Mumbai, February 1 - Director Rohit Shetty has had mixed results post the COVID-19 pandemic. While his Sooryavanshi was a box-office success, Cirkus turned into a massive disaster and Singham Again, which was released on Diwali last year, didn't live up to the high expectations despite grossing over 350 crores worldwide. ## The maverick filmmaker has now reportedly decided to take a break from his blockbuster cop universe and is likely to direct a standalone action thriller film next with Bollywood star John Abraham other than comedy entertainer Golmaal 5 for which the script has reportedly been locked.## According to the report by Mid-Day, Shetty began developing the script for a standalone action thriller after the release of Singham Again and a few preliminary meetings with John have already taken place. The report states that if things go as planned, the movie might go on floors by April this year and a final call will be taken by March. ## If the project materializes, it would be Shetty and John's first collaboration. The duo has reportedly discussed the dates as Shetty plans to shoot for the movie in Mumbai in a straight schedule over 45 days this summer, after which, the director will shoot for the TV reality show Khatron Ke Khiladi 15. ## John Abraham, meanwhile, will next be seen in a thriller film, The Diplomat which said is based on true events. Mumbai, October 3 - Bollywood star Shahid Kapoor and Kriti Sanon's yet-untitled romantic-comedy film that was scheduled to release on December 8, 2023, has been postponed to February 2024. ## Billed as An Impossible Love Story, the movie is written and directed by Amit Joshi and Aradhana Sah while Dinesh Vijan's Maddock Films has produced it. December 2023 has been packed with many blockbuster releases, keeping a very short gap between the two movies.## The robotic romantic-comedy movie will now be released on Valentine's Day 2024 weekend, on February 9, in the best interest of the movie. The movie's theme is in sync with Valentine's Day which will appeal to the youth. Apart from being a unique love story, the movie also rides on strong music which said to be its major USP.## Meanwhile, as officially announced earlier, Katrina Kaif and Vijay Sethupathi's "Marry Christmas", which was supposed to be released on December 15, has been preponed by a week and will now be hitting big screens on December 8. Siddharth Malhotra's "Yodha" has also been advanced to December 8, 2023.## There are currently 5 much-awaited movies scheduled to release in December 2023. WWE superstars Seth Rollins and Becky Lynch recently appeared on ESPN's First Take to discuss their favorite sports figures who would make great heels in the WWE. ## Rollins kicked things off by naming Bill Belichick, the legendary head coach of the New England Patriots. "Every good heel contingent needs a great manager," Rollins said. "And Bill Belichick is one of the greatest of all time. He's got the pedigree, he's got the dynasty, he's got the look, but he's also got a scowl. He's got a mean mug, and he's not afraid to take a short cut when he needs to." ## Lynch then suggested Katie Taylor, the Irish boxer who is widely considered to be one of the greatest female fighters of all time. "Katie Taylor is a killer," Lynch said. "She's damn near unbeatable, but she's also a silent killer. Very dangerous, but also possibly one of the nicest human beings you'll ever meet. You would think that is a good thing. Maybe she is too nice. What is she hiding? Maybe she's hiding something, maybe she's up to something. Maybe that's how she lures you in, and then, right when she's got you, cuts the legs right from under you." ## Rollins' next pick was LeBron James, the four-time NBA MVP and four-time NBA champion. "LeBron James is too good," Rollins said. "He comes in, drafted number one overall. Want to go to college? No, he ain't gotta go to college. Just come right out of high school, expectations through the roof. Absolutely blows them out of the water. Championships, MVP, all-time leading scorer. You got an accolade, LeBron's got it. Constantly compared to some of the greatest of all time, but everybody's got an opinion about LeBron. Either he's the greatest of all time, or he's never gonna be Kobe. He's never gonna be Mike. You know what, he shrugs it off. He smokes a cigar. He hangs out on a yacht. He does whatever LeBron wants to do. It's his world, we're all just living in it. Very, very easy to dislike. He's too good. He can't be beat." The second-to-last pick was Sean O'Malley, the UFC fighter who is known for his colorful hair and his face tattoos. "Sean O'Malley is colorful, he's cocky, he's a loudmouth, got the most punchable face in all of sports," Lynch said. "Look at him. Terrible tattoos. How could you not hate this guy? Look at his hair. Full clown hair. He's got face tats. Awful face tats. You just want to punch him right in the face. That's a heel." ## Finally, things got a little personal for Rollins with his final pick, as he named Aaron Rodgers as the top heel in the sports world. Rollins, a known Chicago Bears fan, got heated as memories of heartbreak caused by Rodgers' Green Bay Packers beating his team clearly came up. "Speaking of punchable faces, we're going all the way to number one, a little personal for me, this is Aaron Rodgers," Rollins said. "You wanna talk about punchable faces, this guy has got the most punchable face in all the NFL, and he knows it, too. He knows it. He's cocky. He's got swag. He goes out there, tells the Bears he owns you. 