SS Rajamouli's 'RRR' Crosses Another Box Office Milestone In Japan
Tokyo, January 9 - SS Rajamouli's magnum opus RRR is having a very good run at the Japan box office. The period action drama was released on October 21 in Japan and since then, it is seeing a steady collection week after week.
Starring Jr. NTR and Ram Charan, "RRR" has already become the highest-grossing Indian film in Japan by crossing Rajinikanth's blockbuster "Muthu", and now, it has breached another major box office milestone there.
"RRR" has crossed ¥500 million in Japan, becoming the first-ever Indian film to achieve the feat. It is currently in its 12th week and has grossed approx. 505 million Yen or Rs. 31.45 crores so far with 3.34 lakh footfalls. The movie grossed around 8 million Yen on its 12th weekend.
Produced by DVV Entertainment, the film has grossed approx. 1150 crores worldwide, including approx. 905 crores gross at the domestic box office. Apart from Japan, the movie is also getting screened in the USA currently on-demand and the shows are getting sold out within minutes.
