Mumbai, April 4 - Sony Pictures hugely anticipated computer-animated superhero film Spider-Man: Across the Spider Verse is getting ready to release in theaters on June 2 this year. ## Based on the Marvel Comics character Miles Morales/Spider-Man, the movie will have a wide release in as many as 10 languages in India. This is the first time a Hollywood film will be released in 10 languages in India. ## The studio released a new stunning trailer of "Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse" and confirmed the release in English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Punjabi, Gujarati, Marathi, Bengali, Kannada, and Malayalam, languages on June 2.## Directed by Joaquim Dos Santos, Kemp Powers, and Justin K. Thompson, "Across the Spider-Verse" will be up against Shah Rukh Khan's mega movie "Jawan" which is also releasing on June 2 in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu languages. ## In the film, Miles goes on an adventure across the multiverse with a new team of Spider-People, known as the Spider-Force. Los Angeles, October 28 - Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures' next installment of Venom has found its director. The Tom Hardy-fronted will be directed by Kelly Marcel who wrote and produced the first two "Venom" installments, according to Deadline.## The report says Marcel and Hardy will also produce Venom 3 with Marcel writing the screenplay from a story by Marcel and Hardy. Avi Arad, Matt Tolmach, Amy Pascal, and Hutch Parker are also producing the blockbuster installment.## The first two films in the franchise - "Venom", and "Venom: Let There Be Carnage" were directed by Ruben Fleischer and Andy Serkis, respectively. The critics' unfriendly franchise has made over $1.36 billion at the worldwide box office for two films. ## Deadline reports that it is not yet clear who will join Tom Hardy who will be returning to play the lethal protector Venom. Mumbai, October 20 - It has been nearly 8 months since Sony Pictures India in association with Mukesh Khanna's Bheeshm International, and Brewing Thoughts Private Limited announced big screen adaptation of the popular television superhero show Shaktimaan. ## Ever since the announcement, the makers have been searching for a director to helm this trilogy, and it seems they have finally found the one. According to Pinkvilla, Malayalam director Basil Joseph, who directed the critically acclaimed desi superhero movie "Minnal Murali", is in the advance talks to helm "Shaktimaan" trilogy. ## The report says that Basil is himself a huge Shaktimaan fan and has shown keen interest in directing this film. ## "The director has already met the Shaktimaan team multiple times and is keen to come on board the film. The producers have asked Basil to come up with his own version of the screenplay to know if he is on the same wavelength as the team on the visual and story-telling front", Pinkvilla reports.## The "Shaktimaan" trilogy will be made on a huge budget and the makers are looking for the best artists to come on board the film. The makers are believed to be in talks with several directors and Basil is the front-runner to be at the helm of affairs, as all the meetings have met with a positive response.## Meanwhile, the makers are yet to lock in the lead actor to play this iconic role which made the childhood of the 90s kids awesome. Los Angeles, July 15 - Sony Pictures has acquired the distribution rights of Jennifer Lawrence-starrer comedy film No Hard Feelings, according to Variety. The price tag, however, has not been revealed by the makers. ## The movie will be directed by Gene Stupnitsky, a writer and co-executive producer on NBC's "The Office". Sony Pictures has billed the movie as an 'R-rated comedy with a heart' and sets June 16, 2023, release date in theaters. ## It will be the first R-Rated comedy movie in Hollywood for a long time as comedy movies are often made to attract family audiences. "No Hard Feelings" is set in Montauk, New York, a hamlet on the east end of Long Island. Apart from headlining the movie, Lawrence will also be producing it with Alex Saks, Marc Provissiero, Naomi Odenkirk, and Justine Ciarrocchi. ## Meanwhile, Sony Pictures, which has been one of the few major Hollywood studios to stand by the theaters during the covid-19 pandemic, has acquired the distribution rights of the movie with the intention to give it a theatrical release. Mumbai, July 7 - Bollywood star Ranveer Singh has been shooting for Karan Johar's "Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani" for quite some time now as the film, co-stars Alia Bhatt, is scheduled to release in February 2023. Before that, Ranveer will be headlining Rohit Shetty's comic caper "Cirkus", due on December 23, 2022, release. ## Ranveer, apart from the aforementioned films, will also be doing the Hindi remake of director Shankar's "Anniyan". However, the production has been delayed indefinitely due to Shankar's other commitments for "RC 15" and "Indian 2". Meanwhile, the actor has been discussing multiple films and one of them is "Shaktimaan". ## Sony Pictures India and actor-producer Mukesh Khanna had earlier announced the "Shaktimaan" trilogy. According to a report by Pinkvilla, the makers have approached Ranveer Singh to play this iconic Indian superhero in the big-screen adaptation of Shaktimaan and he has shown his interest in doing it.## The report states that while Ranveer is excited to explore the superhero space, he hasn't signed on the dotted lines to come officially on board the movie as "he is waiting to get a final narration, as well as an update on who the director of the film is". Mukesh Khanna recently revealed that they are in touch with a top Indian director to helm the movie and an announcement for the same will be made soon. ## Meanwhile, Ranveer will be starring in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's passion project, "Baiju Bawra", in which he will be paired with Alia Bhatt again. The movie was supposed to go on floors by this year itself and has now reportedly been delayed a year. Mumbai, June 18 - The iconic television show, "Shaktimaan" was a huge hit when it was first aired in 1997. Mukesh Khanna played the titular superhero character and his alter ego Pandit Gangadhar Vidhyadhar Mayadhar Omkarnath Shastri, a photographer for the newspaper Aaj Ki Aawaz.