'I own you'? I think there was some profanity involved there. We won't go there with that. But this is Aaron Rodgers we're talking about. He goes on the McAfee show, he says whatever he wants. He's got all of his opinions. I wish I was a defensive end. I wish I was coming around the edge. I wish I was getting his blind side. Next week on Monday Night Raw, Becky Lynch will settle the score when she takes on Asuka in the Money In The Bank Qualifying match. ## For the second time in weeks, Becky Lynch quested for the 24/7 Championship against Dana Brooke. However, The match didn’t happen. Both women made their regular entrances but Lynch attacked Brooke before the bell could ring. That led to “Becky” chants. Lynch drove Brooke into the barricade before stomping her head into the announce table. ## Lynch said this never about Brooke’s little 24/7 championship and told her, “you can keep that.” ## Lynch was pissed about how she’s been treated. Mumbai, May 11 - The Indian box office blockbuster, "The Kashmir Files" has been banned in Singapore by the country's InfoComm Media Development Authority. ## Directed by National-Award-winning filmmaker, Vivek Rajan Agnihotri, "The Kashmir Files" is about the exodus of the Kashmir Pandits during the Kashmir Insurgency in 1990, which led to the killings of Kashmir Hindus. The film centers around a university student who learns about the religiously charged political turmoil that led to the death of his parents in Kashmir. ## While banning the movie, the InfoComm Media Development Authority of Singapore stated that it could disturb religious harmony, The censor board, after consultation with the Ministry of Culture, Community, and Youth (MCCY) and the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), found that the film to have exceeded the Film Classification Guidelines for its provocative and one-sided portrayal of Muslims and the depictions of Hindus being persecuted in the on-going conflict in Kashmir.## "These representations have the potential to cause enmity between different communities and disrupt social cohesion and religious harmony in Singapore's multi-racial and multi-religious society", the Classification Information from Singapore censor board reads.## "The Kashmir Files", produced by Tej Narayan Agarwal, Abhishek Agarwal, Pallavi Joshi, and Vivek Agnihotri, was made on the budget of 20 crores and it went on to gross 335+ crores worldwide, becoming one of the biggest box office blockbusters of Hindi film industry.## This is not the first time when Singapore has banned movies on religious grounds. The socially conservative country had previously banned last year's French movie "Benedetta" which it found "portrayal of Jesus Christ and members of the church in a manner that is insensitive and offensive to the Christian and Catholic faith". ## The country also does not recognize same-sex relationships and considers same-sex sexual activity to be illegal. In this regard, it banned films like "Boy", "Female Games", and "Bakushi", among many others. The strictness of the Singapore censor board also didn't spare streaming platform Netflix, which said in 2020 that it had taken down only nine pieces of content worldwide in its history and 5 of them were at the request of the Singapore authorities.## Stay tuned...

Los Angeles, May 9 - Benedict Cumberbatch takes a dig at Will Smith's infamous slap to comedian Chris Rock in the recently concluded Oscars, in 'Saturday Night Live' monologue. Benedict was nominated for the Best Actor at the Academy Awards for his performance in "The Power of the Dog".## Cumberbatch said during his monologue, "I really am thrilled to be back hosting Saturday Night Live. It's been a really fun, great week. I have to be honest, though, because most of the sketch writers pitched me sketches every day, and most were about 'Doctor Strange' - which is great, I love the guy, I love playing the character, but I have been in other films".## He joked that Lorne Michaels, the executive producer of Saturday Night Live, asked him what other films he'd appeared in. The actor added, "I said, 'Well, like 'The Power of the Dog.' And he said, 'Nobody saw it.' I said, 'Come on, man, I was nominated for an Oscar for that.' I mean, I didn't win. The DC superhero movie, starring Robert Pattinson in the title role, has soared past $500 million worldwide, becoming the second 2022 title to reach the figure after China's "Water Gate Bridge" ($632M). ## The Matt Reeves-directed started the international rollout in Korea on March 1 ahead of the domestic (North America) debut on March 4. Through Thursday (March 17), the Warner Bros. movie has grossed $258.3 million at the domestic box office and $247.5 million internationally for $505.8 million worldwide. ## "The Batman" has become the highest-grossing Warner Bros. movie since the start of the covid-19 pandemic, surpassing "Godzilla vs. Kong's" $468.2 million. It is also the 4th