Hrithik Roshan & Deepika Padukone Starrer 'Fighter' With Director Siddharth Anand Sets Republic Day 2023 Release

Mumbai, August 13, 2021: Earlier this year, the director Siddharth Anand announced his collaboration with actors Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone. The film, titled "Fighter", is to be India's first-ever aerial action-thriller franchise, for which, Anand joined hands with Viacom18 Studios to produce the movie. ## Initially, the movie was announced with the release date, which was September 30, 2022. However, due to the second covid-19 wave, the movie couldn't go on floors. Now the makers are planning to take the movie on floors in early next year, and keeping that in mind, Fighter has been slated to release on Republic Day (26 January) 2023 in theaters worldwide. ## Fighter marks Siddharth Anand's maiden production under his banner MARFLIX. It will jointly produce by Mamta Anand, Ajit Andhare, Ramon Chibb, and Anku Pande under the banners of MARFLIX and Viacom18 Studios. The movie will be made on budget of around Rs. 250 crores. Ammy Virk And Sonam Bajwa Starrer 'Puaada' Brings Audience Back To Theaters

Chandigarh, August 13, 2021: The first big Punjabi movie in one and a half years, Puaada starring Ammy Virk and Sonam Bajwa takes a good start at the box office upon its release on August 12. The rom-com hasn't got a wider release due to restrictions but it has done well to bring the audience to the theaters. ## The film has been released in around 75 theatres only when normally it would be around 175 in East Punjab. With the help of decent buzz before its release, the movie sold around 2800 tickets to PVR cinemas before its release which is on par with the 2020 Punjabi release, Sufna. Sufna also had sold 2800 tickets in PVR before release. ## Puaada saw good footfalls on day 1 even without three key properties including the highest collecting cinema for Punjabi films PVR Mohali and also no night shows in Delhi or Chandigarh. After seeing the good response on the first day, more and more shows and theaters are expected to come into play in the coming days. ## There were some multiplexes that recorded around 100 audience counts in the morning shows while single screens and non-national multiplex chains were even better as they recorded audience counts of 200 and even full houses. The collection of the movie is expected to remain low due to limited release in the first couple of days but it should pick up the pace over the weekend as more theaters and shows will be added. ## Irrespective of what will be the collection of Puaada, the audience is coming to theaters which is a good sign and a big boost to upcoming Hindi films. Aamir Khan Expressed Concern Over Direct-To-Digital Release Of Films

Mumbai, August 12, 2021: Bollywood's Mr. perfectionist, Aamir Khan has expressed concern over films releasing directly on digital platforms, ditching theaters. In the last and a half years, many Bollywood films including Laxmii, Sadak 2, Shershaah, Shakuntla Devi, among others have gone to direct OTT release. Ajay Devgn's Bhuj: The Pride of India is also ready for Disney Plus Hotstar release on August 13. ## While some more films are gearing up for OTT release, Akshay Kumar starrer Bell Bottom has sealed the theatrical release worldwide on August 19 and it brought joy among theater owners as it will kick off the unlocking of cinemas. Aamir Khan, however, admitted that theaters can only be open if the health situation in the country improves and that people get vaccinated.## At an event recently, Aamir Khan was quoted as saying, "Some films are releasing on OTT platforms, and as a film person, I am very concerned. I hope in the near future things will improve. It is not easy to talk about reopening cinema halls. Theatres can be opened up only when the health situation improves, and we control the Covid-19 situation as a society, we are all trying and working on it. R Balki's Psychological Thriller With Dulquer Salmaan Ropes In Sunny Deol, Pooja Bhatt & Shreya Dhanwanthary

Mumbai, August 11, 2021: Earlier in May this year, director R Balki announced his next film with Malayalam star Dulquer Salmaan. The yet-to-be-titled psychological thriller is written by R Balki and co-written by Rishi Virmani and Raja Sen. Now, the makers have brought a respectable cast on board to join Salmaan. ## As reported earlier, Sunny Deol has been confirmed to lead the cast along with Shreya Dhanwanthary, and Pooja Bhatt while Dulquer was already confirmed. The film marks R Balki's first collaboration with all four actors and the filmmaker is excited to shoot on the project after a long time. Balki last directed the 2018 National Award-winning drama Pad Man starring Akshay Kumar. ## "After months of waiting, for me, it is exciting to start shooting anything. Filmmakers Anurag Basu and Shoojit Sirkar were keen to bring iconic charactor to life on the big screen. Even versatile actor Ranbir Kapoor was reportadly finalized by Basu, however, things couldn't move forward due to various complications in the making. ## Now, things are falling in place and the biopic of Kishore Kumar is finally in the work. Amit Kumar, the son of the late singer, has taken the decision along with his family to produce and direct the biopic on the life and times of Kishore Kumar. Amit Kumar is himself a gifted and renowned singer and has acted in several films directed by and starring his father. ## "It was always my intention that we do the biopic. After all who knows him (Kishore Kumar) better than his family?. Yami Gautam And Sunny Kaushal To Star In Amar Kaushik's Thriller Film - Chor Nikal Ke Bhaaga

