Ranbir Kapoor To Reunite With Director Rajkumar Hirani For A Social Comedy?

Ranbir Kapoor was last seen in the Rajkumar Hirani directorial, "Sanju", which was released in 2018. The actor-director duo created magic with Sanjay Dutt's biopic which not only entered the rare 300 crores club but also proved to be a life-changing movie for Ranbir who has had a share of ups and downs so far. ## It wasn't the first time Ranbir and Hirani worked together, earlier, Ranbir played a small cameo in Hirani's "PK" which starred Aamir Khan in the title role. After "PK", there has been strong buzz that Ranbir will be headlining the sequel of "PK" with Hirani to direct. And now, the much-awaited collaboration is happening but, as earlier speculated, it won't be a sequel to "PK". ## According to reports, Hirani has a script for Ranbir which was supposed to start right after Sanju, but Hirani's commitment with Shah Rukh Khan was preponed and the two are finally set to collaborate on a biggie. Furthermore, it's suggested that Rajkummar Hirani had shared two stories with SRK, one on the lines of the Munnabhai franchise and another a story about immigration and SRK agreed upon the immigration one. ## It is also said that Hirani had shared the same story with Ranbir but the director felt it required a senior actor and on finding out about SRK's interest in the film. Hirani's film, which is said to be a typical Hirani space of social comedy, with Ranbir Kapoor will be the director's next after SRK's film. ## "He is definitely doing one more film with Ranbir, and it's just a matter of time. Right now, all energies are on developing and taking his next on floors. Once that's out of the system, will the Ranbir film come to the forefront. Actress Aditi Rao Hydari, who is currently seen in the Netflix movie Ajeeb Daastaans, said that she does miss going out to theaters, despite the OTT platforms are doing good to entertain people. She said there is a sense of "magic" in theatres, which has always been there and will never go away.## "I miss it because there's the magic associated with the theatre, there's a whole childhood nostalgia, and it's a very immersive experience. You go there and you become a part of the world there", Aditi told IANS.## However, due to the lockdown last year, the OTT platforms witnessed an exponential rise in terms of new content and subscribers, and Aditi is not wrong when she says that OTTs have been the actor's best friend in many ways. ## "In the lockdown, OTT platforms have been our best friends. With OTT, there has been amazing writing, content, and the way the audience has consumed the content, that's been really incredible. As an actor, there is so much more to do on it, in fact, for directors, writers, and everyone in the industry it has opened a whole new world", she said.## With the rise of OTTs, Aditi feels that there will be a time when both, OTTs and theaters will be at the same level as each platform is powerful in its own way. ## "For writers, directors, actors, it has opened up a new world in terms of stories that one can only make for OTT which is different from (what) one makes for the theatres. Amid the reports of creative differences, Karan Johar's Dharma Productions has reportedly sacked the nation's heartthrob, Kartik Aaryan from the sequel of Dostana stating the actor's "unprofessional behavior". It has also been said that Dharma Productions or any other film business of Karan Johar has vowed never to work with Kartik again.## Earlier, there were reports that Kartik Aaryan is no longer part of Abhishek Bachchan and John Abraham starrer Dostana sequel as he wanted some changes in the script to which Johar didn't agree upon. Along with the creative differences, it has also been reported that Janhvi Kapoor and Kartik have had a fallout and he was not ready to share screen space with the actress which led to a rift between Karan and Kartik. ## However, as per the reports, Karan Johar was annoyed with Kartik's tantrums. Ajay Devgn has announced his next production and joins hands with the producer, Siddharth Roy Kapur for a comedy-drama film, titled "Gobar". The movie will be directed by the well-known ad filmmaker Sabal Shekhawat, who debuted with the acclaimed 2013 indie "Fireflies".## The movie is inspired by the true events set during the 1990s in North India. It follows the story of an animal-loving veterinary doctor who witnesses corrupt practices in a local state hospital and decides to stand up against it.## "The story of 'Gobar!' is at once unique, relatable, and incredibly funny, as well as gripping and entertaining to the point that I'm confident it will compel people to go to the theaters. We are very clear about the impact we want to make. Director Shankar Hits Back At Producer Aascar Ravichandran Over 'Anniyan' Copyright Issue

Aascar V Ravichandran, who produced the original "Anniyan", has asked Shankar to stop immediately further proceedings as he is the sole owner of the entire story rights. ## "I'm utterly shocked to know that you are likly to undertake the direction of a Hindi film by adopting the story of the movie Anniyan. You are well aware of the fact that I am the producer of the said movie Anniyan. The entire story rights were purchased by me from the writer Sujatha (alias late Rangarajan) for which the full payment was done by me to him and necessary records are also available. I am the whole and sole owner of the rights of the storyline. As such, any such adoption or remaking or copying the main plot of the said movie, without my permission, is totally illegal", the statement, shared by the producer, read. ## Ravichandran also reminded Shankar when the Robot director was under severe stress due to the failure of "BOYS", he was the one who still provided Shankar, the opportunity to direct "Anniyan", after which he regained his lost ground. He further said that despite knowing everything, how can he try to reap the accolades of his successful movie, "Anniyan", by associating himself with the Hindi remake of the same film. ## He concluded his statement by saying that "you are hereby advised to immediately stop preceding any further on the same, due to the illegal copying of the story for which the entire rights are held by me. The area can hence be marked by filmmakers all across the country to shoot any urban setting scenes they need to for their film, with the maximum help in the form of a solid support system provided by the locals there", says Tripathi. ## The actor also said that the villagers can be trained to work as junior artists in the films shot there, which could be a source of income for them. ## "Locals can be a part of the crew as well as act as junior artistes in films that are shot there. We could try creating a village similar to the likes of Mawlynnong village in Meghalaya, which is known to be the cleanest village of Asia also a tourist spot. Shankar aims to take Anniyan to another level altogether with the help of modern VFX and state-of-the-art technology and it is the project Shankar and his team have been planning to put together for a long time now. ## The film will mark Shankar's return to Hindi films twenty years after his only Hindi directorial, Nayak (2001) that starred Anil Kapoor in the lead. Interestingly, that film was also the remake of his own Tamil political drama, Mudhalvan (1999). ## Meanwhile, Ranveer Singh is currently filming for the Rohit Shetty adaptation of Shakespeare's Comedy Of The Errors "Cirkus" in Hyderabad, and will then head to Karan Johar's next directorial which is a relationship drama co-starring Alia Bhatt.
