Top of it, the Andhra Pradesh government has seized many theaters in the state, citing several reasons. This has caused problems for the distributors as they are not being able to generate enough revenue for their films. ## Actors Nani, whose "Shyam Singha Roy" was released over Christmas Day weekend on December 24, has voiced his opinion over the ongoing crisis. Nani openly stated the Telugu industry is lacking unity at the moment which is causing more problems.## In an interview with greatandhra.com, the "Jersey" actor stressed that all the heroes should unite and take a stand against the government's pricing policy. He further said that the situation of theaters in the state is not only affecting the producers and distributors but also causing problems to the people who associate with cinemas. ## Nani said, "Had everyone come on to a common consensus at the beginning itself, this problem wouldn't have become this big. Mumbai, December 26 - "Spider-Man: No Way Home" is keeping its eye on history after zooming past a coveted $1 billion mark at the global box office over the Christmas weekend, becoming the first to reach the milestone since 2019's "Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker" ($1.073 billion in December 2019).## Till Friday, "No Way Home" scored around $920 million globally and will spend Christmas Day swinging past the $1 billion mark. It becomes the 49th film to go past $1 billion worldwide grosses and the biggest grosser of 2021, going past China's "The Battle at Lake Changjin" ($904M). The Spider-Man film is doing it without getting released in China, which is the biggest movie market in the world at the moment. ## "No Way Home" is only the fifth film to achieve the $1 billion global box office without China. In the past, "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest" ($1.06B in 2006), "The Dark Knight" ($1B in 2008), "Alice in Wonderland" ($1.02B in 2010), and "Joker" ($1.07B in 2019) were able to score these rare feet. ## The finale of Tom Holland's first Spider-Man trilogy has already become the top-grossing domestic title of Sony Pictures, passing the $402 million unadjusted domestic cume of Sam Raimi's Spider-Man. While the studios' latest blockbuster "Spider-Man: No Way Home" is nearing the $1 billion mark, their "Venom - Let There Be Carnage" also went past half a billion mark at the worldwide box office. ## Headed by Tom Hardy, the superhero movie has grossed $500.1 million at the global box office so far, becoming the 4th Hollywood title in 2021 to cross the milestone after "James Bond - No Time to Die", "Fast & Furious 9", and "Spider-Man: No Way Home". At the domestic BO, "Venom 2" grossed $212.5M (3rd biggest in 2021), while overseas, it grossed $287.6M without China. ## "Venom 2's" Top 10 overseas markets are Russia ($32.4M), the UK ($24.7M), Mexico (24.6M), Korea ($17.9M), France ($15.9M), Japan ($13.1M), Germany ($12.5M), Brazil ($12.1M), Australia ($10.3M) and Spain ($10.4M). The movie was released on October 1st in the USA.## Meanwhile, Marvel Studios' "Eternals", which introduced a new league of superheroes in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), has crossed $400 million worldwide. Directed by Oscar-winner, Chloé Zhao, "Eternals" grossed $164.1 million in North America and $236.2 million overseas, for a worldwide cume of $400.3 million.## "Eternals" represents an important step forward in Marvel's big-screen efforts. Nellore, December 25 - V Epiq, the largest theater screen of India, has shut down its operation due to the low ticket prices. Situated in Sullurpet, Nellore district of Andhra Pradesh, the V Epiq screen is 100ft in width and 85ft in height, and is one of the largest in the world. ## It has come to the light that the V Epiq screen has suspended operations from yesterday (December 24) onwards due to Andhra Pradesh Government's restrictions on Ticket Prices. It is reported that the highest price of a movie ticket in the theater was just Rs. 35, which is among the lowest in the state. The theater owners reportedly said that they will lose more money by running it than staying shut. ## The V Epiq screen was opened on August 30, 2019, with Prabhas' starrer "Saaho". It was the third-largest screen in the world at the time of its opening. And now, the screen had to shut as it was not being able to generate enough revenue to stay open.## The situation of theaters in Andhra Pradesh is getting worst day by day as the government is looking in a revenge mood. In the last few days, the local authorities have seized as many as 50 theaters, citing several reasons. Released on December 15 ahead of the USA release (Dec. 17), "No Way Home" has become the highest-grossing title at the worldwide box office in 2021, surpassing China's The Battle At Lake Changjin.## The Marvel/Sony film will top the inevitable $1 billion global box office mark on most probably Christmas Day 2021 and will become the first title to reach the milestone in two years. The mahurat shot took place in the Mumbai suburbs on December 22. The movie will be shot at a live location in South Mumbai and then later in Pune. ## Merry Christmas is an edge-of-the-seat thriller. Hyderabad, December 24 - The situation of the theatrical business is getting bad to worse in Andhra Pradesh as the state government is going extremely hard and giving tough times to the theatrical releases in the state.## While the Telugu movies are already getting hit by the low ticket prices in theaters, it has now come to the light that the local authorities have seized several cinema halls, citing multiple reasons. As per reports, as many as 50 centers in the Krishna district of Andhra Pradesh were seized on Friday, and so were all 7 of the cinema halls in Madanapalle, Chittoor district.## The unfortunate closure of theatres in the state is badly affecting the business of Nani-starrer "Shyam Singha Roy", which hit the big screens on Friday (Dec. 24). Actor Nani is one of the Telugu actors, who has been critical of the state government for controlling the ticket prices of movies in theaters. ## Earlier, yesterday, during the media interaction, Nani called the ongoing situation "an insult" to the industry. Whatever is happening is not right. We must keep political issues separate from movie-related issues," Nani said adding, "I can't even put into words rightly.
