SS Rajamouli Scores Hat-Trick Of Centuries With RRR In Hindi

Mumbai, March 30 - SS Rajamouli is in the top form at the box office. The maverick filmmaker scored his third consecutive century and maintained his 100% success ratio in the elite 100 crores club in Hindi. It all began with Prabhas-fronted "Baahubali" in 2015, which also happened to be a debut for both SSR and Prabhas in the key box office market.

The filmmaker's latest offering "RRR" with Jr. NTR, and Ram Charan in the lead has crossed the 100 crores net mark in Hindi, and it took just 5 days to reach there. As mentioned in the previous articles, "RRR" has become the joint-fastest to reach the box office milestone in post-pandemic time.

Set in 1920, the period action drama film has scored 107.59 crores net in 5 days and will cross "Baahubali" (118.5 cr.) today (most probably) to become Rajamouli's second biggest-grosser after "Baahuabli 2" (510.99 cr.). Though the BB2's record is looking a far cry, the latest outing is poised to go big as it might finish over 250 crores net. Worldwide, it has already grossed 600 crores.

Rajamouli has become a top name in the modern era of filmmaking. He provides larger-than-life cinema that directly turns into a massive box office outcome. His "RRR" falls in the same category that gives audiences experience worth their money. Such has been the magic of Rajamouli's filmmaking with powerful performances of the lead cast that despite high ticket prices, which are up to 2500 rs., the audiences are willing to pay to experience this cinematic masterpiece.

"RRR" is not only getting well-deserved appreciation in India but also overseas where the movie is equally being loved by the audiences and critics. The Tomatometer approved film critic and writer at Variety, Courtney Howard called "RRR" "an invigorating, indelible EXPERIENCE".

It was, however, not easy for Rajamouli and the team of "RRR" to bring the movie on the big screen as its release was postponed multiple times due to the covid-19 pandemic. However, the makers were committed to bringing the film to the big screen which is now visible as to why they waited for so long.

With "RRR", Jr. NTR and Ram Charan have also opened their account in the 100 crore club in Hindi. While Ram Charan has already worked in a Hindi movie called "Zanjeer", it was the debut Hindi outing for Jr. NTR. SS Rajamouli, meanwhile, will be working on his next Pan-India film with Telugu superstar Mahesh Babu. It will go on floors sometime next year and as said by the filmmaker himself, the upcoming movie will be bigger than "RRR" and "Baahubali" films.

Stay tuned...

Ram Charan's latest release, Peddi, has reached a significant milestone by surpassing 2 million ticket sales on BookMyShow. This mark was achieved in just 2.5 days, as the film crossed the threshold by midday on its third day. The steady pace of bookings suggests that the movie is successfully maintaining its momentum through the first weekend. This achievement places the film among the elite fast-movers in Indian cinema history. By reaching this figure in 2.5 days, Peddi has officially tied with RRR for the fourth-fastest record on the platform. The current standings for the fastest films to reach the 2 million sales mark are as follows: 1st Place: Pushpa 2: The Rule – Reached via pre-release bookings alone 2nd Place: Kalki 2898 AD – 1.5 Days 3rd Place: Baahubali 2: The Conclusion – 2 Days 4th Place: RRR and Peddi – 2.5 Days (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) Securing a spot alongside legendary titles like Baahubali 2 and RRR is a huge statement for any film. The momentum started early with a robust pre-sale period that saw 874,900 tickets sold. The opening day on Thursday was explosive, adding 651,040 tickets, while Friday maintained a strong hold with another 387,780 tickets. By the early hours of Saturday, the cumulative total had reached 1,913,720, and it quickly surged past the 2 million mark shortly after. The intensity of the audience's interest is also evident in the peak hour data. Peddi recorded a peak of 47,330 tickets sold in a single hour on BookMyShow. This performance places it fourth in the all-time peak hour rankings, only trailing behind Pushpa 2, Kalki 2898 AD, and Salaar. It managed to outperform several other massive releases in this metric, showing the sheer density of demand during prime booking slots. Here is the list of the top peak hour performances on BMS: 1. Pushpa 2 - 107.65K 2. Kalki 2898 AD - 95.71K 3. Salaar - 54.76K 4. Peddi - 47.33K 5. The Raja Saab - 44.36K 6. Devara - 38.02K 7. While the very early morning slots between 6 am and 9 am were slightly quieter than Friday, the numbers began to jump significantly from 9 am onwards. For instance, between 10 am and 11 am, the film sold 24,480 tickets compared to 23,870 yesterday. The 11 am to 12 pm window was even better, with 27,350 tickets sold today against 21,940 yesterday. Overall, the cumulative sales from 6 am to 12 pm today stand at 97,080, which is higher than yesterday's 92,850 for the same period. According to early trends, Peddi has had a strong start at the box office. On its second day, the film collected 26.90 crore net in India across 10,113 shows. While this represents a 47.3 percent drop from the 51.00 crore net collected on opening day, it is a standard trend for big-budget releases heading into the weekend. The total India net collection now stands at 96.40 crore, while the India gross has reached 114.49 crore. Combined with a steady overseas gross of 36.00 crore, the worldwide total gross for Peddi has touched 150.49 crore in just two days. This upward trend on Saturday suggests that the film is heading toward a massive first weekend. Crossing the 2 million mark within 72 hours is a rare feat that highlights the immense star power of Ram Charan and the strong connect the film has found with the masses. We will keep tracking these numbers closely as Peddi continues its historic run at the box office.

