The First Part Of Ayan Mukerji's Brahmastra Trilogy Confirmed To Release In September 2022

Mumbai, December 15 - The long for the director Ayan Mukerji is coming to an end as the first look motion poster of his dream project, "Brahmastra" will be released on December 15 during an event in Delhi. The highly-awaited mythological superhero film features Amitabh Bachchan, Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Mouni Roy, and Nagarjuna Akkineni in pivotal roles.## Meanwhile, "Brahmastra" has been planned as a trilogy and the first part of the film has been confirmed to release on September 9, 2022, in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada languages in 3D. The release date of "Brahmastra" first part coincides with a partial holiday on account of Ganesh Visarjan, especially in Maharashtra.## Produced by Dharma Productions in association with Fox Star Studios, "Brahmastra" recently concluded the shooting after being in production for more than 3 years. It is one of the costliest films in India and is being made on a budget of around 300 crores. Mumbai, Dec 14, 2021: Today completes 20 years of one of the historic hits of this generation "Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham" which was released exactly 20 years ago on 14 December 2001. The ensemble multi-starrer family drama is considered one of the biggest multi-starrer ever made on the Indian-theatrical screens. ## The film featured 3 major stars and although Amitabh Bachchan was past his box office domination days, his popularity remained untouched and he was among the most popular stars of that time. The film also had the current sensation, Hrithik Roshan, the first time sharing the screen with Shah Rukh Khan who was a major established star from the mid-90s. ## Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham had a huge pre-release hype due to its casting and music and as a result, the film took an earth-shattering opening. Sooryavanshi Is Not Finished Yet

Mumbai, December 13 - Rohit Shetty's "Sooryavanshi" is turning out to be a true box office monster. There have been many films in the past that died down after the first week itself, and then, there is "Sooryavasnhi", which is into its 6th week and still going strong despite limited shows. ## The covid-19 pandemic has posed many challenges in front of the Indian film industry, especially Bollywood. There haven't been many theatrical releases in the last 18 months or so and those released didn't perform up to their potential. Honestly, there haven't been any audience-appealing films that could have forced people to visit theaters. ## However, things changed after the second covid-19 wave as Bollywood decided to step ahead. While many films are still not performing to their potential (not bad either), Sooryavanshi has been exceptional on every front. This Akshay Kumar-starrer was Bollywood's best foot forward to bring the industry back to its strong feet, and not surprisingly, it has performed like that at the box office. ## Released over Diwali weekend, "Sooryavanshi" has had a free run at the box office for at least two weeks and it took full advantage of that by earning over Rs. 165 crores. It is the first Rs. 100 crore Bollywood grosser at the domestic box office during the pandemic. It was expected TBH since it had a star element attached to it, plus, it was mass appealing, which helped it to perform significantly well on single screens. ## After finishing two weeks' run, there was a big challenge for "Sooryavanshi" to carry the momentum because of the new release in form of "Bunty Aur Babli 2" (Nov. 19), and then "SMJ2" (Nov. 25), and "Antim: The Final Truth" (Nov. 26). "Sooryavanshi" passed that challenge with flying colors and netted Rs. 18.68 crores in the 3rd week, followed by Rs. 6.43 crores in the 4th week. And this all happened with Maharasthra cinemas operating with 50% occupancy. ## The 4th week was probably the toughest for "Sooryavanshi" as it had to compete with two mass-oriented films at the box office. It not only rose through that challenge but also maintained that momentum in the 5th week as well as 6th weekend despite new releases in the form of "Tadap" and "Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui". ## "Sooryavanshi" will most probably be finished around Rs. 197 crores India net from the current total of Rs. 195.04 crores after 38 days. The box office run of "Sooryavanshi" might be coming to its end but it has shown the way to the rest of the films. It clearly refused to die down when challenges were thrown to it. Box Office: Ayushmann Khurrana's Content Driven 'Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui' Hits A Fair Weekend

Mumbai, December 13 - Ayushmann Khurrana and Vaani Kapoor-starrer "Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui" has had a fairly healthy opening weekend at the box office. ## "Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui" has had a decent start on Friday with the opening day collection of Rs. 3.75 crores. However, as it often happens with Ayushmann's film, the movie grew over the weekend, thanks to the strong word of mouth from critics and audiences. ## It jumped by 29.87% (biggest 2nd-day jump during covid-19 for a Hindi movie) for Rs. 4.87 crores on Saturday and then, another 21.36% jump on Sunday for Rs. 5.91 crores to finish the opening weekend Rs. 14.53 crores India net. The movie is heading towards Rs. 23-24 crores in the first week.## Released over 2500 screens in India, "Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui" dominates metro multiplexes, Delhi, NCR, and Chandigarh while it also witnesses growth in Mumbai, Pune, and Bengaluru. Overseas, the Abhishek Kapoor-directed has so far grossed approx Rs. 2.85 crores. Sanya Malhotra And Fatima Sana Shaikh Join Vicky Kaushal For 'Sam Bahadur'

