Maddock Films' Shakti Shalini Locks Release Date As Aneet Padda Set To Headline

Mumbai, October 21: Maddock Films has officially announced the release date for its next addition to the popular horror-comedy universe, Shakti Shalini. The film, set to be headlined by Saiyaara fame Aneet Padda, is slated to hit theatres on December 24, 2026, marking a grand festive release during the Christmas weekend. The announcement of the film's release date with Aneet Padda as the lead was made through a special teaser attached to Thamma, another Maddock production that released in theatres on October 21. The glimpse introduced Padda as the Mother of MHCU, setting the tone for a quirky yet thrilling addition to the franchise. Shakti Shalini continues Maddock's successful horror-comedy legacy that includes hits like Stree, Roohi, Bhediya, and the latest Thamma. Interestingly, reports suggest that the role was initially written for Kiara Advani, but the makers later finalised Aneet Padda, who has been making waves with her performances in Saiyaara and other recent ventures. Industry insiders see this as a major breakthrough for the young actor, positioning her as one of the promising new faces in Bollywood. The post-credit teaser in Thamma also hinted at a larger connection between Shakti Shalini and the rest of Maddock’s horror-comedy universe, teasing a crossover storyline that will reportedly culminate in an ensemble film. With a strategic Christmas 2026 release, Shakti Shalini is expected to be one of Maddock Films' biggest projects, combining star power, franchise continuity, and festive timing to deliver a crowd-pulling entertainer. Harshvardhan Rane's Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat Box Office Preview/Opening Expectations: Eyes Double-Digit Start

Mumbai, October 21 - Romantic drama Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat, starring Harshvardhan Rane and Sonam Bajwa, is gearing up for a promising opening at the box office. The film has surprised trade analysts with its good advance booking trend, signalling a strong start despite a modest star cast. Directed by Milap Zaveri, Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat has clocked 4 crores in advance bookings (including block seats) for its opening day. This figure is notably higher than Akshay Kumar's Kesari Chapter 2, underscoring the unexpectedly strong interest the film has generated among audiences. Trade trackers note that the advances are surprisingly good for the cast involved, especially considering the film's romantic drama genre and mid-tier positioning. The advance numbers, coupled with the Diwali holiday effect, have positioned Deewaniyat for a healthy start in the range of 8–10 crores on opening day. Adding to its advantage, the film releases a day after Diwali, traditionally regarded as one of the best days for the box office. With families and younger audiences expected to flock to cinemas, Deewaniyat is likely to see a surge in spot bookings across urban and semi-urban centres. If the early trends sustain through the day, Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat could well emerge as a dark horse this festive season, potentially posting one of the strongest openings for a low-budget romantic drama in recent times. Director Ayan Mukerji Sparks Fresh Buzz For Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt's Brahmastra Part 2

Mumbai, October 20 - After the box office debacle of Yash Raj Films' War 2, director Ayan Mukerji seems to have started work on Brahmastra Part 2 - Dev, which was supposed to be his next directorial after Part 1 in 2022. The filmmaker has shared a series of pictures which have sparked a fresh buzz for Part 2. On October 19, Ayan took to Instagram to share some pictures from what looks like a mountain getaway in Uttarakhand and captioned them as Pt. 2 with an Om emoji, which hints at the Brahmastra Part 2. Fans also spotted a blurry glimpse of the script of Brahmastra Part 2 in his pictures. The latest post by Ayan Mukerji has almost confirmed that Brahmastra 2 will be his next directorial, featuring Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt in the leading roles. With this, it has also been confirmed that he won't be directing YRF's Dhoom 4, which will reportedly be headlined by Ranbir Kapoor. Ayan was the first choice to helm the fourth instalment of the heist actioner, but the disastrous box office result of War 2 has made the makers rethink the strategy. According to Bollywood Hungama, "Ayan believes that films like War 2 and Dhoom 4 were never meant for him, and he wants to do something a lot wider with scope for romance, drama with spectacle vibes and storytelling". "Both Aditya Chopra and Ranbir Kapoor understood Ayan's point of view and have parted ways on the right note (on Dhoom 4). Ayan is now working on Brahmastra 2 and will take the film on floors in 2026. The writing work is concluded, and some polishing is going on during his stay in the Himalayas", says the report. Shah Rukh Khan, Kajol's Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge: 30 Years of Romance, Culture, and Legacy