Hyderabad, June 6 - Superstar Ram Charan's sports action drama Peddi had a solid hold on its second day after a massive opening despite facing criticism over certain portions of the film. Directed by Buchi Babu Sana, the big-budget Telugu entertainer has crossed the 150 crore mark worldwide within just two days of its theatrical release, emerging as one of the biggest openers of 2026. Peddi Crosses 150 Crore Worldwide (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) After a sensational opening day of over 100 crores gross, Peddi maintained a strong hold on its second day and took its worldwide gross collection to approximately 150+ crore. It crossed the 100 crore gross mark on the second day, with the Telugu-speaking states contributing the majority of its earnings. The film had opened to a massive 110.50 crore worldwide gross on day one, giving Ram Charan one of the biggest openings of his career. Despite the expected drop on the second day, the overall momentum remains strong heading into the weekend, as the film will be eyeing 275 crores 4-day opening frame globally. Buchi Babu Sana Addresses Criticism (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) While the box office numbers have been encouraging, Peddi has also sparked debate online over the portrayal of Janhvi Kapoor's character Achiyyamma and certain romantic scenes involving the lead pair. Responding to the criticism, director Buchi Babu Sana admitted that he did not expect the scenes to receive such a negative reaction from audiences. The filmmaker said that the intention was to present a playful romantic angle but acknowledged the concerns raised by viewers. He shared on X that after the feedback, they have decided to make changes to the concerned portions. His comments have generated significant discussion across social media, with many appreciating the director's willingness to acknowledge audience feedback. Every 100 Crore Telugu Opener Worldwide; Ram Charan's Peddi Joins Prabhas Dominated List

Hyderabad, June 5 - Superstar Ram Charan has added another major milestone to his career with Peddi. Directed by Buchi Babu Sana, the sports action drama stormed past the coveted 100 crore worldwide gross mark on its opening day, becoming the 11th Telugu film to achieve the feat. The film earned around 110 crore worldwide on Day 1, including more than 82 crore from India and approximately 28 crore from overseas markets. The 100 crores opening day achievement further cements Telugu cinema's dominance in the pan-Indian market, where event films have consistently delivered massive opening-day numbers over the last decade. What started with Baahubali 2 in 2017 has now become a benchmark for the industry's biggest releases. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) Prabhas Continues To Rule The List One of the most striking aspects of the elite club is the overwhelming presence of Pan India superstar Prabhas. The actor headlines six of the eleven films on the list, with Baahubali 2, Saaho, Adipurush, Salaar, Kalki 2898 AD, and The Raja Saab. No other Telugu actor, or say an Indian actor, comes close to matching that level of representation. Prabhas' consistent ability to deliver record-breaking openings across genres has made him the undisputed king of opening-day box-office records in Indian cinema. The remaining entries belong to some of the industry's biggest stars, including Ram Charan (RRR and Peddi), Jr NTR (RRR and Devara), Allu Arjun (Pushpa 2), and Pawan Kalyan (They Call Him OG). While RRR had previously crossed the 100 crore worldwide opening-day mark, it was a multi-starrer alongside Jr NTR and backed by the massive brand value of director S. S. Rajamouli. Peddi becomes Charan's first solo-led film to enter the coveted club, proving his box office strength outside of franchise and multi-starrer setups. The opening also comes as a major boost for the actor following the disappointing theatrical performance of Game Changer earlier last year.

