Hrithik Roshan - Saif Ali Khan Starrer Vikram Vedha Remake Set To Be Delayed Again?

Mumbai, June 27, 2021: The Hindi remake of the 2017 Tamil blockbuster, Vikram Vedha, has been a talk of the town for a long time now. While the original film starred Vijay Sethupathi and R Madhavan in the lead role, the Hindi remake will be headlined by Hrithik Roshan and Saif Ali Khan, stepping into the shoes of Sethupathi and Madhavan respectively. ## While the movie is yet to be officially announced, it was reportadly set to go on floors in July 2021. However, according to the latest development, the movie is set to be delayed once again. Due to the covid-19 situation in Mumbai, Maharashtra, the makers have said to be canceled the plan to roll out the film in July in Mumbai. ## According to the reports, the makers are now planning to roll out the film in August this year with the first scheduled to be shot abroad. Pushkar – Gayatri (a husband-wife duo), who helmed the original Vikram Vedha, will also be directing the Hindi remake. It will be produced by the original producer, Y NOT Studios, and co-produced by Plan C Studios. ## The original movie starred R. Madhavan as righteous police officer Vikram while Vijay Sethupathi played the gangster Vedha. The film draws from the ancient lore of Vikram-Betaal, where a wily gangster manages to escape every time a determined cop nabs him, by narrating a new story drawn from his own life. ## Apart from Vikram Vedha, Hrithik will also be doing his digital debut series, The Night Manager for Disney+Hotstar. He also has Sidharth Anand's Fighters which will roll out early next year. After that, he will be doing his ambitious project, Krrish 4, and then, War 2. It took nearly two years for her and the rest of the cast and crew of this biographical crime drama film to complete the filming which had begun on 8th December 2019. The shooting of the film was largely halted by the covid-19 pandemic. ## On Sunday (June 27), Alia Bhatt took to social media and shared the BTS pic, and talked about the heart-wrenching life-changing experience of working on Gangubai Kathiawadi. She also talked about the troubles they faced on the sets of the film. ## "We started shooting Gangubai on the 8th of December 2019 .. and we wrapped the film now 2 years later! The film depicts the rise of a simple girl from Kathiawad who had no choice but to embrace the ways of destiny and swing it in her favour. The narrative walks through the life of young Ganga who in no time marks her own territory and becomes Gangubai – a madame in the red light area of Kamathipura. ## Apart from Alia Bhatt, the movie also stars Vijay Raaz, Indira Tiwari, and Seema Pahwa playing pivotal roles, while Ajay Devgn and Emraan Hashmi featured in an extended cameo appearance. It will be directed by Sameer Vidwans and will start rolling later this year with an aim to hit theaters in 2022. ## Apart from Nadiadwala's film, the actor is shooting for Anees Bazmee's "Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2", which will be wrapped up by August this year. Mumbai, June 25, 2021: A couple of days ago, producer Sajid Nadiadwala announced his next film with heartthrob Kartik Aaryan. The movie titled Satyanarayan Ki Katha is an epic romantic love story film that will be directed by the National award-winning director, Sameer Vidwans - known for Marathi films like Dhurala, Altun Paltun, among others. ## While the rest of the casting is still underway, it is said that hardworking and talented, Shraddha Kapoor has been finalized to romance Kartik in the film. According to reports, Sajid Nadiadwala has already narrated the film to the actress, and she loved it and agreed to be a part of this beautiful love saga. The paperwork will soon be completed and then she will officially be on board the film. ## It will be the first time when Shraddha and Kartik will be sharing the screen space. While the movie will mainly revolve around Kartik, Shraddha has a very important part to play in it as well. It wouldn't have been Kartik-Shraddha's first appearance together had Kartik not rejected Batti Gul Meter Chalu, in which, Kartik was reportadly offered to play the supporting role (Divyendu's role). ## Meanwhile, Kartik has plenty of films in the pipeline. Mumbai, June 25, 2021: Bollywood superstar Ajay Devgn has joined with producer Dil Raju for the first time to produce the Hindi remake of the 2021 Telugu blockbuster movie, Naandhi. Naandhi is a crime courtroom drama film, directed by Vijay Kanakamedala. It was released on 19 February this year. ## "Naandhi" follows the life of Surya Prakash (Allari Naresh), an under-trial prisoner who is falsely accused of murder, awaiting judgment. The movie received critical reception and was also a commercially blockbuster. Apart from Allari Naresh, the movie also stars Varalaxmi Sarathkumar in a lead role while Priyadarshi, Harish Uthaman, Vinay Varma, and Praveen play supporting roles. ## The Hindi remake will be produced by Ajay Devgn, Dil Raju, Kuldeep Rathore, and Parag Desai. According to Pinkvilla, Kiara has signed a multi-film deal with Shankar including RC15 and Anniyan Hindi remake starring Ranveer Singh. ## It is said that Kiara will be a part of both - RC15 and Anniyan remake. It will be the second time when Kiara will share screen space with Ram Charan while Anniyan Hindi remake will mark her first movie with Ranveer Singh. The character details and shoot schedules have been kept under wraps, however, the Shankar film Ranveer Singh will go on floors sometime next year, only once the work on RC 15 is concluded. ## Apart from these two films, the actress might also star in Shankar's 3rd film. However, the report suggests that it's not known if that too will be helmed by Shankar or just produced by him. While the first two will happen in a quick span, the third one might take some time to roll out. ## Meanwhile, according to reports, RC15 will be a historical drama film. It will be Ram Charan's first movie after the period action film, RRR that is scheduled to release worldwide on October 13 this year. RC15 will also have a grand pan India release in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu languages. It will be produced by Dil Raju and Shirish under the production banner Sri Venkateswara Creations. ## On the other