National Cinema Day 2023: 'Fukrey 3', 'Mission Raniganj', And 'Jawan' Score 15 Crore Net Collection

Mumbai, October 14 - The National Cinema Day 2023 witnessed a very good response as a large number of audiences thronged to cinemas to watch the movies at a price as low as Rs. 99 per ticket. The major running films scored a big jump in footfalls as well as in collection. ## Bollywood particularly has a very good outing today as almost all the films scored a big jump, including the comic caper "Fukrey 3", Akshay Kumar's "Mission Raniganj", and Shah Rukh Khan's "Jawan". The combined collection of these three films scored an estimated 15+ crores net which is fantastic.## "Fukrey 3" has its 16th day at the box office today, and thanks to NCD, it scored a jump of over 400% for an estimated 5.25 crores net collection. This takes its total collection to over 86.50 crores net, keeping the movie in the race to top 100 crores net lifetime collection.## Akshay Kumar's "Mission Raniganj", which has otherwise been a dismal show so far, got the full use of NCD 2023 and scored an estimated 5 crores net on its 8th day/second Friday, jumping around 300% from yesterday's collection. This pushes to total collection to around 23.50 crores net in 8 days which is still a low total.## The action thriller "Jawan" has truly been a sensational blockbuster. Today is the movie's 6th Friday/37th day, and thanks to NCD, it jumped over 550% for an estimated 5 crores net collection, pushing the total collection to around 632.50 crores net in 37 days.## It will be interesting to see if the makers opt for similar ticket prices going forward as it could hugely benefit the overall collection, especially to "Mission Raniganj" which is scoring much with normal prices. ## Stay tuned...

It was previously reported that the makers were looking to release the movie on either November 10 or 13, but now, it has been locked on November 12 in India as well as internationally.## It will have a Sunday release on Diwali, a unique strategy adopted by Yash Raj Films keeping everything in mind. "The release of Tiger 3 will coincide with Diwali and YRF is looking to adopt a unique pattern for the film's release. All three films have combined sold over 5 lakh tickets for tomorrow and the numbers are increasing rapidly with each passing hour. ## Action thriller "Jawan" has already completed 5 weeks with a domestic gross collection of around 745 crores till now. The NCD 2023 will give the audiences a chance to watch this mega-blockbuster on the big screen at such low prices. The movie has sold over 3 lakh tickets for NCD.## Akshay Kumar's "Mission Raniganj" has a dismal show so far with a domestic gross collection of just 21.50 crores in 7 days. 'Mission Raniganj', 'Thank You For Coming', and 'Dono' Score Low Opening Weekend At The Bollywood Box Office

Mumbai, October 9 - It was not so good weekend at the Bollywood box office as far as the new releases are concerned. The just concluded weekend saw the release of Akshay Kumar's Mission Raniganj, all female-led adult comedy-drama Thank You For Coming, and the heart-warming love story Dono, but none of them could carry the momentum Bollywood was going through over the last few months. ## "Mission Raniganj", based on real-life survival thriller events and featuring one of the biggest Bollywood stars, couldn't find audiences in theatres in its opening weekend and scored just a little over 12 crores net collection. The movie needed to score more than the usual jump on Saturday and Sunday after the very low opening day. It did score a big jump on Saturday but was not enough to cover the lost ground and then was affected by the World Cup match on Sunday.## The adult comedy-drama, "Thank You For Coming", didn't get the opportunity to welcome the moviegoers in theatres as it also ended up scoring a very low opening weekend. The opening of the movie itself was low with 1.06 crores net, and despite the jump on Saturday and Sunday, it managed to collect 4.42 crores net in three days. The best it can now hope to score over opening day collection in the weekdays for a decent lifetime total. ## "Dono", a heart-warming romantic drama, starring debutante Rajveer Deol and Paloma Dhillon, was a goner on the opening day itself. It scored around 1 crore net in the opening weekend, joining the list of new releases which failed at the box office. ## Meanwhile, the holdover film, Shah Rukh Khan's mega-blockbuster "Jawan" had a fantastic 5th weekend in Hindi, scoring approximately 6.25 crores net which takes the total Hindi net collection to over 566 crores in 32 days. Shahid Kapoor To Headline A Mythological Epic To Be Produced by Vashu Bhagnani