## The legendary superhero character, which made the childhood of 90s kids awesome, will now be returning to the big screen in the form of the "Shaktimaan" trilogy. Sony Pictures, which is behind the Marvel superhero films like "Spider-Man", and "Venom", hold the rights to the film. ## In a recent conversation with Amar Ujala, Mukesh Khanna shared a few details about the movie and also hint who could play the titular role. The actor, and producer said that it will be made on a huge budget of Rs. 300 crores and will have full desi vibes. ## "This project has come to me after many years. People used to tell me to make Shaktimaan 2. I didn't want to bring Shaktimaan back on TV", Khanna said. "After internal talks, I joined hands with the Sony people and later made the news public. People want to know what’s happening next. Now, what should I tell them? This is a big film of at least Rs 300 crore. Can't tell you much about it till everything is finalized". ## "This movie is being made by the makers of Spider-Man. But, Shaktimaan will be desi. I have prepared the story of the film in my own way. My only condition to them was that they wouldn't change the story", he added. ## Mukhesh Khanna hints that he might turn Shakitmaan again as he feels that the Indian audience will not accept anyone else in this iconic role. "People ask who will become Shaktimaan? This is also a very big question in itself, which I will not answer, but it is also certain that without Mukesh Khanna, there will be no Shaktimaan. Because if someone else becomes Shaktimaan, then the whole country will not accept him", he added. ## Earlier this year, Sony Pictures made the official announcement of the movie and also gave the first look at Shakitmaan's new suit. The movie was unleashed at the box office and grossed a whopping $1.89 billion worldwide, becoming the only film to top $1 billion during the covid-19 pandemic. ## Directed by Jon Watts, the movie did introduce the multiverse concept in the MCU and left the audiences wanting more. Such was the satisfaction of watching this film that many believed it should have been nominated for the Oscars, which, obviously didn't happen. It, however, got nominations in the Best Visual Effects category. ## While the Academy didn't honor the movie with a single award, "Spider-Man: No Way Home" beat all the others to take home the Best Movie award at this year's MTV Movie & TV Awards. Mumbai, May 2 - Marvel/Sony's "Spider-Man: No Way Home" was released in December 2021 and went on to become one of the biggest grosser of all time with a worldwide collection of $1.89 billion. The Tom Holland-fronted movie has been released in most parts of the world except in the biggest movie market in the world, China. ## During the covid-19 pandemic, it has been difficult for Hollywood to release its movies in China, especially Marvel movies. "Spider-Man: No Way Home" was supposed to release in China in January this year and things didn't work at that time. And now, the Chinese authorities have put one condition in front of makers in order to release "No Way Home" in China. ## According to reports, the Chinese authorities have asked Sony Pictures to remove The Statue of Liberty from "Spider-Man: No Way Home" if they wanted to release the film in China. This demand is something that will be very hard for Sony to accept as the entire climax action sequence in the movie takes place with a trio of Spider-Men swinging over and around Lady Liberty as they battle the supervillains. ## It needs to be noted that China has been a huge market for Spider-Man movies in the past. The previous two Spider-Man movies featuring Tom Holland had grossed $116 million and $200 million in China, respectively. Los Angeles, April 26 - Sony Pictures has officially greenlit the third "Venom" movie at CinemaCon 2022. The first two Venom movies have collectively grossed $1.4 billion at the global box office to date. ## The first "Venom" movie was released in 2018 and grossed more than $850 million at the global box office along with an 81% Audience Score on Rotten Tomatoes. The last movie, "Venom: Let There Be Carnage", was released in October 2021 and went on to score $502 million worldwide. ## Sony Pictures, however, hasn't revealed much about "Venom 3", just the pic's logo in a closing sizzle reel, and no talent attachments were revealed. Venom might have a crossover with Spider-Man in the third movie as teased in "Venom 2". ## Meanwhile, Sony has revealed that the third "Spider-Verse" movie has been titled "Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse" and it is dated March 29, 2024. Los Angeles, April 21 - Sony Pictures has pushed back the release dates of its much-anticipated superhero movies. The studio, on Wednesday, announced that "Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse", which was slated for theatrical release on October 7 this year, will now open on June 2, 2023. Instead, Sony's live-action/CGI musical comedy Lyle, Lyle, Crocodile — based on the book series by Bernard Waber, will now debut on Oct. 7 from November 18, 2022. ## "Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse" is the first of a two-part sequel to 2018's "Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse", which pushed the boundaries of animation and collected a best animated Oscar. It is easily the most-anticipated Spider-Man animated movie. ## Meanwhile, the second part of "Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse", has landed a release date of March 29, 2024. The film once again voice stars Shameik Moore as Miles Morales while Oscar Isaac voices Miguel O'Hara/Spider-Man 2099, An alternate version of Spider-Man from the future. ## Sony also revealed that "Madame Web", based on the Marvel Comic character, will open on July 7, 2023, while "The Equalizer 3" will hit the big screen on Sept. 1, 2023. Well, one Florida man has gone way beyond that and watched "Spider-Man: No Way Home" 292 times, and sets a new world record of watching a single movie most times in theaters. ## A person, named Ramiro Alanis, has seen the global box office blockbuster 292 times, which is 30 days of seeing the movie when you add it all up, according to the Guinness Book Of World Records (via comic book).