biggest Hollywood movie and 9th overall during the pandemic, currently at number 7, ahead of "Venom: Let There Be Carnage" ($502M). ## While the movie is certain to enter the top 5 pandemic-era films, it will be interesting to see if could go past the $1 billion mark at the global box office. Mumbai, Dec 31 (IANS) Gender biases are often seen not only in rural but in urban areas also and the short film, 'Love Raddi', is about the same, featuring Harshita Gaur and actor-director Adeeb Rais. ## 'Sadda Haq' actress Harshita will be seen playing a dentist who is forced to face emotional abuse since childhood. ## Harshita says: "My character, Sara Malik, is a young dentist, who although independent and intelligent, is subject to emotional abuse since childhood. The film highlights how even in well-to-do urban households, some parents continue to treat their daughters and sons differently." ## According to Harshita, the on-screen character is confident from the outside, but feels restricted and unable to speak up in actuality. ## The actress, who feels a lot of young Indian girls will connect with her character, says: "What really attracted me about this particular short film when I was reading it was a very basic line, which said that sometimes when you speak up for yourself, you're not just trying to fix the problem, but probably you are just trying to fix yourself. Speaking up is an act of courage and self-love." ## The other lead actor, Adeeb, says his character, Kabir Kohli, appears like the boy-next-door but slowly the audience will realise that there's a lot of unhealed pain and anguish within him. ## He says: "Kabir Kohli has grown up seeing his mother being psychically abused by his father and continues to be haunted by the trauma. He's highly relatable on surface level, but deeply complex from within, which makes the character really exciting." ## Adeeb further explains the reason for such gender biases in the society. ## "The problem lies in the Indian parenting system where parents are given a larger than life Demi God's stature. This pressure is unfair to both the children and the parents. Jordan is preparing to make his directorial debut with 'Creed III', the latest chapter in Adonis Creed's saga, which is set to hit theatres on Thanksgiving 2022. ## When news broke that Jordan would take the helm of the franchise, in addition to starring as the boxing champ, the first-time feature filmmaker released a statement explaining why he wanted to take on the challenge. ## "Directing has always been an aspiration, but the timing had to be right," Jordan stated. ## "'Creed III' is that moment, a time in my life where I've grown more sure of who I am, holding agency in my own story, maturing personally, growing professionally and learning from the Greats like Ryan Coogler, most recently Denzel Washington, and other top tier directors I respect. All of which sets the table for this moment." ## Jordan worked with Washington on the true-life romantic drama 'A Journal for Jordan', which is now in theatres, where he picked up a few tips from the two-time Oscar winner and four-time director, reports variety.com. ## Washington recounted his conversations about directing with Jordan, saying that his first piece of honest advice was to "prepare, prepare, prepare". ## "It's much harder than you think because he's acting and directing,a Washington told Variety. ## "But (Michael's) motivated and he's very, very bright, so I'm sure he will do well." ## "He's full of quotes and advice and a lot of gems," Jordan added about learning from the storied entertainer. ## In particular, Jordan keyed into the filmmaker's preparation process, describing Washington's rehearsals as "spot-on and intense". ## "I think we did three weeks before we started filming, which I think is incredible," Jordan shared. "I've always done rehearsals before, but I think on ('Creed'), I'm going to make sure I get enough rehearsals to really massage the scenes that I feel like are the biggest days for my cast, once we actually start production." ## The cast for 'Creed III' is slowly coming together, as Jordan is expected to be reunited with Adonis Creed's on-screen love, Bianca (Tessa Thompson) and mother (Phylicia Rashad), with 'Lovecraft Country' and 'The Harder They Fall' star Jonathan Majors joining the crew as the story's mysterious antagonist. ## "Jonathan's just an incredible actor, an incredible person," Jordan said, explaining why he felt Majors would make the perfect sparring partner. ## "Me and him, we just connected the first time we spoke. And then when I pitched him the film, he hit me right back and it was all go from there, you know? So, he was bought in." ## Jordan added: "He has so many different talents, and things that he brings to the table. He was just perfect for the role, so it was a match made in heaven. I'm extremely lucky. We're very blessed to have him and I can't wait for everybody to see what we do." ## Majors recently opened up to Variety about squaring off against Jordan and playing the antagonist, versus the leading man roles he's landed lately. ## Majors also shared how his training regimen has affected him personally. "This is something my coach said: 'People live the way they fight'.