Mumbai, October 7 - Bollywood star Shahid Kapoor is gearing up to commence the shoot of director Rosshan Andrrews' cop thriller film which begins later this month. After finishing this, the "Kabir Singh" actor will team up with producer Vashu Bhagnani for a mythological epic, according to Pinkvilla. ## It is said that the project in question is based on one of the most powerful characters of the epic Mahabharata. While the details about the project are not revealed, it will be a VFX-heavy project, mounted on a massive scale. The movie will be directed by a South Indian director. ## It is said that the yet-untitled movie is the most ambitious project for Vashu Bhagnani and Pooja Entertainment. Box Office: Mission Raniganj Opening Day Early Estimates; Disastrous Start

Mumbai, October 6 - There was an Akshay Kumar-starrer, Mission Raniganj released this Friday, and the audience was hardly aware of that. The makers haven't even promoted that movie properly, suggesting that they either were too confident or had no hopes for it.## The movie got favourable reviews from critics and the initial word of mouth also seems positive, but because the makers didn't put much effort into promoting it and the lack of awareness among general audiences, there was hardly any opening of the movie at the box office.## Mission Raniganj opened to dull occupancy in the morning and it didn't improve a bit in the next shows as well, as early estimates suggest around 2.75 crores net opening. According to reports, Aamir will be headlining the official adaptation of the Spanish sports dramedy, Champions, with RS Prassana as the director. ## Aamir was supposed to headline the "Champions" adaptation immediately after LSC, but after the later movie failed at the box office, the superstar dropped the idea of taking another remake before he finally decided to headline as well as produce it. Mumbai, October 4 - After the historic blockbuster success of Gadar 2, Bollywood star Sunny Deol is set to headline more sequels to his iconic movies. Sunny, who just yesterday announced his reunion with Rajkumar Santoshi for a period action drama film Lahore 1947, has been in talks for the sequel to Border and there is finally good news regarding the same.## According to a report by Pinkvilla, actor Ayushmann Khurana is in the advanced talks to join Sunny Deol in this epic war drama sequel. The actor will play the parallel lead alongside Sunny in Border 2, to be directed by JP Dutta who will also produce it with Bhushan Kumar of T-Series.## The makers have planned to make Border 2 on a grand scale and have a vision to make it the biggest war drama film in Indian cinema. The movie is currently in the scripting stage and will start shooting in mid-next year. The makers are in talks with several actors and details regarding them will come in due course.## Meanwhile, Sunny Deol's Lahore 1947, which will be produced by Aamir Khan, will start rolling out around December this year. He also has an action drama, Baap in the pipeline. On the other hand, Ayushmann Khurrana, who was recently seen in the comedy-drama, Dream Girl 2, will be seen in Maddock Films' vampire horror-comedy film Vampires of Vijaynagar which will be released in 2025.## Stay tuned...

December 2023 To Become The First Month To Register 1000 Crores Net Collection At The Hindi Box Office?

Mumbai, October 4 - The revival of the Indian box office, especially of Bollywood post the horror of the COVID-19 pandemic has been heartening. In 2023, the box office soared to new heights and has already crossed 8000 crores gross in India with still 3 blockbuster months left in the tank.## This year, the Hindi film industry rose from Phoenix and created new records at the domestic box office. It all began with Shah Rukh Khan's mega-blockbuster Pathaan in January and this box office juggernaut is continuing with his latest blockbuster, Jawan, starring SRK again. ## Such has been the response from moviegoers that 2023 recorded the biggest signal month collection of all time in August when Sunny Deol's monster blockbuster, Gadar 2: The Katha Continues and Akshay Kumar's OMG 2 released. With 814 crores net collection, August is now the biggest single month ever at the Hindi box office. The following month, September is second best with 689 crores net, thanks to Jawan which became the biggest Bollywood grosser of all time.## The Bollywood industry is hook-a-cook over the historic box office performance this year, but be rest assured, the potential biggest month of the year is yet to come. December 2023 is packed with, not one but multiple blockbusters. If there is no postponement from the current schedule, the last month of the year will potentially become the biggest ever in Hindi domestically.## The December month carnage will begin with Ranbir Kapoor's Animal and Vicky Kaushal-starrer Sam Bahadur on December 1st. The gangster action drama, Animal, which is directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, is particularly having a sky-high buzz and it is expected to emerge as Ranbir's one of biggest grossers ever. ## Sam Bahadur, which is based on the life of Sam Manekshaw who was the Chief of the Army Staff of the Indian Army during the Indo-Pakistani War of 1971, is directed by Meghna Gulzar and as far as the box office is concerned, it carried the potential of turning beast as Kaushal has proved his mettle with patriotic film in the past.## A week later, Sidharth Malhotra's aerial action thriller, Yodha and Katrina Kaif's Merry Christmas will take on each other on December 8. Originally scheduled for December 15, both movies recently advanced their release dates. Yodha vs. Merry Christmas is perhaps the lesser-hyped clash at the moment but it can generate buzz after the teaser/trailer launch and can emerge as the dark horse at the box office.## The biggest box office clash of the year, or possibly the Indian cinema, superstar Shah Rukh Khan's Dunki and Prabhas-fronted Salaar will take place on December 22 during the Christmas weekend. SRK, after delivering two back-to-back mega-blockbusters, will look to score a hat-trick and with Rajkumar Hirani in the director's chair, Dunki is already looking like a box office volcano.## Salaar, from the makers of the KGF franchise, can emerge as another big hit at the Hindi box office from South India. It is easily the most-awaited Pan-Indian movie and with superstar Prabhas in the lead role under the direction of Prashanth Neel, Salaar should score a big success in Hindi.## There is enough scope for the aforementioned films to make December 2023 the biggest month of all time, and eventually the first 1000 crores net or more. Dunki and Salaar are easily looking to contribute the major chunk of the total box office collection of the month, followed by Animal and Sam Bahadur in the clash. However, all the movies released in December will have to fight out for the screens, not only with each other but also with the holdover movies. Box Office: Fukrey 3 First Tuesday Early Estimates

