Christopher Nolan's 'Interstellar' Confirms Re-Release Date In India

Mumbai, January 11 - Christopher Nolan's epic sci-fi drama Interstellar is finally re-releasing In Indian cinemas after a delay of a couple of months due to Pushpa 2 - The Rule's nationwide dominance. ## Interstellar was supposed to be re-released in December last year with the US release to mark its 10th anniversary, but the makers had to postpone it as it didn't get enough IMAX screens in India. With Pushpa 2 slowing down, the Hollywood blockbuster gets a date. ## On Friday, January 10, Warner Bros. India took to social media to confirm that Interstellar would be re-released in India on February 7 in the original language and IMAX. It has seemingly been the most demanded Hollywood re-release in the country and the audience finally gets to experience this epic. ## Set in a dystopian future where Earth is suffering from catastrophic blight and famine, the film follows a group of astronauts who travel through a wormhole near Saturn in search of a new home for mankind. Mumbai, December 29 - Disney's animated adventure Mufasa: The Lion King has topped 100 crores gross collection at the Indian box office, becoming the third Hollywood movie of 2024 to achieve the feat after Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire and Deadpool & Wolverine. ## Directed by Barry Jenkins, Mufasa crossed the 100 crores gross mark on its second Saturday (9th day) as EOD gross is expected to be 108+ crores (including 3D charges). 'The Batman 2' Release Date Postponed

Los Angeles, December 28 - Warner Bros. Pictures has pushed back director Matt Reeves' The Batman 2 by a year and it will now arrive in 2027. The film is the follow-up to Reeves' The Batman, starring Robert Pattinson in the titular role. ## The superhero sequel was originally supposed to be released on October 2, 2026, but will now shift a year and debut on October 1, 2027, in Imax, Warner Bros. announced on Friday. Mumbai, December 24 - Disney's animated adventure film Mufasa: The Lion King is heading towards 100 crores gross collection at the Indian box office. The film has weathered Pushpa 2 - The Rule Storm and has performed better than expected. ## Mufasa, the prequel to 2019's The Lion King, was expected to do well in India due to the franchise's popularity and the voiceover of superstars Shah Rukh Khan and Mahesh Babu. However, the box office carnage of Pushpa 2 threatened Mufasa's prospects, which didn't happen. ## In 7 days so far, Mufasa has grossed around 88 crores (including 3D charges) in India which is a very good collection. It performed brilliantly on Christmas Day (December 25) and Boxing Day. Box Office: 'Mufasa - The Lion King' Underperforms With $122+ Million Worldwide Opening; Good In India

Mumbai, December 23 - Disney's animated adventure drama Mufasa: The Lion King was the number 1 movie at the worldwide box office this past weekend, however, it failed to match the high expectations and largely underperformed at the domestic and overseas box office. ## The Barry Jenkins' directorial prequel to The Lion King (2019) grossed just $35 million in its domestic (North America) opening weekend, well behind the industry's projection of $50+ million. Overseas also, the film didn't leave up to the expectations at $87.2 million for a worldwide cume of $122.2 million.## While the movie topped the global box office, it landed far behind pre-release expectations of $130 million overseas and $180 million globally. China was the biggest market for Mufasa with $7.8 million, followed by France with $7.7 million, and Mexico with $7.1 million. ## Meanwhile, the movie did well at the Indian box office, benefitting from the voiceover of superstars Shah Rukh Khan and Mahesh Babu. In its 3-day opening weekend, the film grossed approximately 46 crores (including 3D charges). The original The Lion King grossed 65+ crores in India in its first weekend. ## Mufasa now hopes to regain the lost ground during the Christmas and New Year holidays. Record Pre-Sales For Disney's 'Moana 2'

Los Angeles, October 30 - Disney's hugely-anticipated animated musical adventure film Moana 2 is bracing up for a massive opening at the domestic (North America) box office after pre-sales off to record start for an animated movie of 2024.## According to the online ticketing platform Fandango, the Walt Disney Animation Studios tentpole set records Monday in terms of first-day advance ticket sales for 2024 animated titles, beating Disney/Pixar's billion-dollar grosser Inside Out 2. The platform didn't provide pre-sales numbers. ## According to The Hollywood Reporter, the first-day pre-sales of Moana 2 are the fourth best for any movie of 2024, behind only Deadpool & Wolverine, Wicked and Dune: Part 2. The blockbuster sequel is scheduled to hit the big screens on November 27 during Thanksgiving weekend.## Disney/Pixar's Inside Out 2 opened to a massive $154 million in its 3-day opening weekend and the trade's projecting a $150+ million start for Moana 2 as well over the 5-day weekend. 'Jumanji 3' Sets Official Release Date