Directed by Buchi Babu Sana, Peddi is a sports-action drama headlined by Ram Charan in the titular role. The film features Janhvi Kapoor as the female lead, while Shiva Rajkumar, Divyendu Sharma and Jagapathi Babu play key supporting roles. Backed by Mythri Movie Makers in association with Vriddhi Cinemas and Sukumar Writings, the film arrived in theatres carrying substantial expectations following its promotional campaign, teaser launch and strong advance bookings. Set against a rural backdrop, Peddi revolves around an underdog whose journey is intertwined with sport, ambition and personal challenges, with the narrative blending action, emotion and mass-commercial elements. The strong pre-release buzz surrounding the film translated into exceptional demand for premiere shows, helping Peddi collect ₹21.83 crore and secure the third spot among the highest premiere grossers in Indian cinema history. Ram Charan's Peddi has started its theatrical run on a strong note. After recording one of the biggest premiere performances in Indian cinema history, the film followed it up with an estimated ₹51 crore net collection on its opening day, taking its total India net collection to ₹69.50 crore within just two days of release. The film's impressive start was powered by a ₹21.83 crore premiere gross, which helped Peddi secure the third spot among the highest premiere grossers in Indian cinema. The feat places the film behind only Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge and They Call Him OG on the all-time list. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) Top Premiere Grossers in IndiaRANKMOVIE NAMEPREMIERE GROSS1Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge₹51.60 Cr2They Call Him OG₹24.78 Cr3Peddi₹21.83 Cr4Hari Hara Veera Mallu₹15.05 Cr5Pushpa 2: The Rule₹12.57 Cr While Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge remains comfortably ahead with a ₹51.60 crore premiere gross, Peddi's entry into the top three is significant given the competition. The film surpassed Hari Hara Veera Mallu's ₹15.05 crore premiere gross by nearly ₹7 crore and outperformed Pushpa 2: The Rule's ₹12.57 crore premiere figure by over ₹9 crore. Peddi also came within ₹3 crore of They Call Him OG, which currently occupies the second position on the all-time list. The latest ranking highlights how premiere shows have evolved into a major box office event in India. In recent years, films such as Pushpa 2: The Rule, Hari Hara Veera Mallu, They Call Him OG and now Peddi have generated substantial revenue even before the commencement of regular shows, reflecting the growing influence of advance bookings and fan-driven demand. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) Among the five films on the list, four belong to the Telugu film industry, underlining the strength of the market when it comes to premiere and special-show business. Peddi's ₹21.83 crore premiere gross is the third-highest ever recorded by an Indian film, trailing only Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge and They Call Him OG. According to early estimates, the momentum generated by Peddi's record-breaking premiere run carried into its opening day as well. The film is estimated to have collected around ₹51 crore net on Day 1, reflecting a growth of approximately 176% over its premiere-day net collection. If these estimates hold, the film's cumulative India gross collection would stand at around ₹82.49 crore, while its worldwide gross could cross ₹112 crore, including roughly ₹30 crore from overseas markets. For Ram Charan, the latest milestone adds another notable achievement to his box office record. While the film now stands among the top premiere performers in Indian cinema, its opening-day numbers suggest that the strong premiere response was not merely fan-driven frontloading but translated into substantial theatrical business as well. With Peddi already crossing ₹100 crore worldwide gross within its first two days, all eyes are now on its weekend trajectory and whether it can maintain the momentum generated by its record-setting premiere and opening-day performance.

