Chennai, October 26 - Tamil star Karthi is having the best year of his career with back-to-back blockbusters at a time when most of the top actors are struggling at the box office. ## The talented actor's "Viruman" was a big hit, followed by mega-blockbuster "Ponniyin Selvan - Part 1" and now, he has one more blockbuster in his hands in the form of "Sardar" which has grossed approx. 45 crores worldwide in just 5 days and emerged as a Diwali 2022 winner. ## Meanwhile, buoyed by the mega success of "Sardar", the makers have confirmed the sequel to this spy thriller with an official promo. During the press meet, the makers dropped a brief promo to announce that the filming for "Sardar 2" will commence soon. ## "Sardar 2" is likely to release in 2023. Interestingly, Karthi is lining up a couple more sequels in the same year as well. S. Mithran and produced by S Lakshman Kumar, under the banner of Prince Pictures. This film is a depiction of the contrast between father and son's beliefs. The son, a police officer, believes that any deed of his should be broadcasted whereas the father, an intelligence officer, spent thirty-two years in prison for the greater good. ## The film stars Karthi in a dual role with Raashii Khanna, Rajisha Vijayan, Chunky Panday, Laila, Rithvik, and Munishkanth in prominent roles. Chennai, October 21 - Two of the anticipated Tamil films, Karthi's Sardar, and Sivakrathikeyan-fronted Prince has been released in theaters today (October 21). Both the actors have been in some fine form after delivering back-to-back hits, so the expectations are high for their next films. ## Directed by P. S. Mithran, "Sardar" is a spy thriller film, and going by the reactions from the audience, the movie has been able to leave a mark. Chennai, September 25 - Director Lokesh Kangaraj's action thriller film Kaithi starring Karthi was a smash hit in Tamil and grossed over 100 crores at the worldwide box office. The movie is now getting ready for its sequel and this time, it will be bigger in scale and budget. ## Director Lokesh confirmed that he will start working on the Kaithi sequel after Thalapathy Vijay's upcoming film and in one of the recent interviews during Viruman promotions, Karthi confirmed that the sequel will go on floors by the second half of 2023. ## And now the actor, during Ponniyin Selvan 1 promotions, revealed that the scale and budget of the film will be 10 times bigger than the first part. While the official budget of the first part, which was released in 2019, wasn't revealed, it is believed to be approx. 25 crores, so the sequel could cost over 200 crores in the making. ## The sequel of Kaithi will focus on Dilli's (Karthi) backstory. "Dilli is a Kabbadi player and in jail, he won many cups by playing Kabaddi. In Kaithi, there is a bag with Dilli that contains a lot of cups he won from playing Kabaddi. I didn't explore this in the 1st part but in Kaithi 2 I will explore this background story", Lokesh had said previously. ## Kaithi 2 would take forward director's Lokesh Cinematic Universe (LCU), which began with its predecessor and the second film in it was Kamal Haasan's mega-blockbuster, Vikram, which was released earlier this year. Chennai, June 8 - Director Lokesh Kanagaraj has become the talk of the town after delivering another blockbuster in the form of Kamal Haasan-fronted "Vikram". The director is creating his own cinematic universe called 'Lokesh Cinematic Universe', and "Vikram" is the second film in it.## The first film in LCU was Karthi's "Kathi" (2019), which became a huge hit and made Kanagaraj an overnight sensation. "Vikram" continues from "Kaithi" and follows a black-ops squad led by Amar tracking down masked vigilantes, while he learns of a drug syndicate group called Vetti Vagaiyara, led by Sandhanam, who wants the missing drugs to be delivered to his cold-blooded boss Rolex. ## The next film in the series will be "Kaithi 2" and the director has himself confirmed the movie in a recent Twitter session with fans. During an #AskDirLokesh Twitter session, one user asked how did Arjun Das' character (named Anbudoss "Anbu") alive after he was presumed dead in "Kaithi". ## Responding to the user, Lokesh said that he wasn't dead in the movie as only his jew was broken. Most of the characters in the film are introduced through him. Queen Nandini, the wife of Commander of the Chola Army, Periya Pazhuvettaraiyar, moves on a mission to kill Aditya Karikalan and help his husband to ascend the throne. While Arulmozhivarman discovers several secrets about the conspiracy planned by the minsters and Nandini, Vandiyadevan was assigned to bring prince Arulmozhivarman from Sri Lanka, to save the throne. Chennai, Jan 16 (IANS) Muthiah, who has directed actor Karthi's upcoming film 'Viruman', says that the actor is actually a boon to directors.## Says Muthiah, "You can present actor Karthi in any way you want. He can be shown as a calm, docile person or if you choose, you can present him as an aggressive, rough person. He is a boon to directors. Karthi plays the title role in my film. The character he plays believes that those living today must live like how our ancestors lived. He believes in families living unitedly and being there for them when a problem erupts".## Giving out details of his upcoming family entertainer, the director said, "'Viruman' is based on an incident that happened in a home opposite my place. Everybody commits mistakes in life. However, when one commits mistakes, somebody in the family must question it. My film 'Viruman' will speak about this".## The film, produced by actor Suriya's 2D Entertainment, features Aditi Shankar, the daughter of ace director Shankar, as the female lead.## Shooting for the film took place in and around Theni and Madurai and was completed in 60 days.## Stay tuned...
