India has the largest democratic country in the world. According to the election commission of India, there are 8 national parties are registered. All political parties have their own symbol. Any registered party that fulfill certain conditions can be recognized as a National Party.

1) It should win 2% of seats in the Lok Sabha at least in 3 different states.

2) In addition to 4 Lok Sabha seats, it should poll 6% of votes in four states at a General Election to Lok Sabha or Legislative Assembly.

3) The party should be recognized as a state party in 4 or more states.
