There are 12 months in the Gregorian calendar which is widely used. Each month has a specific number of days, with the exception of February which has 28 days, except in leap years when it has 29 days. The months are also associated with certain traditions, festivals, and historical events.

January - 31 days, named after the Roman god Janus, the god of beginnings and endings. It is the first month of the year in the Gregorian calendar.



February - 28 days (29 days in leap years), named after the Roman festival of purification, Februa. It is the second month of the year in the Gregorian calendar.

March - 31 days, named after Mars, the Roman god of war. It is the third month of the year in the Gregorian calendar.

April - 30 days, named after the Greek goddess Aphrodite. It is the fourth month of the year in the Gregorian calendar.



May - 31 days, named after the Roman goddess Maia. It is the fifth month of the year in the Gregorian calendar.

June - 30 days, named after the Roman goddess Juno. It is the sixth month of the year in the Gregorian calendar.

July - 31 days, named after Julius Caesar. It is the seventh month of the year in the Gregorian calendar.



August - 31 days, named after Augustus Caesar. It is the eighth month of the year in the Gregorian calendar.

September - 30 days, derived from the Latin word "septem," meaning seven, as it was the seventh month in the ancient Roman calendar.

October - 31 days, derived from the Latin word "octo," meaning eight, as it was the eighth month in the ancient Roman calendar.

November - 30 days, derived from the Latin word "novem," meaning nine, as it was the ninth month in the ancient Roman calendar.

December - 31 days, derived from the Latin word "decem," meaning ten, as it was the tenth month in the ancient Roman calendar.
