Los Angeles, May 1 - Americans love video game movies, and the latest action-adventure comedy film, "Sonic the Hedgehog 2" has proved that. Based on the video game franchise published by Sega, "Sonic 2" has become the highest-grossing movie in USA history. ## Directed by Jeff Fowler, "Sonic 2" has overtaken its predecessor with $152 million through Saturday (April 30) and it is now at the top of the box office for a movie adapted from a video game. "Sonic the Hedgehog", which was released in 2020, had grossed $146 million in its lifetime run but it garnered praise which paved the way for its successor to go big at the box office. ## "Sonic the Hedgehog 2" is on a record-breaking spree since its debut on April 8, 2022, at the domestic box office. The movie scored a huge $72 million on its opening weekend, which is the highest ever for a video game movie. Worldwide, it has grossed approx. $295 million so far, and is still behind from original movie's $319 million. ## The success of "Sonic 2" at the domestic box office is highly impressive, especially knowing the fact that it was released along with major Hollywood movies from big studios. A Sequel To Salman Khan's 'No Entry' Has Officially Been Confirmed

Mumbai, May 1 - One of the most anticipated Bollywood movie sequels, "No Entry" has been making noise for a long time now. Superstar Salman Khan had himself said in December last year that he would be working on the sequel, however, the shooting and other details were not disclosed by him at that time. ## It was reported that the original lead trio of Salman Khan, Anil Kapoor, and Fardeen Khan would be reuniting for the movie along with director Anees Bazmee. Now, the director has himself confirmed the movie and said that the shooting for the same will be commenced soon. ## Anees told IndiaToday.in, "The shoot of the film is going to start very soon. I have met Salman Bhai four to five times and told him that we have to start this film soon now. He is very serious and we are going to start very soon. Salman Bhai is there, there's Fardeen [Khan] and Anil Kapoor. These three will be a part of the movie". ## "No Entry", which was released in 2005, was the highest-grossing film of the year. Produced by Boney Kapoor, the movie holds a special place in the comedy genre in the Hindi film industry. The demand for the sequel has been there for a long time and according to Boney Kapoor, the script is ready for the movie, which is titled "No Entry Mein Entry". ## "I have the script and now it is up to Salman if he wants to do it and when he wants to do it... The No Entry Mein Entry script that I have is better than the No Entry one. It is 10 times funnier than No Entry, but the film to be made completely depends on Salman, it can be made only with him", he had said according to DNA. ## The original movie also starred Esha Deol, Lara Dutta, and Celina Jaitly along with Bipasha Basu as female leads. Mumbai, May 1 - Marvel Studios' "Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness" is finally releasing in theaters worldwide next week. However, it hasn't been easy for Marvel to work on this highly anticipated sequel to 2016's movie as it went through a lot of delays and changes for various reasons. ## "Doctor Strange 2" might have been released a little earlier if it had not gone through reshoots late last year. At that time, it was unknown to everyone why Marvel was asking for the film's reshoots, however, director Sam Raimi recently revealed the main goals for the reshoots in an interview. ## "There's a lot of points where the audience says - I don't understand this. I don't understand this concept. Or, I'm aware of this concept, and then you explained it again in the third act, Oh, you're right, the audience knows that already. Or 'They had to know that in order to accept this next story beat. A lot of it is test screenings, learning what is confusing on a complex picture like this, or learning things that have overstayed their welcome", Raimi told Rolling Stone (via comic book).## "Recognizing when something is too slow, and even though it's a proper beat to put in, the audience doesn't need it. They can figure that out on their own, so what seemed like a logical step now becomes, in the editing process - Hmm. That's slowing us down. Let's skip it and let the audience make the leap themselves. But it's also about recognizing what they really like, and sometimes expanding those things that they're really reacting well to. It's recognizing what's original about the picture, and when you've got the opportunity to, expanding upon that", he added. ## The reshoots might have made the film more engaging which will be known once the movie is out in cinemas on May 6. Meanwhile, the movie is set a few months after the events of Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021). He, however, exited