Mumbai, October 20 — Three decades ago, on this very day in 1995, a young filmmaker named Aditya Chopra changed the course of Indian cinema with his directorial debut Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge. Starring Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol, the film wasn't just another romantic drama; it became an emotion, a cultural milestone, and a cinematic legacy that continues to live in the hearts of millions around the world, not just in India. DDLJ brought with it a refreshing take on love and family values. It told the story of Raj (SRK) and Simran (Kajol), two young Indians raised abroad who fall in love on a European trip, only to find their bond tested by tradition and parental expectations. In an era when Bollywood romances often rebelled against family authority, DDLJ stood out because it embraced it, which the audience loved and resonated with. Indian Cinema Prepares For Its Most Ambitious Line-up Yet With Ramayana, Varanasi, King, and More Aditya Chopra's vision struck a delicate balance — celebrating youthful passion while respecting the sanctity of family and culture. That combination gave Indian audiences something deeply familiar yet beautifully modern. The film's setting, moving from the train rides across Europe to the mustard fields of Punjab, gave it an expansive visual appeal. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) Cinematographer Manmohan Singh's lens captured a fairytale world that felt both aspirational and comforting. It was a love story that spoke not just to Indians at home, but also to the diaspora who longed for a connection to their roots. Jatin-Lalit's timeless music, Anand Bakshi's poetic lyrics, and the unforgettable voices of Lata Mangeshkar, Kumar Sanu, and Udit Narayan. Songs like "Tujhe Dekha To," "Mehndi Laga Ke Rakhna," and "Ruk Ja O Dil Deewane" became anthems of love and celebration. Even today, they play at weddings, bringing generations together in nostalgia and joy. Aneet Padda's Shakti Shalini To Be The Most Important Film of MHCU, Amar Kaushik Reveals Reason But perhaps what made DDLJ truly iconic was the chemistry between Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol. Their charm, innocence, and authenticity transformed Raj and Simran into symbols of ideal love. Shah Rukh's playful confidence and Kajol's grace created moments that felt effortlessly real — from the laughter of the Europe trip to the emotional intensity of the film's climax. The final train scene, with Raj's outstretched hand and Simran's desperate run, remains one of Indian cinema's most unforgettable moments. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) As DDLJ turns 30, it holds a record few films can claim. The movie continues to run at Mumbai's Maratha Mandir theatre, maintaining its status as the longest-running film in Indian history. For many, watching it there isn't just about nostalgia — it's a ritual, a connection to a simpler, more romantic era of Bollywood. Ideas of love, freedom, and family have evolved, and today's romances often explore different kinds of relationships. Yet, Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge endures because its heart remains pure. It speaks of love that is patient, love that seeks acceptance, and love that triumphs through respect and understanding. It wasn't just a film; it was a moment in time that defined how a generation dreamed of love. Kartik Aaryan, Ananya Pandey's Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri Teaser Sets Viewership Record For A Rom-Com Three decades later, Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge stands not merely as a classic but as a cultural phenomenon that redefined Bollywood romance. It gave us a new definition of love — one that bridges continents, generations, and emotions. As audiences revisit Raj and Simran's journey today, they're not just watching a film; they're reliving a feeling — one that reminds us that no matter how much the world changes, love, at its purest, never goes out of style. Rishab Shetty's Kantara Chapter 1 Enters All-Time Greats List Alongside Baahubali 2, KGF 2 and Jailer At The Domestic Box Office

