Box Office: 'Fast X' Scores A Very Good Extended Opening Week In India

Mumbai, May 25 - Vin Diesel-fronted Hollywood action thriller Fast X was the first choice of Indian moviegoers this week, and rightly so, it scored one of the biggest opening weeks for a non-superhero Hollywood titles in India. ## "Fast & Furious" is one of the most loved Hollywood franchises in India and the 10th installment has lived up to the expectations. The movie was released on Thursday (May 18), and despite the mid-week release, it scored a very good 4-day weekend with approx. 60 crores net (71 crores gross) collection. ## The high-octane actioner remained steady during the weekdays which helped it to post around 79+ crores net in the extended 8-day first week. This is the second-biggest opening week total for a non-superhero Hollywood title in India, after "The Lion King" (2019) which scored 81+ crores net collection. ## "Fast X" is approaching 100 crores net club and it will breach this mark mostly during the second week. It will be the second film in the "Fast and Furious" franchise to enter the 100 crores net club in India after "Fast & Furious 7" (2015) which scored approx. 108 crores net. It got mixed word of mouth but Despite that, the movie witnessed an upward trend over the weekend to score a fantastic 71 crores gross ($8.6 million) 4-day weekend. ## The Louis Leterrier's directorial held well on the make-or-break first Monday by grossing over 7 crores and remained steady since then which has ensured a healthy lifetime gross total in India of the movie. The total first-week gross collection is close to 94 crores and it will breach the 100 crores gross mark during the second weekend to become the first Hollywood movie of the year to do so. ## "Fast X" is the 4th Hollywood hit of the year in India. Vin Diesel Confirms 'Fast and Furious' Spinoffs, Including a Female-Led Movie

Los Angeles, May 23 - The "Fast & Furious" movies are not going anywhere anytime soon despite the finale of the main franchise.## The 10th main installment of the franchise "Fast X" is playing in cinemas and the second part of it is scheduled to release in 2025. There might be a 12th film in the franchise but that is not confirmed yet but the Fast family will continue to entertain the audiences. ## Vin Diesel, the lead hero and one of the producers of the "Fast and Furious" franchise has confirmed that he already has plans for spinoffs, including a female-led film. "I started developing the female spinoff... in 2017 with other spinoffs, and the sooner I deliver the finale, the sooner I can launch all the spinoffs", Diesel told Variety reporter Marc Malkin. ## Vin Diesel earlier this month teased that "Fast X" might be spread out over three films. It was originally planned to end in two parts but since there are so many characters, Diesel said that "There was no way I can pull that off unless I had everyone on for five seconds. Los Angeles, May 21 - The 10th main installment in the Universal Pictures' "Fast & Furious" franchise, Fast X has an excellent opening weekend at the worldwide box office. ## The high-octane action thriller scored $318.50 million (2640 crores) worldwide in its opening weekend, including $67 million at the domestic (North America) box office. Domestically, the movie opened slightly lower than the last movie "F9 - The Fast Saga" which grossed $70 million.## While the movie scored on the expected lines in North America, it surpassed expectations internationally by grossing $251.50 million over the 5-day weekend. Los Angeles, May 20 - The DC Studios' biggest bet this year, The Flash is getting ready to release this June. It is the first solo movie for DC's iconic superhero characters on the big screen, which will bring Michael Keaton's Batman along with a few other key heroes and villains. ## DC has been all over for the last few years and finding it difficult to win over the hearts of the audiences. 'Fast X' Opening Day Advance Booking Status In India

Christopher Nolan's 'Oppenheimer' Gets A New Explosive Trailer

Marvel Studios 'Blade' Production Set To Be Delayed Due To Writers Strike

Los Angeles, May 6 - The writers' strike in the USA has started taking a toll on upcoming films, including Marvel movies. ## According to THR, Marvel Studios has stopped the pre-production work on its upcoming vampire thriller feature film Blade starring Mahershala Ali. It becomes the first tentpole movie impacted by the strike. ## Marvel had recently hired "True Detective" creator Nic Pizzolatto to work on the script but it was too late for the studio to avail his service due to the strike.