Mumbai, August 11, 2021: Filmmaker Amar Kaushik's thriller project, Chor Nikal Ke Bhaaga, which was supposed to take off in 2017 with John Abraham and Rajkummar Rao and producers Prerna Arora and Arjun N Kapoor, has reportedly been revived with a new cast and team. ## According to Peepingmoon.com, Sunny Kaushal and Yami Gautam have been finalized to play the lead in this reanimated version of the film that has been written by Siraj Ahmed who recently wrote Srijit Mukherji's short film in Netflix anthology Ray starring Ali Fazal and Shweta Basu Prasad. ## Amar Kaushik, however, will reportadly not be directing Chor Nikal Ke Bhaaga anymore, instead, he will work as a creative producer on this film while the directorial duty has been given to Ajay Singh, better known as Ajax. Kaushik is collaborating with producer Dinesh Vijan of Maddock Films to back this thriller based on a diamond heist. ## Interestingly, both Yami Gautam and Sunny Kaushal are already working on revived projects after they were earlier shelved due to various reasons. Shershaah Premiere: Sidharth Malhotra And Kiara Advani Starrer Screened At PVR In Delhi Ahead Of Digital Release

Delhi, August 10, 2021: It was the day of the big screen premiere of Sidharth Malhotra and Kiara Advani starrer, Shershaah, ahead of its worldwide release on August 12 on Amazon Prime Video. Mumbai, August 10, 2021: Earlier in the day (August 10), Farhan Akhtar announced his next film that will mark her directorial return after Don 2 (2021). Led by an all-female cast including Priyanka Chopra, Alia Bhatt, and Katrina Kaif, the movie titled, Jee Le Zaraa, will be a road-trip film that will go on floors in mid next year and will hit cinemas in 2023. ## A few hours after the movie announcement, Priyanka Chopra took to Instagram and recalled that it was a movie that was planned last year in February before the covid-19 pandemic forced a strict nationwide lockdown. She shared a picture with Alia Bhatt and Katrina Kaif which was clicked in February 2020 when they first met to discuss a film with an all-female cast. ## Priyanka Chopra revealed that she wanted to do a very different Hindi film as soon as possible after The Sky Is Pink, and called up her 2 real friends, Katrina and Alia to discuss the same. They approached Farhan with the idea who was coincidentally planning a female road trip movie at the same time. ## "Let's rewind, to me musing about wanting to do another Hindi movie ASAP, on an unusually rainy night in Mumbai in Nov 2019", PC wrote on Insta. "But it had to be the right one - different, cool, never been done before… I thought. The idea grew into a movie helmed by an all-female cast. There are not enough Hindi movies that are female multi-starrers. This led to an impulsive phone call… to my 2 real friends about this idea that involved 3 on-screen girlfriends. Srinagar, August 6, 2021: Paradise on earth, Jammu & Kashmir used to be one of the top shooting destinations for filmmakers. However, due to the tensions in the region, the filmmakers began to avoid shooting here. And now, to make J&K a shooting hub, the government is working towards it taking important steps to invite filmmakers to shoot their projects. ## In this process, Lt governer of J&K Manoj Sinha, the presence of actor Aamir Khan, filmmaker Rajkumar Hirani, and producer Mahaveer Jain launched a new Jammu & Kashmir's Film Policy-2021 in Srinagar, on Thursday (August 5). ## "I invite filmmakers from across the world to explore the beauty of J&K. At the same time, also avail a host of incentives, besides world-class facilities", Sinha said. The government has set up a single-window clearance mechanism; prepared equipment, location, and talent directories, besides offering a host of incentives for filmmakers coming to the UT.## The policy will facilitate overall growth of the film industry in the region, setting up of J&K Film Development Council, a website for talent pool and shooting destinations; development of shooting locales, infrastructure for film screening, the revival of closed cinema halls, upgrade of cinema halls, setting up of multiplexes and cinema halls, destination marketing, J&K film festival, and restoration and preservation of J&K films.## "The new policy also aims at maximizing the potential of promising local talent and creating livelihood opportunities. The policy has been drafted after consultation with experts and in-depth study of similar policies of other states/UTs. Suggestions of renowned personalities of the film industry have also been incorporated", the L-G added. ## Sinha said to assist in film shooting, they have manpower of more than 1,500 trained artists which will also provide an opportunity to the local talent.