Los Angeles, October 29 — Sony Pictures announces that the next instalment of the adventure comedy franchise is officially in development and will be released before Christmas 2026, nearly 7 years after the last movie Jumanji: The Next Level (2019).## According to Deadline, director Jake Kasdan and star posse Dwayne Johnson, Kevin Hart, Jack Black and Karen Gillan are in talks and expected to return for Jumanji 3. The film will hit the screens on December 11, 2026, the same pre-Christmas slot that previous films in the Jumanji franchise released.## The third instalment of the rebooted Jumanji franchise is currently slated for a solo release on December 11 but there is Disney's untitled Star Wars movie and Warner Bros/Legendary’s supposed release of Dune 3 on December 18.## The original Jumanji was released in 1995, before its spin-off, Zathura: A Space Adventure launched in 2005. Box Office: 'Venom: The Last Dance' Scores A Good Opening Weekend In India

Mumbai, October 27 - Tom Hardy-fronted superhero movie Venom: Let There Be Carnage has had a good extended 4-day opening weekend and one of the biggest for a Hollywood movie of 2024 at the Indian box office. ## After scoring 5.50+ crores gross on its Thursday opening day, Venom 3 showed a good jump over the weekend to gross approximately 38.25 crores in 4 days which is the third biggest for a Hollywood title of the year after Deadpool & Wolverine (84 crores gross) and Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire (47 crore gross). ## The 39 crore gross opening weekend collection makes Venom 3 the second highest-grossing film of the franchise after crossing Venom: Let There Be Carnage which grossed approximately 28.50 crores in 2021. It will become the biggest grosser in the series by topping Venom (41+ crores gross) by tomorrow. ## Venom 3 is already the 4th highest-grossing Hollywood movie of 2024 at the Indian box office. Box Office: 'Venom: The Last Dance' Debuts With $175 Million Worldwide

Los Angeles, October 27 - Sony Pictures' Marvel movie Venom: The Last Dance debuted with a strong $175 million in its opening weekend at the worldwide box office, thanks to the international markets where the movie overperformed. ## The Tom Hardy-starrer superhero movie, however, has had a lower-than-expected opening at the domestic (North America) box office, grossing $51 million in its 3-day opening weekend. This is the lowest opening in the Venom franchise and the lowest ever for a comic book trilogy. ## In the Venom franchise, the film is nowhere close to the opening of the first two movies. The 2018 Venom scored $80 million on opening weekend, followed by Venom: Let There Be Carnage which opened to a then-pandemic record $90 million in North America. ## Overseas, Venom 3 performed fantastically and grossed $124 million over the 5-day opening weekend from 64 markets. This is way more than Venom: Let There Be Carnage ($62.3 million) and just behind Venom which scored $125.2 million internationally in its opening weekend. ## China was the biggest overseas market of Venom 3 with $46 million, followed by Mexico ($7.3 million), South Korea ($5.8 million), the UK ($5.7 million) and India ($4.6 million / 39 crores gross). Tom Holland's 'Spider-Man 4' Gets Official Release Date

Los Angeles, October 26 - Tom Holland officially returns to play Spider-Man as Sony Pictures has set Spider-Man 4 release date in July 2026. Shang-Chi director Destin Daniel Cretton will direct this Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) film. ## Recently, Holland said that the filming for Spider-Man 4 will commence in the summer of 2025 and now, Sony has confirmed that it would be released on July 24, 2026, two months after Marvel and Disney's Avengers: Doomsday which comes out on May 1, 2026.## Interestingly, Christopher Nolan's untitled next movie will reportedly be released on July 17, 2026, and it stars Tom Holland in the lead role with Matt Damon. This means Holland will have two back-to-back releases just a week apart. ## This is also not the first time a Spider-Man movie is releasing shortly after the Avengers film. Box Office: 'Venom: The Last Dance' Takes A Good Opening In India

Mumbai, October 25 - Sony Pictures' superhero movie Venom: The Last Dance has taken a good start at the Indian box office. The movie was released a day earlier than the North American debut on Wednesday. ## The film, despite the shows starting post-afternoon, beat the first two Venom movies' openings to score one of the biggest starts for Sony Pictures' Spider-Man Universe. It scored approximately 5.60 crores gross ($665K) on all versions on its first day. ## This is the best start for a Venom movie in India, beating the opening of the first Venom which minted approximately 5.25 crores gross collection in 2018. The second film, Venom: Let There Be Carnage was released during the Covid-19 pandemic and minted approximately 3.50+ crores gross opening. ## The initial word of mouth for Venom 3 seems to be mixed which has been the case with the previous films in the franchise as well.
