Ajay Devgn-Rakul Preet Singh's De De Pyaar De 2 Creates Buzz, Leads IMDb's Most Anticipated Movies of 2025 List

Mumbai, October 24 - After the trailer launch recently, the buzz for Ajay Devgn and Rakul Preet Singh's romantic comedy De De Pyaar De 2 is skyrocketing. Ahead of the film's release, the rom-com has claimed the No. 1 spot on IMDb's list of Most Anticipated New Indian Movies and Shows. According to IMDb's real-time popularity rankings, De De Pyaar De 2 currently leads with 19.5% of the total share, leaving behind other eagerly awaited films like Haq, Dhurandhara, and Baahubali - The Epic. It is very common for films to top IMDb's anticipation list close to the release date, but the fact that DDPD2 still has 3 weeks left, the latest development is a big positive. The sequel to the 2019 hit De De Pyaar De, the film reunites Ajay Devgn with his signature blend of humour, charm, and emotional depth. The original, which starred Tabu and Rakul Preet Singh alongside Devgn, became a crowd favourite for its refreshing take on modern relationships. The buzz around the sequel has been steadily growing ever since its announcement, and the IMDb ranking now proves that anticipation is sky-high. In recent times, franchise films have failed to generate buzz, but the tide seems to be changing for DDPD2, which is genuinely making noise among the fans and trade, especially after the trailer launch that received a unanimous positive reception and huge viewership. With the film leading the hype charts, De De Pyaar De 2 looks poised to deliver another crowd-pleasing entertainer. Directed by Anshul Sharma and also starring R. Madhavan, Ishita Dutta, Meezaan Jafri, and Gautami Kapoor, fans are already waiting to see what fresh twists this romantic comedy will bring to the table — and if the IMDb anticipation is any sign, Ajay Devgn's next outing is set to open with a bang. Director Amar Kaushik Breaks Silence On Vicky Kaushal's Mahavatar Shoot Schedule and Key Developments

Mumbai, October 23: Maddock Films announced its most ambitious film yet, Mahavatar with Vicky Kaushal last year. Director Amar Kaushik, known for blockbusters like Stree and Stree 2, has been attached to helm this mega project, which was announced for a Christmas 2026 release. Recently, it was reported that Mahavatar wouldn't be ready by Christmas 2026 and was postponed to 2027, due to a delay in the shoot. During a recent interview with Bollywood Hungama, Amar Kaushik finally shared a major update on his upcoming magnum opus, as he admitted that Mahavatar is a major responsibility. Speaking about the project's scale and preparation, Amar revealed that the team has been deeply involved in pre-production for several months. "The prep is going on for 6-7 months. We have worked on the set design, weapon design, how every character would look, etc. The scripting is done. Yet, we need more time," he said. The filmmaker also confirmed that Vicky Kaushal will join the prep phase once he wraps up his ongoing commitments. "Vicky will finish his other commitments, and after that, he'll also start his preparation. Hence, we hope to go on floors by mid-next year," Amar added. Mahavatar marks Amar Kaushik’s most ambitious venture yet, said to be a large-scale mythological action drama with a unique blend of spirituality and visual spectacle. With the director's proven storytelling finesse and Vicky Kaushal's commanding screen presence, expectations are sky-high for this collaboration. As of now, the team is taking its time to perfect every element — from the look and design to the tone and world-building — ensuring that Mahavatar lives up to its title. If all goes as planned, the film is expected to begin shooting by mid-2026, setting the stage for one of the most anticipated Hindi films in the coming years. Stay tuned...

Maddock Films' Shakti Shalini Shooting Timeline Revealed As Amar Kaushik Explains How Aneet Padda Came On Board

Mumbai, October 23 - Aneet Padda shot to nationwide fame after the mega blockbuster success of Yash Raj Films' Saiyaara, which marked her memorable debut. It didn't take long for the actress to land her second major role, after Maddock Films announced her as the face of its next horror comedy film, Shakti Shalini. Touted as the biggest role yet, the actress replaced Kiara Advani to headline the upcoming film, which is set to release on December 24, 2026. Amar Kaushik, the architect behind Maddock Horror Comedy Universe and the mentor of the universe, explained how Padda came on board as the lead of such a big project. "When we were writing the script, we realised that we needed a younger actor. Meanwhile, we saw her film Saiyaara and realised that she suits the part perfectly for that character. She heard the story and came on board", Kaushik said in an interview with Bollywood Hungama. The director of Shakit Shalini is not locked yet, as the makers are still in discussion. There are rumours that either Kaushik or Thamma fame Aditya Sarpotdar will helm the project, but nothing is confirmed yet. Meanwhile, Kaushik confirmed that the film will go on floors in January 2026. Shakti Shalini will be the only release in Maddock's Horror Comedy Universe, as Amar Kaushik said that they don't want an overdose of MHCU films. "We feel that there should not be an overdose, and we should not give too many films in a short period. Hence, as of now, the plan is to only bring Shakti Shalini next year", he said. Stay tuned...

Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat Day 2 Early Estimates: Harshvardhan Rane's Romance Drama Scores An Excellent Hold

Mumbai, October 22 — Harshvardhan Rane and Sonam Bajwa's romantic drama Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat is emerging as one of the biggest surprises of the year at the box office. After taking a better-than-expected start, the film is holding impressively well on its second day, showing that audience word of mouth is turning in its favour, while having the festive advantage. As per early estimates, Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat has collected around 7–8 crores net on Day 2, following its solid 9 crores net opening day. This takes its two-day total to approximately 16+ crores net, a strong result for a film with limited pre-release buzz and no major star power. The festive advantage continues to boost the collections, but more importantly, the film seems to be benefiting from positive audience feedback, especially among younger viewers and in tier-2 cities. The romantic drama's intense storyline and soulful music have reportedly struck a chord with its target audience. With a stable second day and encouraging trends across mass belts and multiplex chains, Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat is now well-positioned for a strong weekend. If the word of mouth continues to hold, it could emerge as a sleeper hit of the season. Stay tuned...

Thamma Day 2 Early Estimates: Ayushmann Khurrana-Starrer Sees Good Hold

Mumbai, October 22 — Ayushmann Khurrana and Rashmika Mandanna's vampire horror comedy Thamma is maintaining a good grip at the box office after a solid opening day. The Maddock Films release has managed to hold well on its second day, continuing to benefit from the Diwali festive period. According to early estimates, Thamma collected 17.50-18.50 crores net on Day 2, showing a decent hold after its impressive 24 crores net opening. This takes the film's two-day total to over 41 crores net, which is a good start for the entertainer and marks one of the best openings for Ayushmann Khurrana. Directed by Aditya Sarpotdar, Thamma continues to enjoy the Diwali post-holiday advantage, with strong family turnout across major circuits and good word-of-mouth driving footfalls. The drop from Day 1 is reasonable, especially given that the second day is a working day in several parts of the country. With holiday fever still in the air, the 5th film in the Maddock Horror Comedy Universe (MHCU) is expected to maintain its momentum through the extended festive week. The film has been praised for its quirky humour, visual style, and unique blend of horror and comedy — a formula that continues to resonate well with audiences. Stay tuned...

Thamma vs Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat: Ayushmann Khurrana and Harshvardhan Rane Starrers Light Up Box Office With 40 Crore Gross Post-Diwali Day

Mumbai, October 22 - Unlike 2024, Bollywood didn't witness a high-profile clash this Diwali, yet there were enough fireworks at the ticket windows to light up the box office. Ayushmann Khurrana's vampire comedy Thamma, which is part of Maddock's expanding horror-comedy universe, faced unexpected competition from Harshvardhan Rane's romantic drama Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat. Despite belonging to entirely different genres, both films managed to draw audiences post-Diwali, resulting in a collective box office gross of around 40 crore. While Thamma attracted family crowds and youth with its quirky premise and humour, Deewaniyat found love among urban audiences for its music and emotional storytelling. Directed by Aditya Sarpotdar, Thamma, which also stars Rashmika Mandanna and Nawazuddin Siddiqui, carried good pre-sales and opened on the expected lines. The 5th movie in Maddock Horror Comedy Universe grossed approximately 28.75 crores (24 crores net) on its opening day, which is the second biggest start in the MHCU, behind Stree 2. The real surprise, however, was Deewaniyat, which opened to better than expected collections. The success of Rane's Sanam Teri Kasam re-release earlier this year seems to have worked in the actor's favour, as the movie grossed approximately 10.75 crores (9 crores net) on its post-Diwali day. The opening of Deewaniyat is easily the biggest for Rane, who, otherwise, doesn't have much in the box office menu to showcase. The initial reception for the film, however, is on the mixed to negative side, though it is expected to score decently with the holiday period still going on. Overall, it was a good day at the Hindi box office with nearly 50 crores gross collection, as other movies contributed to around 10 crores gross, including Kantara Chapter 2, which minted around 5 crores gross on the day. But, going forward, focus will be on Thamma and Deewaniyat on how they perform and make the most of the holiday frame. Stay tuned...

