'RRR' Came Above 'The Batman' At The USA Box Office
Los Angeles, March 25 - Even though it might be just for one day, SS Rajamouli's "RRR" has topped the USA box office, overstepping global blockbuster "The Batman".
"RRR" has taken a thunderous opening at the worldwide box office, including the United States of America. The period action drama film scored nearly $3.3 million on Thursday from 1000 theaters through premiere shows and was the number 1 movie in the USA on the said day.
The new film, "The Lost City", was the second-biggest movie on Thursday with $2.5 million, followed by Robert Pattinson-fronted DC Superhero movie, "The Batman", which came at number 3, grossing $2.46 million from 4 times more theaters than "RRR".
The highest ticket prices have helped "RRR" to take the mammoth opening in the USA where premiere ticket prices were up to $43 per ticket. The premiere numbers are also the biggest for any Indian movie in the North American country.
Produced by DVV Entertainment, "RRR" has also crossed the $1 million mark on Friday through half-day on 780 locations. The average Friday per location collection is $1367, which is brilliant. The total USA cume is heading towards over $5 million through Friday including Thursday previews.
"RRR" stars Jr. NTR, and Ram Charan in the leading roles while Alia Bhatt and Ajay Devgn have played extended cameo roles. It also stars Samuthirakani, Alison Doody, Ray Stevenson, Olivia Morris, and Shriya Saran in supporting roles.
