The Batman Nears Half-Century Mark At The Indian Box Office
Mumbai, March 13 - Marvel Studios' "Spider-Man: No Way Home" might be nearing its blockbuster but the box office hasn't faded as another superhero movie is taking giant steps.
Warner Bros. DC film "The Batman" has completed the second weekend at the worldwide box office and brought in a super $463 million. At the domestic (North America) box office, the Robert Pattinson-fronted has become the second biggest grosser of the pandemic era with $238.5 million in 10 days.
Internationally, "The Batman" has grossed an estimated $225 million at the end of the second weekend. In India, the movie is having a good run, nearing Rs. 50 crores mark for all languages.
At the end of the second weekend, it has grossed Rs. 46 crores ($5.9 million). India is currently the 11th biggest international market for "The Batman", with the United Kingdom is leading the chart with $35 million.
"The Batman", however, is far behind than "Spider-Man: No Way Home", which had grossed Rs. 224 crores ($29.18M) at the end of the second weekend in India in December 2021.
The Batman film sees Batman (Pattinson), who has been fighting crime in Gotham City for two years, uncover corruption while pursuing the Riddler (Paul Dano), a serial killer who targets Gotham's elite.