from directing duties of the upcoming movie to take a break from large-scale superhero movies. ## "Making three Spider-Man films was an incredible and life-changing experience for me. I'm eternally grateful to have been a part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe for seven years. However, the lukewarm response to "Runway 34", and "Heropanti 2" has confirmed that KGF Chapter 2 will have another solid weekend at the box office. ## The Yash-fronted period action drama film did not lose grip and scored a solid third Friday (16th day) at the Hindi box office with 4.25 crores net. This takes the movie past 350 crores net (353.06cr), which is the second-fastest ever in Hindi. SS Rajamouli's "Baahubali 2 The Conclusion" still remains the fastest to reach the milestone of 350 crores net, in just 12 days. ## Directed by Prashanth Neel, "KGF 2" is only the third film ever to cross 350 crores net in Hindi, and now, it is well and truly on to become only the second film to reach 400 crores, after "Baahuabli 2". "Drishyam 2" is the Hindi remake of the Mohanlal-starrer 2021 Malayalam movie of the same name, and it also features Shriya Saran and Ishita Dutta in key roles. ## The story of "Drishyam 2" takes place six years after the events of Drishyam (2015). The original movie chronicled the story of a family of four whose lives turned upside down following an unfortunate incident with their older daughter. ## Directed by Abhishek Pathak, the sequel will see Ajay Devgn reprising his role as Vijay Salgoankar. Tabu, who started filming for the movie earlier this week, will return as Meera Deshmukh, Inspector General of Police, Goa. Shriya Saran returns as the wife of Vijay Salgoankar and Ishita Dutta as their daughter. ## The sequel is produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, Kumar Mangat Pathak, and Abhishek Pathak under the banners of T-Series and Panorama Studios in association with Viacom18 Studios. Mumbai, April 30 - Filmmaker Rohit Shetty's admiration for Indian police forces is no hidden secret to anyone. Known for his famous cop universe (Singham, Simmba, and Sooryavanshi), the maverick filmmaker has now joined hands with Reliance Entertainment to produce the biopic of Mumbai's one of the most revered top cops and former commissioner of police, Rakesh Maria. ## As deputy commissioner of police (traffic) in 1993, Rakesh Maria cracked the Bombay serial blasts case. He was later deputy commissioner of police (crime) and then joint commissioner of police (crime), of the Mumbai police.## Maria solved the 2003 Gateway of India and Zaveri Bazaar twin blasts case, arresting six persons, including a couple for planting the explosive devices inside taxis. He was also given the responsibility of investigating the 26/11 Mumbai attacks of 2008. He interrogated Ajmal Kasab, the only terrorist captured alive, and successfully investigated the case. Kasab was executed by hanging in 2012. ## The biopic will be based on Maria's 2020 memoir "Let Me Say it Now" and will be mentored by Shetty himself. The cast and the director of the film are yet to be finalized. ## Rohit Shetty said, "Rakesh Maria, the man who stared terror in the face for 36 years. His incredible journey spans all the way from the 1993 blasts in Mumbai, the underworld menace, to the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks in 2008. After pushing to 2023, "The Marvels" is now swapping the release with "Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania" in 2023, confirmed by Disney. ## "The Marvels", the sequel to 2019's "Captain Marvel", was originally due to open in theaters on Feb. 17, 2023, after getting pushed from November 2022, and "Ant-Man 3", was set to open on July 28, 2023. Instead, the "Ant-Man" sequel will now debut in Feb. while "The Marvels" shifted to July 2023. ## According to Variety, this was a matter of "Ant-Man 3" simply being further along in its creative process than "The Marvels", as the former has wrapped principal photography while "The Marvels" still has a bit more to go. Meanwhile, in between "Ant-Man 3", and "The Marvels", Marvel Studios' other big theatrical release in 2023, "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3", will be released as originally scheduled on May 5.## "Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania" is expected to continue the multiverse storyline launched with the 2021 Disney+ series "Loki". Paul Rudd, Evangeline Lilly, Michael Douglas, and Michelle Pfeiffer will be reprising their roles along with the return of director Peyton Reed. Jonathan Majors will play the main villain and a variant of his “Loki” character, Kang the Conqueror. ## On the other hand, "The Marvels" is set to tie in with two Disney+ shows: 2021's "WandaVision", and the upcoming "Ms. Marvel".
