Mumbai, October 10 - Amid the dominance of outright Bollywood films, a South Indian title has also made a noise as far as the biggest first earners of 2025 in Hindi are concerned. Rishab Shetty's Kantara Chapter 1 has lived up to the expectations to score 100+ crores opening week in the dubbed Hindi version. The film's Hindi version has scored a good first-week collection of 107 crore net, making it the fifth biggest first-week grosser of 2025 in Hindi. The achievement is even more impressive considering it's a dubbed Kannada release competing with some of Bollywood's biggest franchises and star-studded blockbusters. Vicky Kaushal's mega blockbuster Chhaava is the biggest opening week grosser of 2025 in Hindi, with dominating numbers of 219 crore, setting a new benchmark for Hindi films this year. It's followed by Yash Raj Films' unexpected blockbuster Saiyaara, starring debutante Ahaan Pandey and Aneet Padda, with 173 crores, while Hrithik Roshan and Jr. NTR's War 2 is third in the list with 150 crores first week. Mumbai, July 22 - Ahaan Pandey and Aneet Padda’s romantic drama Saiyaara continues its dream run at the box office. After delivering a historic opening weekend, the film held firm on its first Monday, scoring the joint biggest first Monday of the year with Vicky Kaushal's Chhaava, domestically. ## Directed by Mohit Suri, Saiyaara netted approximately 24 crore (28 crore gross) in India on Monday, bringing its 4-day India total to 107.25 crore net (approx. 128 crore gross). The movie also had an excellent day at the overseas box office, bringing 6 crores on Monday for a total international collection of around 23 crores. With an additional ₹26 crore coming from the overseas markets, Saiyaara has now amassed an impressive ₹161 crore gross worldwide in just four days. ## Saiyaara beats lifetime worldwide collection of Kesari: Chapter 2 and Sky Force ## After four days, the Yash Raj Films production has grossed approximately 151 crores, which is enough to top the lifetime worldwide grosses of Akshay Kumar's Sky Force and Kesari 2, which earned 150 crores and 145 crores, respectively. ## That makes Saiyaara not just a breakout debut for its newcomers but also one of the fastest Bollywood films to outpace the global lifetime collections of star-driven titles this year. Mumbai, March 19 - Superstar Akshay Kumar's aerial action thriller Sky Force was one of the first big Bollywood releases of the year. Directed by Abhishek Anil Kapur and Sandeep Kewlani, the film was released on January 24 and did decently at the box office. ## Produced by Maddock Films and Jio Studios, Sky Force is hailed as one of the best Bollywood films of 2025 so far, so there is a demand for the movie on streaming platforms from OTT audiences. Amazon Prime Video has post-theatrical streaming rights to the movie and the streamer confirmed on Wednesday that it will start streaming on March 21. ## The movie will complete 8 weeks (56 days) of its theatrical run, a minimum window before the films are made available OTT. Mumbai, February 3 - Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar's war action thriller Sky Force has entered the 100 crores net club, becoming the first Bollywood and second Indian movie of 2025 to achieve the feat. The movie is directed by Sandeep Kewlani and Abhishek Anil Kapur. ## Sky Force, based on true events, unlocked the 100 crores club on the second Sunday. It took 10 days to reach the milestone which has not been a regular case for Akshay-starrer lately. This is the actor's third 100 crores net grosser post the Covid-19 pandemic, after Sooryavanshi and OMG 2. ## Produced by Maddock Films and Jio Studios, Sky Force's opening weekend collection was largely boosted by the huge discounted prices and since then, it has done decently with regular prices thanks to positive word of mouth and top critics' reviews. ## It is the 126th film ever to cross 100 crores net collection in Hindi, and the 16th for Akshay Kumar which is the second highest after superstar Salman Khan's 17 movies. Mumbai, January 25 - Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar's aerial action thriller Sky Force witnesses a huge jump of around 70% on its second day, after a decent first-day collection of over 12 crores net, thanks to the big discount on online ticket bookings. ## According to early estimates, Sky Force has minted 21-22 crores net collection on Saturday. This is a very good collection as it has been noticed that the discounted offer, which was available on the first day of the instant online bookings, was partially opened on the second day. ## The total collection of the film is around 33+ crores net after 2 days. The movie is expected to see a further jump on Sunday, which also happens to be Republic Day as opening weekend is looking to be around 60 crores net which is fantastic. ## It might not have been possible for Sky Force to score this much collection with regular ticket prices from the opening day. Mumbai, January 24 - Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar's war action drama Sky Force has taken a good double-digit opening which is a rarity for the actor these days. The opening, however, is largely fueled by the highly discounted ticket prices, an uncommon strategy adopted to bring the audience to cinemas in large numbers. ## The strategy of giving massive discounts on tickets has expectedly worked in the favor of the movie as early estimates suggest opening in the range of 11-11.50 crores net collection. It might go higher which needs to be seen by tomorrow morning. The good thing is that the prices will continue to be low throughout the weekend, so a big jump is expected on Saturday followed by Sunday which is Republic Day. ## To have a practice of giving big discounts is not beneficial in the long run, but this move is working as of now, as word of mouth for the film is highly positive and due to higher audience turnaround, it is expected to spread faster and hopefully, will benefit the movie when normal rates come into effect.## Sky Force will certainly have a good weekend with these low ticket rates and will set the tone for possibly a good outing during weekdays.
