Dhurandhar Box Office: Becomes Ranveer Singh's Biggest Grosser; Heads To Enter 1000 Crore Milestone Worldwide
Mumbai, December 17 - In a major milestone for Ranveer Singh, the spy action thriller Dhurandhar has become the highest-grossing film of his career at the worldwide box office, beating Padmaavat, in which he played the antagonist role opposite Shahid Kapoor and Deepika Padukone. Directed by Aditya Dhar, Dhurandhar outgrossed the entire theatrical run of Padmaavat (585 crores worldwide) on its 11th day and became the biggest grosser for Ranveer. The movie continued its blockbuster run on the second Tuesday and grossed around 45 crores worldwide to take its total collection to around 633 crores in 12 days. The movie had good buzz before release, but it literally shot off once it hit the big screens, and there has been no stopping it since then. Inspired by real-life incidents, Dhurandhar was always going to do well, but no one had thought it would become a monster going forward. First, it breached the milestone of 500 crores worldwide, which very few thought would be achieved. But such has been a phenomenon that the film is now heading to enter the 1000 crores club, and given the current trend, it looks like a matter of time before it achieves this landmark box office figure.
