Jim Ross Signs New Deal With AEW, Plans To Focus On Pay-Per-Views
Legendary wrestling commentator Jim Ross has signed a new contract with All Elite Wrestling (AEW), as he revealed on the latest episode of his podcast, Grilling JR.
Ross's previous contract was set to expire on February 14th, but the new deal signifies his continued commitment to the company. He described the negotiation process as the "quickest and easiest" of his 50-year career, attributing it to AEW President Tony Khan's appreciation for his work.
While specific details haven't been disclosed, Ross mentioned a one-year term and an increased focus on pay-per-view events, including commentary roles and potential involvement in the growing number of big shows planned by AEW.
"I'm very happy to do that," Ross said about potentially focusing on pay-per-views. "We're adding more pay-per-views and big events. I'll be involved in some degree with those."
Ross also expressed his satisfaction with the financial terms of the agreement, highlighting Khan's effort to secure his continued presence in AEW. He recovered from a recent broken hip and continues his rehabilitation at home.
This new contract ensures that fans will continue to hear the iconic voice of Jim Ross calling major AEW events, particularly pay-per-views, for at least another year.
