Directed by Homi Adjania, Cocktail 2 has also surpassed the lifetime domestic and worldwide total of the original Cocktail during the second weekend. Among the Hindi films, Bhooth Bangla, Dhurandhar 2, and Border 2 had earlier achieved this feat. BY SACNILK

Mumbai, June 30 - Indian cinema is preparing for two massive upcoming spectacles as fresh updates about Ranveer Singh's Pralay and Jr. NTR's epic God of War (tentative title) have created strong buzz among fans. Both projects belong to completely different genres, yet they reflect the growing ambition of Indian filmmakers to build large-scale cinematic experiences designed for pan-India audiences. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) According to the Pinkvilla report, Ranveer Singh's 300 crore budgeted Pralay is officially moving forward with filming set to begin in September 2026. Directed by Jai Mehta and produced by Singh's Maa Kasam Films with Hansal Mehta, the film is being described as a post-apocalyptic zombie survival thriller set in a devastated version of Mumbai. Despite ongoing discussions surrounding delays, reports claim that Pralay remains unaffected and production plans are firmly on schedule. The major chunk of the filming will be set in Australia, with the film being mounted under the supervision of technicians who have previously worked on several international projects. The pre-production is already underway in full swing in Australia, with Ranveer consistently providing his input. The makers are reportedly investing heavily in advanced visual effects and dystopian world-building to create a unique cinematic universe. The movie revolves around a married couple fighting for survival in a dystopian Mumbai, with Kalyani Priyadarshan set to play the female lead. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) Meanwhile, Jr. NTR and director Trivikram Srinivas have officially reunited for the much-awaited project widely referred to as God of War. After months of speculation and delayed announcements, the mythological action epic is finally entering its official launch phase. Reports suggest that the story could be inspired by Lord Karthikeya, also known as Muruga, with the film aiming to blend mythology, divine warfare, and modern cinematic storytelling on a grand scale. Excitement surrounding the project increased earlier when Jr. NTR was seen carrying the book Muruga – The Lord of War, The God of Wisdom, which many fans connected to the film's theme. Following the global success of RRR, expectations are now extremely high for this collaboration, especially with Trivikram Srinivas known for combining emotional depth with commercial storytelling.

Welcome To The Jungle Tops 100 Crore Worldwide After A Decent Monday Hold; Sixth Consecutive Akshay Kumar Film To Do So

BY SACNILK

Mumbai, June 30 - Akshay Kumar's latest comedy entertainer, Welcome To The Jungle, has crossed the 100 crore mark at the worldwide box office within just four days of release, continuing its good theatrical run despite the expected Monday slowdown. The Ahmed Khan directorial managed to hold decently on its first weekday, collecting an estimated 8.5 crore nett on Monday and taking its global total to around 106 crore. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) After a solid opening weekend that brought in around 63.75 crore nett (76.50 crores gross) in India, the film benefited from strong family footfalls, franchise nostalgia, and positive audience reception in mass circuits. Sunday witnessed a notable jump in collections, helping the film comfortably enter the 90 crore worldwide zone before Monday. The drop on Monday is less than 50% from the Friday opening day, which is considered a good hold. The film's Monday drop remained within an acceptable range, considering the better-than-expected weekend and discounted pricing on Tuesday. The coming weekdays will now determine whether the comedy caper can sustain momentum ahead of fresh competition arriving later this week. What makes the feat even more significant for Akshay Kumar is that Welcome To The Jungle has now become his sixth consecutive film to cross the 100 crore mark worldwide. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) Six Consecutive 100 Crore Grossers For Akshay Kumar S. While some of Akshay's recent films faced mixed critical and commercial outcomes domestically, the actor has continued to maintain a strong global box office pull, especially in ensemble entertainers and franchise-driven projects. The last movie of his which failed to cross the 100 crores gross mark worldwide was Khel Khel Mein in 2024, and since then, the actor has been on a success streak, which is always a good sign for the Hindi film industry. Directed by Ahmed Khan, the multi-starrer features a massive ensemble cast including Akshay Kumar, Suniel Shetty, Paresh Rawal, Disha Patani, Raveena Tandon, Jacqueline Fernandez, and others and serves as the third instalment in the popular Welcome franchise. Audiences have particularly responded to the film's nostalgic callbacks, slapstick humour, and larger-than-life comic setup. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({})

Ajay Devgn-Led Chauhaan Lands In Controversy Over Title

BY SACNILK

Mumbai, June 30 - Ajay Devgn's upcoming film Chauhaan has landed in controversy shortly after the release of its announcement teaser, with several groups objecting to the film's title and dialogues. The action drama, directed by Neeraj Yadav and produced by Jio Studios and Colour Yellow Productions, was announced with a high-intensity teaser that quickly grabbed attention across social media platforms. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) The controversy began after the Kshatriya Parishad, a Rajput socio-cultural organisation, raised objections to the use of the "Chauhan" clan name in the film's title. The group accused the makers of exploiting Rajput identity and history for commercial and political storytelling. In a statement, members of the organisation said that the legacy of the Chauhan community should not be used in a manner that could hurt sentiments or create social divisions. Adding fuel to the debate was a dialogue from the teaser that says, Pathaanon se kehna… Chauhaan aa raha hai. The line instantly went viral online and sparked mixed reactions from viewers. While some fans viewed it as a typical mass-action punchline designed to build hype around Ajay Devgn's character, others criticised it for allegedly carrying communal undertones. A section of social media users also speculated whether the line was an indirect reference to Shah Rukh Khan’s blockbuster film Pathaan. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) We strongly condemn the attempt by Neeraj Yadav and Ajay Devgn's upcoming film Chauhaan to appropriate the Chauhan clan name for contemporary communal politics.Rajput history is not a political prop. The legacy of the Chauhans belongs to Rajput history , not to electoral… pic.twitter.com/nDRRKoikv4— Kshatriya Parishad (@kshatriya_org) June 29, 2026 The Kshatriya Parishad further argued that historical conflicts and Rajput history are often oversimplified in mainstream cinema to suit modern narratives. The organisation urged filmmakers to portray historical identities responsibly and avoid using caste or community names in a controversial context. However, supporters of the film believe the criticism may be premature, noting that only a teaser has been released and the film's full story is yet to be revealed. Despite the backlash, Chauhaan has succeeded in generating significant buzz online and has already become one of the most talked-about Bollywood announcements in recent days. The film marks Ajay Devgn's first collaboration with Aanand L Rai and is currently scheduled for a theatrical release on October 1, 2027.