Thamma Day 1 Early Estimates: Ayushmann Khurrana-Rashmika Mandanna Starrer Opens On A Strong Note

Mumbai, October 21 - Ayushmann Khurrana and Rashmika Mandanna's much-awaited horror comedy Thamma has opened on a strong note at the domestic box office. The film, directed by Aditya Sarpotdar and produced by Maddock Films, benefited from the post-Diwali festive period and solid audience buzz around Maddock's expanding horror comedy universe. Thamma started on a good note during the morning shows with healthy occupancy across urban centres, and witnessed a significant jump as the day progressed. The film picked up very well from noon onward, both in multiplex chains and single screens. As per early estimates, Thamma has scored 23–25 crore net on its opening day, marking a strong start for the Ayushmann-Rashmika pairing. This makes it the second-biggest opener in the Maddock Horror Comedy Universe, only behind Stree 2, and also places it among the top 5 biggest Bollywood openings of 2025. The film's combination of horror, humour, and festive timing seems to have worked in its favour, with positive audience reactions reported from both family and youth demographics. If the trend continues over the weekend, Thamma could emerge as one of the most successful Bollywood releases of the season. Stay tuned...

Maddock Films' Shakti Shalini Locks Release Date As Aneet Padda Set To Headline

Mumbai, October 21: Maddock Films has officially announced the release date for its next addition to the popular horror-comedy universe, Shakti Shalini. The film, set to be headlined by Saiyaara fame Aneet Padda, is slated to hit theatres on December 24, 2026, marking a grand festive release during the Christmas weekend. The announcement of the film's release date with Aneet Padda as the lead was made through a special teaser attached to Thamma, another Maddock production that released in theatres on October 21. The glimpse introduced Padda as the Mother of MHCU, setting the tone for a quirky yet thrilling addition to the franchise. Shakti Shalini continues Maddock's successful horror-comedy legacy that includes hits like Stree, Roohi, Bhediya, and the latest Thamma. Interestingly, reports suggest that the role was initially written for Kiara Advani, but the makers later finalised Aneet Padda, who has been making waves with her performances in Saiyaara and other recent ventures. Industry insiders see this as a major breakthrough for the young actor, positioning her as one of the promising new faces in Bollywood. The post-credit teaser in Thamma also hinted at a larger connection between Shakti Shalini and the rest of Maddock’s horror-comedy universe, teasing a crossover storyline that will reportedly culminate in an ensemble film. With a strategic Christmas 2026 release, Shakti Shalini is expected to be one of Maddock Films' biggest projects, combining star power, franchise continuity, and festive timing to deliver a crowd-pulling entertainer. Harshvardhan Rane's Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat Box Office Preview/Opening Expectations: Eyes Double-Digit Start

Mumbai, October 21 - Romantic drama Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat, starring Harshvardhan Rane and Sonam Bajwa, is gearing up for a promising opening at the box office. The film has surprised trade analysts with its good advance booking trend, signalling a strong start despite a modest star cast. Directed by Milap Zaveri, Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat has clocked 4 crores in advance bookings (including block seats) for its opening day. This figure is notably higher than Akshay Kumar's Kesari Chapter 2, underscoring the unexpectedly strong interest the film has generated among audiences. Trade trackers note that the advances are surprisingly good for the cast involved, especially considering the film's romantic drama genre and mid-tier positioning. The advance numbers, coupled with the Diwali holiday effect, have positioned Deewaniyat for a healthy start in the range of 8–10 crores on opening day. Adding to its advantage, the film releases a day after Diwali, traditionally regarded as one of the best days for the box office. With families and younger audiences expected to flock to cinemas, Deewaniyat is likely to see a surge in spot bookings across urban and semi-urban centres. If the early trends sustain through the day, Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat could well emerge as a dark horse this festive season, potentially posting one of the strongest openings for a low-budget romantic drama in recent times. Director Ayan Mukerji Sparks Fresh Buzz For Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt's Brahmastra Part 2

