SS Rajamouli's 'RRR' Hits 1 Billion Yen At The Japan Box Office
Tokyo, February 19 - SS Rajamouli's epic blockbuster RRR has crossed the historic box office milestone of 1 billion Yen at the Japan box office, becoming the first-ever Indian film to achieve the feat.
Starring Jr. NTR and Ram Charan, RRR has crossed the ¥1 billion mark on its 122nd day. The movie was released in October of last year and since then, it has continued its steady run at the box office. The movie had a big boost in collection over the last few weeks which helped it go past the box office milestone.
Rajinikanth's Muthu is the second highest-grossing Indian film in Japan with 400 million Yen. RRR crossed Muthu's record a long time back and hasn't looked back since then. So far, the period action drama has grossed approx. 62 crores in Japan with approx. 633K admits.
The total worldwide gross collection of RRR has now reached approx. 1170 crores. It is currently the 4th highest-grossing Indian movie ever and is likely to remain 4th unless the movie gets released in other countries.
