'The Kashmir Files' Goes From Strength To Strength At The USA Box Office
Los Angeles, March 14 - Vivek Agnihotri's 'The Kashmir Files' is becoming a low-budget monster.
A film, based on true events of Indian history, is witnessing a never-seen-before trend at the box office, not only in India but also overseas.
The movie has earned Rs. 27.10 crores in the first 3 days in India, and you might find it difficult to digest the fact that the Monday collection, despite being a working day, is estimated to earn more than Sunday's Rs. 15.10 crores.
At the USA box office, "The Kashmir Files" is showing a similar trend as India. In the opening weekend (Fri-Sun), the film grossed an amazing $475K despite playing in only 60 theaters. It averaged $7.9K per theater in the USA during the weekend, which is simply sensational.
Overseas, it has grossed Rs. 4.7 crores, including Rs. 3.60 crores in the USA, in the first three. The worldwide total cume stands at Rs. 36.5 crores through the first Sunday.
The film is based on the true events of the exodus of Kashmiri Hindus in the early 1990s due to the Kashmir Insurgency.
