Mumbai, July 4 - Pan India superstar Prabhas-fronted Kalki 2898 AD has become the actor's second highest-grossing film at the worldwide box office, after topping SS Rajamouli's directorial Baahubali on its 8th day of run. ## Directed by Nag Ashwin, the sci-fi epic grossed approximately 641 crores worldwide in the first 7 days, and with its 8th day's collection (2nd Thursday), the movie has topped Baahubali - The Beginning which grossed an estimated 650 crores worldwide in 2015. ## Kalki 2898 AD has been on a dream run since its debut on June 27. It became only the 6th Indian movie ever to score 500+ crores worldwide gross collection in the opening weekend and will end the extended first week total to around 675 crores. ## As has been the case with Prabhas' recent films, the Hindi version has once again delivered for the actor and added immense value to the overall collection. Mumbai, October 9 - Maverick director SS Rajamouli's epic blockbuster Baahubali 2 - The Conclusion set the benchmark for not just Telugu cinema but also in the Hindi and rest of the versions. It was the last film to sell over 5 crores tickets in Hindi. Baahubali 2 was only the second South Indian film, after Baahubali, to reach 100 crores net mark in Hindi. While no other film could come close to the footfalls benchmark set by BB2, nearly a dozen South Indian films have managed to breach 100 crores net mark in Hindi, with Allu Arjun's Pushpa 2 - The Rule went on to become, not the biggest dubbed grosser, but also the biggest Hindi net grosser of all-time with over 800 crores. Mumbai, May 2 - Maverick filmmaker SS Rajamouli is coming up with the animated series Baahubali: Crown of Blood, based on the hugely successful Baahubali film franchise. The series has been set to stream on Disney+Hotstar. ## Created by Rajamouli and Sharad Devarajan, produced by Rajamouli, Devarajan and Shobu Yarlagadda and directed and produced by Jeevan J. Kang and Navin John, Baahubali: Crown of Blood will start streaming on May 17 on Disney Plus Hotstar. ## Set before the events of the two films, the animated series will focus on Baahubali and Bhallaladeva who join hands to protect the kingdom of Mahishmati and the throne against its greatest threat, the mysterious warlord known only as Raktadeva.## Rajamouli said (via Variety), "The world of Baahubali is vast, and the film franchise was the perfect introduction to the same. Chennai, August 19 - Filmmaker Mani Ratnam is all set show the world he has created with magnum opus Ponniyin Selvan, which he believes became possible because of maverick filmmaker SS Rajamouli. Rajamouli's films have been ahead of their times and it was the "Baahuabli" series that opened the gate for other filmmakers to dream big, breaking the barrier of languages. ## During the second single launch of "Ponniyin Selvan 1" in Chennai on August 19, Mani Ratnam spoke about how Rajamouli's "Baahubali" inspired him to make films like "PS". Even though Mani Ratnam always wanted to make PS for the big screen, he said that Rajamouli showed the way with Baahubali that such films can be made and be successful in two-part. ## "I want to Thank SS Rajamouli Garu. In a way, he has opened up the doors for all of us that this kind of film (PS) can be made and he has shown us that it can be done in two parts like you can tell a story in 2 parts and be successful. PS1 is possible today because of Bahubali", the filmmaker said. ## PS1, produced by Ratnam and Allirajah Subaskaran under Madras Talkies and Lyca Productions, is the first of two cinematic parts based on Kalki Krishnamurthy's 1955 novel Ponniyin Selvan. Hyderabad, March 4 - Ever since SS Rajamouli's "Baahubali", starring Prabhas, has been released, the standard of Indian regional cinema has reached the next level. It was the film that broke the barrier of languages, and its sequel, "Baahubali: The Conclusion", literally made everyone go crazy. ## It has already been nearly 5 years since the release of "Baahubali 2", and there have been talks about its 3rd part for a long time now. In one of the interviews recently, SS Rajamouli had confirmed that "Baahubali 3" will happen, but when it will happen, there is no clarity on yet. ## After Rajamouli, Prabhas, who shot to worldwide fame after this historical action drama film, also hinted about part 3. Hyderabad, January 29 - Young Rebel Star Prabhas has multiple surprises in store for his fans. After it was reportedly revealed that his upcoming magnum opus "Adipurush" is being planned as the widest release ever for an Indian film, his action-thriller "Salaar" is also being made on a massive scale with surprise elements. ## "Salaar", which marks Prabhas' maiden collaboration with KGF director Prashanth Neel is nearing its completion after being in production for a year now. The dark-themed actioner is said to be made on a bigger scale than KGF. That's not all, according to the latest reports, "Salaar" will also be released in two parts. ## Prashanth Neel seems to have decoded the success formula with the two-part release. The second part of Neel-directed "KGF", starring Yash, is getting some serious curiosity among the Pan India audiences, and it looks like he wants to follow that same formula with Prabhas-fronted. ## Since "Salaar" is in development for a long time now, there is a possibility that both the parts are being shot simultaneously. Hyderabad, Dec 24 (IANS) What appears to be a never-ending episode between the Telugu Film Industry and the Andhra Pradesh government is the ticket pricing and movie business-related issues. ## In the wake of slashing movie tickets and the seizure of multiple theatres, Telugu star Nani had reacted that these activities are not going to help the industry or anyone who depends on the movie business. ## Quoting Nani's speech reference, 'Baahubali' producer Shobu Yarlagadda listed out a few suggestions to deal with this issue. ## In a series of tweets, Shobu said: "Maximum Retail Price (MRP) (unless it is an essential commodity) is decided by the producers/manufacturers of packaged goods not the government. Just saying! ## "If AP Government, wants to maximize tax collection from movies, it should 1. Mandate 100 per cent computerisation of ticket sales in all theatres, 2. Automatic and real-time updating of ticket sales. 3. Mumbai, July 2, 2021: SS Rajamouli's Baahubali film series was so successful that it inspired streaming giant Netflix to make a prequel to Baahubali - The Beginning (2015). Titled Baahubali: Before the Beginning, the Telugu languages web series is based on Anand Neelakantan's 2017 and 2020 novels The Rise of Sivagami, Chaturanga, and Queen of Mahishmathi. ## Earlier, the series was being directed by Deva Katta and Praveen Sattaru, however, Netflix reportadly scrapped the project after 80 percent of the shoot got completed as they weren't impressed with the content. The series, which follows the journey of Sivagami's rise to power in the Mahishmati kingdom, has now been re-worked with a new team. ## As per the latest development, Netflix has started pre-production work on Baahubali Before The Beginning. Jannat fame Kunal Deshmukh and The Girl On the Train fame Ribhu Dasgupta are said to be on board to direct the series. ## Punjabi actress Wamiqa Gabbi, who has also featured in the Hindi, Telugu, and Malayalam language films, will be playing the lead role of Sivagami in this periodic, replacing Mruanl Thakur. The entire script work of Baahubali Before The Beginning is completed and the shooting commences from September. The budget of the series is said to have Rs. 200 crores. ## Baahubali: Before the Beginning is said to have seen the potential of being India's answer to Game of Thrones.