Mumbai, October 3 - After the good extended holiday weekend, comic caper "Fukrey 3" sees a drop on its first working day. The drop from Monday, which was a Gandhi Jayanti holiday, is around 60% while the same is around 40% from Friday which is a bit higher than expected. ## On its first Tuesday/6th day, "Fukrey 3" scored an estimated 4.50 crores net collection (can go higher) which takes the total collection to around 59.50 crores in 6 days. A 5+ crore net Tuesday would have been a nice hold. The first 8-day extended weekend is looking to be around 67 crores. ## "Fukrey 3", despite the underwhelming first working day, is in a safe position due to the controlled budget. The movie is still in the race to join the 100 Crores Net Club, but if it falls short, the movie will be a box-office success. It should be able to cross the lifetime collection of its predecessor which scored approximately 80 crores net in 2017 in the second weekend.## "Fukrey Returns" had scored 50 crores net in the first week which the latest hit crossed in just 5 days. The trend is much better for the latest movie, which should ensure a healthy lifetime total for it though it has to face competition from Akshay Kumar's "Mission Raniganj" this Friday while Shah Rukh Khan's "Jawan" is already running strong.## Stay tuned...

Maddock Films Announces Theatrical Release Dates of John Abraham's 'Tehran', Vicky Kaushal's 'Chhava', Shraddha Kapoor's 'Stree 2' And 7 More Films

Mumbai, October 3 - Producer Dinesh Vijan of Maddock Films has announced the theatrical release dates of its 10 films that will debut in theatres over the next two years. Among the 10 films, "Happy Teachers Day" will release this year while 6 films will debut in 2024, and 3 films will hit screens in 2025.## Happy Teachers Day - Directed by Mikhil Musale, the movie stars Nimrat Kaur, Radhika Madan, Bhaygashree, and Subodh Bhave in prominent roles. It will hit screens on October 27, 2023. ## Shahid Kapoor and Kriti Sanon's untitled next - Bollywood stars Shahid Kapoor and Kriti Sanon team up for the first for this robotic romantic comedy film, billed as an impossible love story. It is directed by Sandeep Kewlani & Abhishek Anil Kapur and will be released on October 2, 2024.## Chaava - This historical action drama film is a larger-than-life biopic of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, the eldest son of the Maratha empire's founder and the great warrior king, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. Vicky Kaushal plays the lead role with Rashmika Mandanna as the female lead. Directed by Laxman Utekar, "Chaava" will hit cinemas on December 6, 2024.## Ekkis - Directed by Sriram Raghavan, and starring Dharmendra, Agastya Nanda, and Jaideep Ahlawat, Ekkis will be released on January 10, 2025.## Vampires of Vijaynagar - Another movie that is touted to be a part of the horror-comedy universe. Maddock Films hasn't revealed that cast yet, but reports say it will be headlined by Ayushmann Khurrana and Samantha Ruth Prabhu. It will be directed by Aditya Sarpotdar, and Maddock has scheduled it for February 14, 2025, release on Valentine's Day.## Diler - Directed by Kunal Deshmukh, it will hit theatres on April 10, 2025.
