'Kalki 2898 AD' Sells Over 1 Million Tickets For Opening Day; Creates All-Time Opening Day Pre-Sales Record In Hyderabad

Mumbai, June 25 - Pan India superstar Prabhas-fronted Kalki 2898 AD becomes the first Indian movie of 2024 to sell over 1.8 million tickets for the opening day with a few hours still left for the release and the final ticket count will be over 2 million.

The advance booking gross collection of Kalki is 56+ crores (including block seats) for the first day and it will finish around 60 crores gross before the first show begins which will be among the biggest pre-sales ever for an Indian title.



The Telugu version is leading the advance booking collection of the sci-fi epic with 40+ crores gross so far, followed by the Hindi version with 7+ crores gross. The Hindi version of the movie has had better pre-sales than Prabhas' last film, Salaar which indicates a very good start in Hindi.

Meanwhile, Kalki 2898 AD has created an all-time opening day pre-sales record in Hyderabad city by a long margin. It is currently 15+ crores gross, which is around 3 crores higher than the second placed, Salaar which scored approximately 12 crores pre-sales for the opening day in the city.

As per the rough projection, Kalki 2898 AD is expected to open with 120+ crores gross collection in India and 60+ crores gross overseas for 180+ crores worldwide opening with a chance to touch 200 crores opening day gross. If it does, it will be only the third Indian movie after RRR and Baahubali 2 to achieve the feat.

Produced by Vyjayanthi Movies, the movie stars Prabhas in the lead role alongside Amitabh Bachchan, Deepika Padukone, Kamal Haasan, and Disha Patani. Kalki 2898 AD is scheduled to release on June 27, 2024, in Telugu, Hindi, Malayalam, Kannada, and Tamil, in multiple formats including IMAX.
