-drama film, "Jug Jugg Jeeyo" was launched on May 22 amid much fanfare in Mumbai. Directed by Raj Mehta ("Good Newwz"), the movie stars Anil Kapoor, Neetu Kapoor, Varun Dhawan, and Kiara Advani in the leading roles. ## During the trailer launch event, producer Karan Johar was asked to comment on the ongoing Bollywood vs South Indian film industry debate. Karan Johar, who has produced some South Indian films, admitted that the South filmmakers have indeed raised the standard of Indian cinema and that he is very proud of it. ## "When we talk about films like Pushpa (The Rise), RRR, and KGF (Chapter 2) doing good business, we can truly say that this is Indian Cinema. I can say I am proud of Indian cinema as a whole. They have raised the status of Indian cinema. Rajamouli sir, Sukumar, and KGF makers have all told us how far we can go and how much we can do, they have truly raised our standards", he said. ## "Gangubai Kathiawadi has done such good business and now Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 has kicked off a massive opening. Now we just wish that Jug Jugg Jeeyo gets added to that list. We hope that films of every language do well whether it is Tamil, Telugu, or Marathi. We just don't want any language to be compared to each other. We just want to be proud of Indian cinema", Karan added. ## The Bollywood film industry used to be the leader of the Indian cinema, however, for the last two years during the covid-19 pandemic, the Hindi film industry has struggled a lot. While on the other hand, the South Indian movies are doing excellent at the box office. ## Accepting the supremacy of South Indian films, Karan Johar added, "The best crossover that has happened was when the South cinema did well in North.