The film has emerged as one of the biggest openers in Telugu cinema history and has become the 11th Telugu film to achieve the coveted ₹100 crore worldwide opening-day milestone. Strong Momentum From Premiere Shows (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) According to early estimates, Peddi has earned more than 80 crore gross in India on its first day, with Telugu states contributing around 67 crore, including premieres. The film witnessed exceptional occupancy across Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, while Karnataka and other markets also contributed significantly to the overall tally. The overseas territories added another 28-30 crore gross, taking the film's worldwide opening-day collection around 110 crore. The strong international performance was led by North America, where the film enjoyed an excellent response at the premieres and on day 1. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) The blockbuster opening was aided by the film's stellar premiere performance. Peddi had already grossed around 40 crore worldwide from preview shows, including approximately 18.50 crore from the Telugu states and 3.10 crore from Karnataka. The film also recorded more than $1.5 million in North America from premiere screenings alone, indicating strong demand ahead of its official release. 11th Telugu Film To Achieve 100+ Crore Opening With its massive first-day haul, Peddi has entered an exclusive league of Telugu blockbusters that have crossed 100 crore worldwide on the opening day. Since Baahubali 2 became the first 100 crores opener of Indian cinema, there have been a total of 11 Telugu films, including Peddi, to score a 100 crores worldwide start. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) The achievement highlights Ram Charan's box-office pull and marks one of the biggest openings of his career. The result is particularly significant for the actor as it comes after the disappointing theatrical performance of Game Changer, reaffirming his status as one of Telugu cinema's biggest stars. The initial word of mouth for Peddi seems to be positive, and with a worldwide opening of 110 crore, the film has laid a solid foundation for a huge opening weekend. The coming days will determine how far the film can capitalise on its extraordinary start and progress towards its long-term box-office goals.

Peddi Day 1 Box Office: Ram Charan Starrer Hits 1 Million Tickets Milestone on BookMyShow

BY SACNILK

The highly anticipated rural sports drama Peddi has officially hit the theaters today, and the response at the ticket windows is proving to be massive. Marking the first collaboration between Global Star Ram Charan and director Buchi Babu Sana, the film has already crossed a major milestone by selling over 1 million tickets on BookMyShow so far. This achievement, which includes both the advance bookings and the rapid current day sales, confirms the ground-level hype for the project set against the backdrop of 1980s rural Andhra Pradesh. When we look at the final pre-sales data, Peddi secured a prestigious position among the biggest Telugu openers since 2024. The film concluded its advance booking window with 875,000 tickets sold on BookMyShow, making it the 5th highest pre-seller for a Telugu movie in recent years. By crossing this mark, it comfortably surpassed the final advance booking numbers of major films like OG, Game Changer, and Guntur Kaaram. While it sits behind massive releases like Pushpa 2, Kalki 2898 AD, and Devara, entering the top five list suggested early on that the film was carrying heavy blockbuster momentum. The ticket sales trajectory since this morning has been particularly aggressive, helping the film reach that 1 million mark quickly. Starting from 6 am, the hourly bookings on BookMyShow showed a rapid upward climb. In the first hour, the film sold about 8,400 tickets, but this number surged as the morning progressed. Between 10 am and 11 am, sales peaked at approximately 43,500 tickets. By noon today, the total tickets sold within just the first six hours of the day reached nearly 1.80 lakh. This kind of morning madness indicates that spot bookings are exceptionally high, particularly in the Telugu states where the opening buzz is fueling the demand. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) The performance within national multiplex chains also reflects this large-scale opening. For Day 1, the major chains have recorded a gross of approximately 1.70 crore( As of 2 pm in the afternoon) .This comes from nearly 54,000 tickets sold across these premium screens. While these figures represent the urban center trend, the jump in current day bookings shows that the city audience has turned up in full force for the release day shows. A national chain occupancy of nearly 30 percent on its first day is a positive indicator of its overall theatrical potential. With a runtime of 3 hours and 9 minutes, Peddi is being mounted as an emotional big-screen entertainer centered around a community-driven sports story. The combination of Ram Charan's screen presence and Buchi Babu Sana's storytelling seems to have resonated well with the viewers. As we move into the evening and night shows, the focus will be on the final Day 1 totals to see where this rural drama ranks among the biggest openers for the actor, especially to see if it can secure the second spot in his career right behind RRR.

