Meera Chopra issues an apology to the late Sushant Singh Rajput on behalf of the film industry

Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput died on June 14 after he committed suicide at his Mumbai apartment. The actor said to be going through depression for a long time. The ever-smiling actor's untimely demise shocked the entire film industry. ## While his death has raised the issue of mental health, it has also revealed the dirty truth of the film industry which has no room for the outsiders. Actress Meera Chopra who has worked in several Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu movies too had to say about the same. ## She issued a statement apologizing to the late Sushant Singh Rajput on the behalf of the entire film industry for not being with the actor when he was battling alone with depression for a long time. ## The statement also reveals how cruel this film industry for outsiders. Issuing the statement on Tweeter, the 36-year old actress has also requested the industry members including the directors and producers to help people when they are in need. ## "We are working and living in an industry which is cruel, cold and ruthless. We all knew well that Sushant was going depression for long, but what did we do? Where was his close circle, the directors, producers he's worked with, his close friends? Why nobody came out and helped, gave him the kind of love, the work he wanted - because nobody care".## "I am sorry to say but nobody gives a shit about what you are going through. If your 1 movie flops then they start treating you like untouchable. True, Bollywood is a small family, but a kind of family that is never there when you need them. He had to take his life for that family to realise the kind of pain and need he was in".## "An outsider will always feel like an outsider here. I just wana say to my industry that help people when they need it. There is no point tweeting when they are no more. Don't pretend to be sad when you guys didn't do anything when he was sad. Stop being such a hypocritical society".## "Sushant, your death is a personal loss, the way I see my industry will never be the same anymore. We have failed you, this industry has failed you. You deserved better my friend. I am so sorry!!," she concluded.## My apology to #sushant on behalf of the entire industry and a humble request to my industry folks!! pic.twitter.com/PJHhet6V6I— meera chopra (@MeerraChopra) June 15, 2020 ## Stay tuned...

BCCI should think of holding IPL 2020 in Sri Lanka in September, says Sunil Gavaskar

Legendary Indian opener Sunil Gavaskar said that the BCCI should consider holding the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020 in Sri Lanka in September as he thinks that BCCI's plan of organizing the tournament in October looking far from reality after the Australia government has formally announced that 25 percent crowd can turn up for sporting events that have opened the door for the T20 World Cup that is scheduled to play in Australia in October. ## "After the announcement by the Australian government, there seems to be a possibility of conducting a World T20 in October. Maybe the teams will have to reach three weeks earlier, have seven days of practice games and also 14-day quarantine," Gavaskar told Sports Tak of Aaj Tak.## "If ICC believes that World T20 can happen, then having IPL looks difficult because it could only be held if World T20 is postponed but after the announcement (by Australia PM Scott Morrison), IPL in October looks difficult," he added.## While the T20 World Cup is looking more imminent than the IPL in October, Sunny G believes that holding IPL in Sri Lanka in September makes more sense as it can't be held in India around that time because of the monsoon.## "September you can't have IPL in India due to monsoon. But maybe in Sri Lanka from early September with teams playing each other once instead of a double header. Maybe you can think of that," Gavaskar said. ## The 70-year old also thinks that without the crowd, cricket will be a different experience as fans lift players' game. "Fans lift your game. The atmosphere is very different when they are present. Obviously players will lose out on that. Also, they will be wary of a team huddle, also may be a fist bump after a good shot".## Stay tuned...

"It makes me sick that there are monuments that celebrate racist historical figures who did evil things": Taylor Swift On Black Lives Matter

American singer-songwriter Taylor Swift on Saturday (June 13) calls out for the unity of all Tennesseans by taking down statues of the historical figures who did bad things through systemic oppression of hatred and violence on the black community. ## The singer took to Twitter and wrote a thread of Tweets, "As a Tennessean, it makes me sick that there are monuments standing in our state that celebrate racist historical figures who did evil things. Edward Carmack and Nathan Bedford Forrest were DESPICABLE figures in our state history and should be treated as such".## "Taking down statues isn’t going to fix centuries of systemic oppression, violence and hatred that black people have had to endure but it might bring us one small step closer to making ALL Tennesseans and visitors to our state feel safe - not just the white ones," she wrote in another tweet.## She tweeted another saying that it is hurtful to continue fighting for those monuments that have a racist history. "I’m asking the Capitol Commission and the Tennessee Historical Commission to please consider the implications of how hurtful it would be to continue fighting for these monuments".## "When you fight to honor racists, you show black Tennesseans and all of their allies where you stand, and you continue this cycle of hurt. You can’t change history, but you can change this".## In the US, several monuments have been vandalized in the past few weeks as a retaliation against the death of a 46-year-old African-American man named George Floyd allegedly due to police brutality on May 25. ## Taylor Swift also slammed President of the United States of America, Donald Trump over his remark on protesters in Minnesota when he tweeted that the protesters should be shot. Not only Taylor Swift, Lady Gaga too lashed out on President Trump for his insensitive tweets. ## Stay tuned...