Mumbai, October 20 - After the box office debacle of Yash Raj Films' War 2, director Ayan Mukerji seems to have started work on Brahmastra Part 2 - Dev, which was supposed to be his next directorial after Part 1 in 2022. The filmmaker has shared a series of pictures which have sparked a fresh buzz for Part 2. On October 19, Ayan took to Instagram to share some pictures from what looks like a mountain getaway in Uttarakhand and captioned them as Pt. 2 with an Om emoji, which hints at the Brahmastra Part 2. Fans also spotted a blurry glimpse of the script of Brahmastra Part 2 in his pictures. The latest post by Ayan Mukerji has almost confirmed that Brahmastra 2 will be his next directorial, featuring Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt in the leading roles. With this, it has also been confirmed that he won't be directing YRF's Dhoom 4, which will reportedly be headlined by Ranbir Kapoor. Ayan was the first choice to helm the fourth instalment of the heist actioner, but the disastrous box office result of War 2 has made the makers rethink the strategy. According to Bollywood Hungama, "Ayan believes that films like War 2 and Dhoom 4 were never meant for him, and he wants to do something a lot wider with scope for romance, drama with spectacle vibes and storytelling". "Both Aditya Chopra and Ranbir Kapoor understood Ayan's point of view and have parted ways on the right note (on Dhoom 4). Ayan is now working on Brahmastra 2 and will take the film on floors in 2026. The writing work is concluded, and some polishing is going on during his stay in the Himalayas", says the report. Shah Rukh Khan, Kajol's Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge: 30 Years of Romance, Culture, and Legacy

Mumbai, October 20 — Three decades ago, on this very day in 1995, a young filmmaker named Aditya Chopra changed the course of Indian cinema with his directorial debut Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge. Starring Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol, the film wasn't just another romantic drama; it became an emotion, a cultural milestone, and a cinematic legacy that continues to live in the hearts of millions around the world, not just in India. DDLJ brought with it a refreshing take on love and family values. It told the story of Raj (SRK) and Simran (Kajol), two young Indians raised abroad who fall in love on a European trip, only to find their bond tested by tradition and parental expectations. In an era when Bollywood romances often rebelled against family authority, DDLJ stood out because it embraced it, which the audience loved and resonated with. Indian Cinema Prepares For Its Most Ambitious Line-up Yet With Ramayana, Varanasi, King, and More Aditya Chopra's vision struck a delicate balance — celebrating youthful passion while respecting the sanctity of family and culture. That combination gave Indian audiences something deeply familiar yet beautifully modern. The film's setting, moving from the train rides across Europe to the mustard fields of Punjab, gave it an expansive visual appeal. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) Cinematographer Manmohan Singh's lens captured a fairytale world that felt both aspirational and comforting. It was a love story that spoke not just to Indians at home, but also to the diaspora who longed for a connection to their roots. Jatin-Lalit's timeless music, Anand Bakshi's poetic lyrics, and the unforgettable voices of Lata Mangeshkar, Kumar Sanu, and Udit Narayan. Songs like "Tujhe Dekha To," "Mehndi Laga Ke Rakhna," and "Ruk Ja O Dil Deewane" became anthems of love and celebration. Even today, they play at weddings, bringing generations together in nostalgia and joy. Aneet Padda's Shakti Shalini To Be The Most Important Film of MHCU, Amar Kaushik Reveals Reason But perhaps what made DDLJ truly iconic was the chemistry between Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol. Their charm, innocence, and authenticity transformed Raj and Simran into symbols of ideal love. Shah Rukh's playful confidence and Kajol's grace created moments that felt effortlessly real — from the laughter of the Europe trip to the emotional intensity of the film's climax. The final train scene, with Raj's outstretched hand and Simran's desperate run, remains one of Indian cinema's most unforgettable moments. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) As DDLJ turns 30, it holds a record few films can claim. The movie continues to run at Mumbai's Maratha Mandir theatre, maintaining its status as the longest-running film in Indian history. For many, watching it there isn't just about nostalgia — it's a ritual, a connection to a simpler, more romantic era of Bollywood. Ideas of love, freedom, and family have evolved, and today's romances often explore different kinds of relationships. Yet, Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge endures because its heart remains pure. It speaks of love that is patient, love that seeks acceptance, and love that triumphs through respect and understanding. It wasn't just a film; it was a moment in time that defined how a generation dreamed of love. Kartik Aaryan, Ananya Pandey's Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri Teaser Sets Viewership Record For A Rom-Com Three decades later, Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge stands not merely as a classic but as a cultural phenomenon that redefined Bollywood romance. It gave us a new definition of love — one that bridges continents, generations, and emotions. As audiences revisit Raj and Simran's journey today, they're not just watching a film; they're reliving a feeling — one that reminds us that no matter how much the world changes, love, at its purest, never goes out of style.