Hyderabad, June 3 - Rumours have been circulating on social media suggesting that Allu Arjun's highly anticipated collaboration with director Lokesh Kanagaraj, tentatively called AA23, may have been shelved. However, the latest developments indicate that the project remains very much on track. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) The film was officially announced on January 14, 2026, by Mythri Movie Makers, marking the first-ever collaboration between Allu Arjun and Lokesh Kanagaraj. The announcement video generated massive excitement among fans, and it was confirmed that the project would begin production in 2026. In April 2026, updates revealed that script work for the project was actively underway, with the makers focusing on developing the screenplay before moving into full-scale production. Reports also suggested that shooting was planned to commence during 2026 after the completion of pre-production activities. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) The speculation regarding the project cancellation appears to stem from the lengthy pre-production process and the busy schedules of both Allu Arjun and Lokesh Kanagaraj. According to the Tamil industry tracker, Ramesh Bala, all the rumours surrounding the project being shelved are completely baseless. The film is very much on track and progressing exactly as planned. At present, there is no official statement from the actor, director, or production house suggesting that AA23 has been shelved. On the contrary, the most recent reports indicate that the film remains in development, with scripting and pre-production continuing ahead of its planned shoot. Given the scale of the collaboration and the expectations surrounding the project, fans may have to wait longer than expected.

Peddi Box Office: Ram Charan Starrer Sets 500 Crore Worldwide Target

BY SACNILK

Hyderabad, June 3 - Superstar Ram Charan is all set to return to the big screen with Peddi, one of the most anticipated Telugu films of the year. Directed by Buchi Babu Sana, the sports action drama carries enormous expectations, not just because of its scale and star power, but also because of the box-office target it reportedly needs to meet. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) According to trade estimates, Peddi has a break-even target of around 500 crore worldwide gross, making it one of the riskiest and most ambitious projects in Ram Charan's career. As a result, the film cannot afford to finish below that figure if it hopes to emerge as a successful theatrical venture. Crossing the 500 crore mark would be a significant achievement for the actor. It would become Ram Charan's second film after RRR to enter the prestigious club. More importantly, it would be the first solo-led film of his career to reach the milestone, as RRR was a multi-starrer featuring Jr. NTR alongside him. The Path To 500 Crore Worldwide Is Anything But Easy (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) While the makers are confident about the film's prospects and the promotional material has generated considerable excitement among audiences, the outcome will depend on audience reception after release. Strong word-of-mouth, repeat viewership, and sustained collections beyond the opening weekend will be crucial if Peddi is to achieve its ambitious target. The pressure on Ram Charan is also considerably higher than usual due to the performance of his recent films. His last release, Game Changer, was expected to be a major blockbuster and capitalise on the goodwill generated by RRR. Instead, the film failed to meet expectations and ultimately became a box-office disaster. Before that, Acharya, which featured megastar Chiranjeevi in the lead role with Ram Charan playing an extended role, also underperformed at the box office despite carrying significant hype before release. The back-to-back setbacks have increased expectations surrounding Peddi, with trade observers viewing it as a crucial film for the actor's box office standing. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) Fortunately for the makers, the film has several factors working in its favour. Ram Charan continues to enjoy massive popularity across domestic and overseas markets following the global success of RRR. The film's rural sports backdrop, large-scale production values, and music by A. R. Rahman have also helped generate strong pre-release buzz. Nevertheless, buzz alone will not guarantee success. The film must convert anticipation into sustained ticket sales if it wants to justify its massive theatrical valuation. With a reported ₹500 crore worldwide target against the budget of 350 crores, Peddi faces one of the toughest box office challenges of any Indian film this year. For Ram Charan, the stakes could not be higher. A successful run would not only give him his first solo 500 crore grosser but also provide the blockbuster comeback he has been seeking since Game Changer. Failure, on the other hand, would raise fresh questions about the commercial viability of big-budget star vehicles in the post-RRR era. The film is scheduled to release on June 4.

