Laal Singh Chaddha Opening Day Early Estimates; Double-Digit Start

Mumbai, Aug 11, 2022: The first event film of this year from the Hindi film industry Laal Singh Chaddha has been released at the box office starring Aamir Khan as a central character. The film was scheduled to release earlier but has been postponed many times until it was released today.

Laal Singh Chaddha is an official remake of the Hollywood classic Forrest Gump. The trailer of Laal Singh Chaddha could not build any kind of urgency and even the songs could not raise the buzz and anticipation around the film as a result the film failed on the opening front.

The film took just a 10-12% start in the morning which is the worst Aamir Khan opener of this century ignoring a few of his cameo and art films. Even the centers where Aamir Khan has a huge pull did not witness any audience. The early estimate collections are set to be around 12cr net box office collections only. There was a minimum 15cr expectation from the film due to the Rakshabandhan holiday but that looks like a distant dream now.

The film has been made on a huge scale and it is the second highest budgeted film of Aamir Khan after Thugs of Hindostan from that point of view, the opening of Laal Singh Chaddha is nothing but a disaster. The reports of the film are not encouraging as well with mass audiences disliking it due to its lengthy and boring screenplay.

The film should see huge growth in the subsequent days to register a decent extended weekend collection. The industry continues to feel the heat as big films continue to fail on the opening front which was like bread and butter in pre-pandemic days.
