The Hindi Remake Of Suriya's 'Soorarai Pottru' Gets Clearance To Go-Ahead By Madras High Court

Chennai, September 8, 2021: Earlier in July this year, Suriya starrer critically acclaimed and widely appreciated Tamil film, Soorarai Pottru was confirmed to be remade in Hindi. Suriya's 2D Entertainment joined hands with Vikram Malhotra's Abundantia Entertainment to produce the Hindi remake of this monster digital hit. ## Soon after the Hindi remake was announced, the movie hit a roadblock after Guneet Monga's Sikhya Entertainment, who had co-produced the film in Tamil along with Suriya's 2D Entertainment, had approached the court and requested a stay on the film's remake. The judge had granted an injunction and advised both the team to find out a friendly solution. ## And now, nearly after two months, the case came up for hearing on Wednesday (September 8) and the Madras High Court vacated the injunction granted to Sikhya Entertainment. With this judgment, the Hindi remake of Soorarai Pottru gets clearance to go ahead and the makers can now resume work on this film. ## Sudha Kongara, who has directed the original film, will also direct the Hindi version of the film. It will be produced by Vikram Malhotra's Abundantia Ent in association with Suriya's 2D Entertainment. Soorarai Pottru' was based on the life story of Air Deccan founder GR Gopinath. Suriya won praise for his role and won several awards. ## The makers have not revealed yet who will play Suriya’s role in the Hindi version. Harrdy Sandhu: We Want Our Audience To Enjoy Every Second Of '83' Film

Mumbai, September 7, 2021: Ranveer Singh-led biographical sports drama film, "83" is one of the most-awaited Hindi films of the year. Directed by Kabir Khan, "83" has an ensemble cast including Punjabi singer-actor, Harrdy Sandhu, who will be seen portraying the role of former cricketer Madan Lal. ## Sandhu, who played cricket for over a decade as a fast bowler before an elbow injury forced him to give up this game in 2007, said that seeing the release of the movie getting delayed every few months impacts all. However, he stated that the team of "83" is ready to wait a little longer until the cinema returns to its regular capacity. ## "We've put in so much hard work and love into '83', and seeing its release delayed every few months does impact all of us but we also understand it's for the safety of our fans", Sandhu said in a chat with IANS on his 35th birthday. ## The singer-actor added, "We want our audience to enjoy every second of the movie and if we have to wait for it a little longer until operations return to their regular capacity, it doesn't upset us at all". ## "83" traces the story of India's first-ever cricket World Cup victory in 1983 under the leadership of former Indian captain Kapil Dev, played by Ranveer Singh. Despite getting delayed, Sandhu strongly believes that the film deserves a theatrical release, and only Reliance Entertainment and director Kabir Khan can give an exact release date. ## The movie was earlier scheduled for theatrical release on 10 April 2020 but was pushed to 25 December 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. However, in November 2020, the film was again delayed to the first quarter of 2021 by makers seeing the worst occupancy report of audience towards theatres owing to the continuity of pandemic. ## It is jointly produced by Kabir Khan, Vishnuvardhan Induri, Deepika Padukone, and Sajid Nadiadwala and co-distributed by Reliance Entertainment. Akshay Kumar To Resume Ram Setu Shoot In October In Gujrat!

Mumbai, September 5, 2021: Actress Kangana Ranaut, who will be seen on the big screen in the upcoming movie Thalaivi, has praised multiplex chains for allowing the movie to screen in their theaters. The actress had earlier urged the multiplex chains to help each other during these tough times after multiplex owners refused to screen the movie as it has only two week theatrical window for the Hindi version. ## While multiplex chains won't screen Thalaivi's Hindi version, they agreed to screen Tamil and Telugu versions as they have four week theatrical window before going to Amazon Prime Video. Calling it a ray of hope, Kangana took to Twitter and said that she was moved by the decision and penned a long note. ## She wrote: "PVR's decision to screen the Tamil and Telugu versions of the film is a ray of hope for Team Thalaivii as well as all those cinegoers who are waiting to rush back to their favourite multiplex chain for a cinematic experience. I am personally moved by the kind words used for me and Team Thalaivii". ## The actress hopes that the Hindi version of the film also gets to see the light of day. Kangana Ranaut's Thalaivi In Trouble; Actress Urges Multiplexes To Help Each Other

Mumbai, September 3, 2021: Kangana Ranaut starrer Thalaivi, which is scheduled to release in theaters on September 10, has found itself in hot water. Producer Vishnu Vardhan Induri has decided to release the Hindi version of the film on Netflix only after two weeks of its theatrical release, which is not going well with theater owners. ## Disappointed with the makers' decision, the national multiplex chains have decided not to release the movie on multiplexes and have jointly chosen to insist on a minimum exclusive theatrical window of four weeks until normalcy returns. ## A top officer of a leading multiplex chain was quoted as saying, "Two weeks is simply not acceptable to us. If we make a concession in the case of one film (in this case, Thalaivii), another producer would ask for a similar or a new concession. This will never stop. We recently finalized our agreement with Yash Raj Films. That agreement also stipulates an exclusive cinema window of four weeks. After that, we will revert to the pre-pandemic 8-week theatrical window".## To this, Kangana took to her Instagram handle and shared a message for the multiplex owners, requesting them to help each other during the testing times. She wrote, "No films are choosing theatres, very few and very brave like my producers @vishnuinduri @shaaileshrsingh are compromising on huge profits and letting go of exclusive streaming options only for the love of cinema". ## "In these times we must support each other and not bully or arm-twist; it's our fundamental right to recover the cost of our film which we did, we may have two weeks window for Hindi version but for South, we have four weeks window yet multiplexes ganging up on us and stopping our release there as well…This is unfair and cruel in these testing times when major territories like Maharashtra are also shut…Please let's help each other in order to save theatres", she added. ## Thalaivi will also release in Tamil and Telugu.
