SS Rajamouli Scores Hat-Trick Of Centuries With RRR In Hindi
Mumbai, March 30 - SS Rajamouli is in the top form at the box office. The maverick filmmaker scored his third consecutive century and maintained his 100% success ratio in the elite 100 crores club in Hindi. It all began with Prabhas-fronted "Baahubali" in 2015, which also happened to be a debut for both SSR and Prabhas in the key box office market.
The filmmaker's latest offering "RRR" with Jr. NTR, and Ram Charan in the lead has crossed the 100 crores net mark in Hindi, and it took just 5 days to reach there. As mentioned in the previous articles, "RRR" has become the joint-fastest to reach the box office milestone in post-pandemic time.
Set in 1920, the period action drama film has scored 107.59 crores net in 5 days and will cross "Baahubali" (118.5 cr.) today (most probably) to become Rajamouli's second biggest-grosser after "Baahuabli 2" (510.99 cr.). Though the BB2's record is looking a far cry, the latest outing is poised to go big as it might finish over 250 crores net. Worldwide, it has already grossed 600 crores.
Rajamouli has become a top name in the modern era of filmmaking. He provides larger-than-life cinema that directly turns into a massive box office outcome. His "RRR" falls in the same category that gives audiences experience worth their money. Such has been the magic of Rajamouli's filmmaking with powerful performances of the lead cast that despite high ticket prices, which are up to 2500 rs., the audiences are willing to pay to experience this cinematic masterpiece.
"RRR" is not only getting well-deserved appreciation in India but also overseas where the movie is equally being loved by the audiences and critics. The Tomatometer approved film critic and writer at Variety, Courtney Howard called "RRR" "an invigorating, indelible EXPERIENCE".
It was, however, not easy for Rajamouli and the team of "RRR" to bring the movie on the big screen as its release was postponed multiple times due to the covid-19 pandemic. However, the makers were committed to bringing the film to the big screen which is now visible as to why they waited for so long.
With "RRR", Jr. NTR and Ram Charan have also opened their account in the 100 crore club in Hindi. While Ram Charan has already worked in a Hindi movie called "Zanjeer", it was the debut Hindi outing for Jr. NTR. SS Rajamouli, meanwhile, will be working on his next Pan-India film with Telugu superstar Mahesh Babu. It will go on floors sometime next year and as said by the filmmaker himself, the upcoming movie will be bigger than "RRR" and "Baahubali" films.
