Boston, 22 November - 12 stars have been revealed who will compete in the Continental Classic tournament. ## The Continental Classic tournament is all set to be held in November – December 2023 and conclude at the Worlds End pay-per-view event on December 30. The winner will be crowned the inaugural AEW Continental Champion, as well as win the ROH World Championship of sister promotion Ring of Honor (ROH) and the Strong Openweight Championship of partner promotion New Japan Pro-Wrestling (NJPW), subsequently becoming AEW Triple Crown Champion. ## During a streaming special on Wednesday, AEW President Tony Khan, Tony Schiavone, and ROH World & NJPW Strong Openweight Champion Eddie Kingston announced a straight list of 12 stars who would be competing in the inaugural Continental Classic tournament that kicks off tonight on Dynamite. ## The Continental Classic will be a round-robin tournament featuring 12 wrestlers divided into two blocks of six. Each wrestler will face each other in their block once, with the top two point-scorers from each block advancing to the semifinals. The semifinals will be single-elimination matches, with the winners advancing to the finals. Boston, 21 November - Wrestlenomics reported that AEW WrestleDream managed to sell 7,108 tickets, resulting in a live gate of $533,717. ## The event was held on October 1 at the Climate Pledge Arena in Seattle, Washington, following AEW Collision the night before, which sold 4,933 tickets for a gate of $235,652. WrestleDream event was the most successful non-WWE wrestling event in North American history, in terms of attendance and ticket sales.## A Total of Fourteen matches were contested at the event with Christian Cage defeated Darby Allin by 2–1 in a two out of three falls match to retain the AEW TNT Championship in the main event. Plush, Bryan Danielson defeated Zack Sabre Jr. and Swerve Strickland defeated "Hangman" Adam Page. The event was also notable for the AEW debut of Adam Copeland (formerly known as Edge in WWE). ## The event also had a strong viewership on Bleacher Report Live, with an average of 100,000 viewers and a peak of 120,000 viewers.