Mumbai, December 13 - Recently wed, Vicky Kaushal is all set to lead the biopic of Sam Manekshaw, to be directed by Meghna Gulzar. The title of the biopic, "Sam Bahadur" was announced earlier this year in April and now, the makers have finalized Fatima Sana Shaikh and Sanya Malhotra as the two leading ladies. ## On December 13, which also happens to be Meghna Gulzar's birthday, producer Ronnie Screwwala of RSVP Movies welcome Sanya and Fatima on board. Sanya has been cast to play Sam Manekshaw's (Vicky) wife, Silloo Manekshaw while Fatima will essay the role of former Indian Prime Minister, Smt. Indira Gandhi.## Says Sanya Malhotra, "Behind every great man is a woman and Silloo Manekshaw was that support and strength to Sam Bahadur. I'm honored to essay this role and bring to light her integral part and influence in this war hero's life. Mumbai, Dec 12, 2021: If a film of any director turns out to be a good film and it becomes a huge hit, then obviously the expectations of the audience increase from that director's next film. Not only the director but also the next movies of the main stars associated with that film expect the audience to be better than the previous film. ## I have written these lines because the film that we will talk about today had similar expectations from the audience to the distributors. Today we will talk About the film "Shaan", produced by P. Sippy and directed by his son Ramesh Sippy, released on 12 December 1980. ## Everyone knows that "Sholay" was directed by Ramesh Sippy. Perhaps no cinema lover would be unaware of the box office records of "Sholay". This film proved to be a milestone in the Hindi film industry. The film set such records that an era is counted in the Hindi film industry as a pre-Sholay and a post-Sholay era. ## "Sholay" was also a big-budget film and was made in around 3 crores. Yes, G. P. Sippy and Ramesh Sippy knew very well that now after "Sholay", what are the people's expectations from them, so there was a plan to make "Shaan" on a very big level in every department. ### After the record-breaking box office success of "Sholay", this film was also expected to garner the same success as "Sholay". The makers of the film did a lot of publicity before its release. Big posters of the film were put up in many cities with the words "The Greatest Show on Earth". A similar poster was put up at Minerva Cinema in Mumbai. “Shaan” was replacing Sippy’s previous film “Sholay” after 5 years in Minerva cinema. ## This was happening in cinemas in many other cities. The film's villain's tremendous look, tremendous star cast, gorgeous action sequences, melodious music, item song, and tremendous publicity created such a hype that the booking of the film went up to 2 crores 80 lakhs. This was the biggest advance till that time. The film was released and the film initially made bumper collections. The first week's collections of this film in Mumbai were almost 100%. ## But due to poor mouth publicity of the film, the collections slowly came down. The second-week collections were 89% in Mumbai and 78% in the third week. This film was made on Sholay's double budget of about 6 crores. Due to the bumper success of Sippy's previous film Sholay, the All India Rights of this film was bought by the distributors for about 10.75 crores. Ultimately the distributors suffered a loss of about 3 crores. ## The film was re-released in digital print in April 2005 by Sippy to mark its 25th anniversary. Overall, the film earned a net of around 4.25 crores in India. The gross of the film was eight and a half crores and it was the fifth highest-grossing movie of that year. Rumour: Hindi Remake Of NBK's 'Akhanda' To Be Led By Either Akshay Kumar Or Ajay Devgn!

Mumbai, December 11 - Bollywood has always been quick to grab remake rights of the audience-appealing, South Indian films, and it seems that Nandamuri Balakrishna's latest box office blockbuster, "Akhanda" is the latest in the list that has caught the attention of Bollywood filmmakers.## The third collaboration of NBK and director Boyapti Srinu opened a roaring response at the box office, receiving positive reviews from critics. The movie got NBk's career back on track as the actioner is heading towards Rs. 100 crores worldwide gross. ## Since "Akhanda" caught the attention of every type of audience, several Bollywood producers are reportedly showing interest in grabbing the Hindi remake rights. The rumours are rife that producer Sajid Nadiadwala is looking to remake the film in Hindi and he has reportedly considered either Akshay Kumar or Ajay Devgn to replace NBK.## Though the conversation about the Hindi remake with Akshay and Ajay is still in its initial stage, and one is likely to receive clarity on the same in the coming days. Interestingly, Akshay Kumar recently completed the shoot of "Mission Cinderella", which is the remake of the Tamil movie "Ratsasan". Ajay Devgn also has a "Kaithi" remake in the pipeline. Mumbai, Dec 11, 2021: Today is the birth anniversary of one of the greatest legends the Hindi film industry had ever produced - Dilip Kumar. ## Dilip Kumar started his tinsel town journey in 1944 with Jwar Bhata but his first major success came in 1947 when Jugnu opposite Noor Jehan did excellent business and emerged as the biggest grosser of the year. The success of Jugnu made Dilip Kumar a star. ## Due to the sudden death of the then Box office God - K.L. Sehgal, Dilip Kumar become the Top star in just two years with 2 Back to Back HGOTY - Jugnu (1947) & Shaheed (1948), and from there on this phenomenal star never turned back. It was one horse race till 1961 and this period was filled by Historic Grossers like Andaz (1949), Aan (1952), Naya Daur (1957), and the Biggest of them all Mughal-e-Azam (1960) and Ganga Jamuna (1961). ## Dilip Kumar with Raj Kapoor and Dev Anand formed the 1st Golden troika of Bollywood (The khans came many letters) and it is the former who gave competition to Dilip Kumar. Raj Kapoor literally eclipsed Dilip Kumar in the year 1949 with two back-to-back Bombastic Blockbusters - Andaz and Barsaat. ## Awara in 1951 emerged as the Biggest industry grosser and the competition just heated up on the professional front. Karma (1986) was centered around the thespian and again he gave the highest-grossing film of the year. ## As an Actor and with regards to acting skills Dilip Kumar is the greatest among them all.
