Update On Original Plans For AEW Triple Threat Ladder Match
In the days following the ladder match on Dynamite, reports surfaced that the Hardy Boyz didn't even plan to actually compete in the match.
Two days after the ladder match, Brian Alvarez revealed that even before Jeff Hardy's DUI arrest, The Hardy Boys were to be attacked and kicked out of the Triple Threat title ladder match.
However, Fightful has learned that this is not accurate. Prior to the DUI arrest, the Hardy Boyz were still slated for the match on the June 15 AEW Dynamite, but Jeff Hardy's performance was going to be contingent on him being cleared and able to be in the ring.
If he wasn't cleared and given the go ahead, he would have been written out of the match, but Matt Hardy was to still compete, per AEW sources.
As of now, there is no update on plans for Matt Hardy moving forward. Jeff Hardy must receive treatment and maintain sobriety in order to return to AEW.
