Mason Parris, a heavyweight wrestler, will step in for Steveson. It's not clear why Steveson withdrew from the tournament, but it appears that his WWE commitment might be the cause.
The Olympic Gold Medalist Steveson got drafted to the Raw brand as part of the 2021 WWE Draft, a storyline process where wrestlers are assigned to specific shows. This change took effect on October 22, 2021. He had his first in-ring match at the WWE NXT Great American Bash Premium live event at the H-E-B Center, where he beat Baron Corbin.
Steveson made a comeback to freestyle wrestling at the 2023 US Open Wrestling Championships after his last match at the Tokyo Olympics. Furthermore, he secured victory at the 2023 Final X, earning the privilege to represent the United States at the 2023 World Wrestling Championships.