hand, Ranveer's film is the official Hindi adaptation of Shankar's own directorial 2005 Tamil psychological action thriller, "Anniyan" starring Chiyaan Vikram. The actress had recently announced that she is collaborating with writer-director Sai Kabir for a political drama that revolves around former India Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. ## However, for a change, she has now decided to direct the film herself along with starring in the film in the role of Indira Gandhi. She took to microblogging app, Koo, and said that no one can direct the film, which is titled Emergency, better than her after working on the film for more than a year. ## "Pleased to wear director's hat again, after working on Emergency for more than a year I finally figured no one can direct it better than me. Collaborating with fabulous writer Ritesh Shah, even if it means sacrificing on various acting assignments I am determined to do it, my excitement is high. This is going to be a tremendous journey, my leap to another league #Emergency #Indira", Kangana wrote on Koo. ## Ritesh Shah, who has written films such as Pink, Kahaani, Kahaani 2, D-Day, Rocky Handsome, and others, would write the script of Indira Gandhi's biopic as well. He also wrote Kangana Ranaut's next film, Dhaakad. ## Speaking to Pinkvilla, Kangana added, "Yes. This is going to be my second directorial. Even though I wanted another film, which I am also ready with, as my second directorial. But, it so happened that I was very keen to bring Indira Gandhi's story which has never been brought to screen. I was very eager to bring it to screen. I am very happy to be the director of this film. Looking forward to bringing the iconic story to the silver screen". ## The period film will be mounted on a very big scale, and have actors portraying Sanjay Gandhi, Rajeev Gandhi, Morarji Desai, and Lal Bahadur Shashtri among other prominent figures. Kangana will also be producing the film that will feature Emergency and Operation Blue Star. ## Kangana will next be seen in late actor-politician, Jayalalitha's biopic, titled Thalaivi. Mumbai, June 24, 2021: Vidya Balan starrer thriller film, "Sherni", invites fresh controversy. The movie, which released on June 18 directly on Amazon Prime Video, deals with the subjects like human-wildlife conflict and wildlife conservation. It shows how human greed is destroying wildlife. ## While the movie deals with the sensitive subject of wildlife, the makers of the film have been alleged for "twisting of facts" relating to the killing of tigress Avni. A Hyderabad shooter Asghar Ali Khan, who shot dead tigress Avni in Maharashtra's Yavatmal in 2018, is contemplating legal action against the makers of the film. "We are consulting the legal advisers. We have not yet taken a final call," Asghar Ali Khan told IANS on Wednesday. #### He has accused the makers of the film of presenting a completely different story regarding the killing of tigress Avni. Asghar Ali Khan, who is the son of well-known shooter Nawab Sahafath Ali Khan, alleged that the movie projected them as "trigger-happy shooters". "We had gone there at the invitation of the government and killed the man-eater tigress which had mauled to death 14 persons but we were projected as if we were hunting for fun", he said. ## He argued that the way the makers presented them in the film, could damage their reputation and add "fuel to the fire" to the sensitive matter which is already subjudice. Abundantia Entertainment Pvt Ltd, one of the producers of the film, however, clarified that "Sherni" is a creative work of fiction and will not hamper "any supposed ongoing investigation" or damage Asghar Ali or his father's reputation. ## Asghar Ali, however, is not satisfied with this. "If there is one similarity between what was shown in the movie and what happened in Avni's case, it can be called coincidence but there are so many similarities. There was a lady officer in the real operation, there is a lady officer (Vidya Balan) in the movie. There are other similarities like two cubs of the tigress and the use of urine of another tiger to attract the tigress", he said.## Sherni is directed by Amit V. Masurkar and produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, Vikram Malhotra, and Amit V. Masurkar under the banners of T-Series, and Abundantia Entertainment. Rahul Dholakia Backs Out Of Taapsee Pannu's Shabaash Mithu; Movie Will Now Be Directed By Srijit Mukherji

Mumbai, June 23, 2021: Legendary cricketer Mithali's Raj's biopic, Shabaash Mithu, starring Taapsee Pannu will go through a major development change. Rahul Dholakia, who was directing the biopic, has backed out of the film sitting scheduling issues. ## "I won't be directing the fabulous script written by Priya Aven and conceived by Ajit Andhare. Unfortunately, I won't be part of the dream, but I am, and will always be there for them to realise their dream. COVID messed up everyone's schedules, mine was no different. Ajit has a vision and a plan for the film and the way to realise it. I wish him and the team the very best for it", Dholakia said in a statement.## Good luck #ShabaashMithu !! Opening up about the same, Srijit Mukherji said that Mithali Raj's tale has always been an inspiration for him, and he is excited to be a part of the film. ## "Being a cricket buff and researcher, Mithali’s tale has always been an inspiration to me. I was excited since I had first heard of this film being made and now that I am a part of it, I look forward to kickstarting the journey to bring this exhilarating story to the silver screen soon", said Srijit.## Shabash Mithu is being produced by Viacom18 Studios. Ajit Andhare, the COO of the production house, said that it was unfortunate that Rahul had to leave, but his contribution will remain with the film. ## "COVID disruptions have required rescheduling of the shoot and, as a result, Rahul is moving on from Shabaash Mithu. It's unfortunate that after sharing and nurturing this dream for a long time, Rahul has to part ways. His contribution will remain, I thank him for that and wish him the very best", he said in a statement.## The biopic is based on the life of India's greatest woman cricketer ever, Mithali Raj. She is the captain of India's ODI and Test teams. Taapsee will essay the role of Mithali in the film.
