Box Office: Vikram First Saturday Early Estimates; Remarkable Hold

Chennai, June 4 - Tamil blockbuster "Vikram" has had an excellent opening day at the box office, which actually was the second biggest for a Tamil movie in 2022 with 37.50 crores gross.

The opening of this Lokesh Kanagaraj-directed was by far the biggest ever for legendary Kamal Haasan who plays the title role while Vijay Sethupathi and Fahadh Faasil play prominent roles along with a cameo of Suriya.

Produced by RKFI, "Vikram" showed a remarkable hold on its second day and scored an estimated 27 crores net for all languages. This is one of the biggest holds for a top-tier Tamil movie as most of the films tend to take a huge drop on the second day.

"Vikram" had the third biggest opening of 2022 in Tamil Nadu with 23.10 crores gross. On Saturday, the movie scored another estimated 19.50 crores in the state, pushing two days' Tamil Nadu total to over 42 crores. The domestic gross also reached about approx. 70 crores in two days while worldwide has crossed 90 crores mark.

With Sunday to go, "Vikram" is expected to maintain a stronghold to post an extraordinary opening weekend. The word of mouth is super positive.
