Box Office: RRR Breaks Day 1 Record In Nizam

Hyderabad, March 26 - Quite fittingly, the "RRR" duo of Alluri Sitarama Raju and Komaram Bheem fought against the British and Nizam of Hyderabad in the film and now, they have breached a major box office record in Nizam by a huge margin.

The SS Rajamouli-directed has started its record-shattering box office run and breached the Nizam fortress. The film grossed 23.35 crores share on day 1, which is more than double of the previous record-holder "Bheemla Nayak" (11.85 Cr.).

The Nizam was never far away from "RRR" reach after the state government gave a big relief to the makers by allowing ticket hikes. But doubling the previous record is something which will be difficult for any film in the near future.

The epic period action drama film stars Ram Charan and Jr. NTR. Ajay Devgn and Alia Bhatt play extended cameo appearances while Samuthirakani, Alison Doody, Ray Stevenson, Olivia Morris, and Shriya Saran feature in supporting roles.

Produced by DVV Entertainment, "RRR" is a fictional story about two Indian revolutionaries, Alluri Sitarama Raju (Charan) and Komaram Bheem (Rama Rao), who fought against the British Raj and Nizam of Hyderabad respectively.