The detailed sales breakdown shared by Venky Box Office highlights the film's widespread appeal across premium formats and major theatre chains. Standard screens have contributed $505,045 from 19,279 tickets, while premium formats such as XD, RPX, D-Box and other PLF screens have collectively added nearly $280,000 to the total. Among theatre chains, Cinemark has emerged as the biggest contributor with $466,707 from 16,344 tickets sold, followed by Regal with $160,766. The data also shows healthy growth across premium screens, indicating strong audience interest in experiencing Peddi in enhanced formats, a trend usually associated with major event releases. Across North America, the film's premiere advance sales currently stand at $870,000 with 31,237 tickets sold. Given the strong momentum witnessed over the past few days, trade analysts expect a huge last-minute surge that could push the film past the seven-figure milestone before premieres commence.Crossing $1 million in North America premiere advance sales has traditionally been considered a prestigious benchmark for Telugu cinema. Only a handful of films have managed to enter this exclusive club over the years. Blockbusters such as Baahubali 2: The Conclusion, Agnyaathavaasi, Saaho, RRR, Adipurush, Salaar, Guntur Kaaram, Kalki 2898 AD, Devara, Pushpa 2: The Rule, Game Changer, They Call Him OG, and The Raja Saab have all achieved the feat. Peddi now looks set to become the latest addition to that elite list. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) The strong overseas response reflects the anticipation surrounding the film. Directed by Buchi Babu Sana, Peddi marks the filmmaker's first collaboration with Ram Charan. Ever since the project was announced, it has generated considerable buzz thanks to its rural sports-drama backdrop and the intriguing character transformation undertaken by the star. The film boasts an impressive cast led by Ram Charan and Janhvi Kapoor. Veteran Kannada superstar Shiva Rajkumar plays a crucial role, while Jagapathi Babu and Divyendu Sharma add further depth to the ensemble. The project has also attracted attention for its technical team, particularly with Academy Award-winning composer A.R. Rahman handling the music. One of the biggest positives for Peddi has been its growing momentum in overseas markets. North America remains one of the most important territories for Telugu films outside India, and a strong premiere performance often serves as a foundation for a successful theatrical run. The current advance sales trend suggests that audiences are responding positively to the film's promotional material and pre-release buzz. However, the film faces substantial box office expectations after release. According to the figures shared by Venky Box Office, Peddi's North America breakeven target across all languages has been pegged at $6.5 million. Meanwhile, the overall overseas breakeven point stands at approximately $9 million. While the advance sales indicate a promising start, the film will need sustained audience support over the coming weeks to achieve those targets. For now, all eyes remain on the $1 million milestone. With North America premiere advance sales already at $870,000 and two valuable days of bookings still remaining, Peddi appears well-positioned to join one of Telugu cinema's most exclusive overseas clubs even before its first show begins.

Outside the home market, Peddi's pre-release theatrical business in Karnataka has been valued at 17 crore, while the rest of the domestic market has been valued at 32+ crores, including 25 crores for the Hindi region. At the overseas box office, the makers have locked a 34 crore deal, which is among the highest for a Ram Charan starrer. Huge Break-Even Challenge (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) With such a massive valuation, Peddi faces a huge box office target. To break even and emerge as a box office hit, the film needs to gross around 450 crores worldwide, which will make it Ram Charan's biggest solo grosser and second biggest overall after RRR, if it achieves the target. Distributors are banking on strong openings, premium pricing, and sustained audience reception to recover the investment comfortably. Also starring Janhvi Kapoor, Shiva Rajkumar, and Jagapathi Babu, with music composed by A. R. Rahman, Peddi is scheduled for a grand worldwide release on June 4, 2026. Trade analysts expect the film to register one of the biggest openings of the year and potentially challenge several existing Telugu box office records.