Bengaluru, October 19: Rishab Shetty's Kantara Chapter 1 continues its historic box office journey by achieving yet another remarkable milestone domestically. The film has now become only the fourth movie ever to gross over 50 crores each in South Indian states, solidifying its place among the all-time greatest blockbusters. On its 3rd Sunday (18th day), the period folk action thriller topped the 50 crores mark in Kerala, after already breaching the milestone in Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, and Andhra Pradesh/Telangana. This rare achievement places Kantara Chapter 1 in the same elite league as Baahubali 2, KGF: Chapter 2, and Jailer, the only other films to have achieved this feat. With this, Rishab Shetty's magnum opus has truly transcended linguistic and regional boundaries, emerging as a pan-South Indian phenomenon. It is also only the second Kannada movie to top 50 crores in Kerala after KGF Chapter 2. The film, produced by Hombale Films, has already rewritten record books in Karnataka, where it has grossed over 200 crores, becoming the highest-grossing movie ever in the state. Its performance in the neighbouring markets, along with North India, has been equally outstanding. After Karnataka, the prequel has also topped the 200 crores mark in the Hindi belt on its 18th day, and topped 100 crores gross in Telugu states. In Tamil Nadu, the film's sustained run despite multiple new releases speaks volumes about its strong audience connection. Kantara Chapter 1's blend of folklore, action, and spiritual mysticism continues to resonate deeply with audiences across linguistic lines — a feat few films have managed to achieve in recent times. With the festive season ongoing, the movie is far from its end and is on course to become the biggest Indian grosser of the year. Stay tuned...

Directed by Vivek Singh Chauhan, the film went on floors in June 2022 and was supposed to be released in 2023. However, the movie hit a roadblock as the shoot was paused for some reason. Now, as per the latest report by Mid-Day, the movie is readying to hit the big screen next year. It is said that the shoot of Baap has been completed, as the team is working on post-production work. Harshvardhan Rane and Sonam Bajwa's Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat Censor Certificate, Theatrical Runtime, and Plot Revealed

Mumbai, October 18 - After the big success of Sanam Teri Kasam re-release, actor Harshvardhan Rane returns to the big screen with another heartbreaking romantic drama titled Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat, co-starring Sonam Bajwa. Directed by Milap Zaveri, the film is scheduled to release on October 21st, clashing with Maddock Films' Thamma. Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat is having decent buzz, and the censor details have raised excitement for this intense love story drama. According to reports, the film has been censored with an A-rating (18+) by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC), making it the first A-rated Diwali release in more than two decades. It is said that CBFC has asked to modify a 2-minute 12-second shot, apart from replacing some dialogue. Ayushmann Khurrana, Rashmika Mandanna's Thamma Advance Booking Opens On A Positive Note; Early Box Office Prediction

Mumbai, October 17: The advance bookings for Ayushmann Khurrana and Rashmika Mandanna's big Diwali release Thamma have opened to an encouraging response, signalling a good start for the film at the domestic box office. Within hours of opening, Thamma managed to sell over 6,000 tickets across leading national chains such as PVR and INOX, while overall ticket sales have crossed the 12K mark for the opening day. Trade analysts note that this is an impressive start, especially considering that Thamma releases right after the Diwali festivities—traditionally a tricky window for advance sales. The early traction is being attributed to the fan following of Ayushmann and Rashmika, the appeal of the horror-comedy genre, and the growing interest in Maddock Films' expanding Horror Comedy Universe (MHCU). If the momentum continues, the film may score one of the biggest pre-sales of the year for a Bollywood title. Industry is hopeful that Thamma will bring a big crowd to theatres this coming Diwali weekend. The early trend suggests an opening of 20+ crores net, which can go to 30 crores, depending on how the sales proceed. With the film releasing on a Tuesday (October 21), it is expected to enjoy an extended five-day festive window, which could significantly enhance its cumulative box office collections. Directed by Aditya Sarpotdar and produced by Maddock Films, Thamma is certified U/A by the CBFC with a runtime of 2 hours and 30 minutes. The film features Ayushmann Khurrana, Rashmika Mandanna, and Nawazuddin Siddiqui in key roles, blending humour, horror, and emotion in a uniquely Indian storytelling style. Stay tuned...
