Akshay Kumar's 'Oh My God 2' To Take A Direct-To-Digital Route?

Mumbai, March 16 - Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar's poor run at the box office continues as his recently released "Selfiee" turned out to be one of the biggest disasters of all time. It could not even cross the collection of Akshay's "Bell Bottom" which was released during extremely difficult times of the covid-19 pandemic. ## The back-to-back underperformances of his films are making Akshay take different options for his upcoming films. With so many films in his kitty, Akshay is reportedly opting for a direct-to-digital release of a comedy-drama film "Oh My God 2".## According to LetsCinema, OMG 2 will directly be released via Voo/Jio Cinema. The release date, however, is not known yet but rumors say it might release in June/July this year. While the official confirmation is yet to be made, it comes as a shocking move as its predecessor "OMG – Oh My God!" (2012) and was a big box office blockbuster. ## Directed by Amit Rai, OMG2 was originally announced for a theatrical release and was supposed to release in 2022 before it was postponed indefinitely. All-Time Blockbuster Pathaan Completes 50 Days In Cinemas With Super Strong Box Office Collection

Mumbai, March 15 - Yash Raj Films' biggest blockbuster of all-time, Pathaan starring Shah Rukh Khan, John Abraham, and Deepika Padukone, has completed 50 days in cinemas today. While most of the films have been falling apart in the opening weekend itself, completing 50 days in theaters is no less than a historic achievement in today's time. ## On its 50th day, the Siddharth Anand's directorial is still being played in 20 countries. In India, it is playing in over 800 theaters and 135 cinemas across international markets in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu. YRF has also reduced ticket prices and resulting in, it still minting money at the box office. ## So far, Pathaan has grossed approx. 1045 crores at the worldwide box office, including approx. 655 crores domestically and approx. 390 crores overseas. The spy actioner has broken many records during its box office journey and one of them is becoming the highest-grossing Hindi language movie domestically and worldwide. ## It has beaten SS Rajamouli's Baahubali 2 to become the biggest film in India in a single language. John Abraham's Jim From Blockbuster Pathaan Set To Get A Spin-Off Film

Mumbai, March 15 - The mega-blockbuster success of Pathaan has proved why Shah Rukh Khan is one of the biggest superstars in the country. The movie was all about SRK and his comeback to the big screen, and in between his dominance on the screen, the other character of the movie who found appreciation was John Abraham's Jim. ## John Abraham portrayed the role of the lead antagonist Jim. Jim was himself a fierce RAW agent but unfortunate events made him turn up against his own people. Fans lauded John's performance as one his finest ever, and it was a matter of time before Yash Raj Film bring him back to its Spy Universe. ## Director Siddharth Anand had previously said that he would love to make a spin-off film on Jim and now, according to Mid-Day, YRF is indeed planning the project. ## "Given that a mere glimpse of his character's back story in Pathaan evoked such a positive response, the makers now want to show his heroics and the events that led him to become a fallen agent who lost hope in humanity, and turned into an evil mercenary", reports Mid-Day. ## The project is still in the early stage as YRF is currently working on "Tiger 3" and will then head to "War 2". The spin-off of Jim will focus on the establishment of the deeper connections of him with other characters in the Spy Universe. Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar First Monday Early Estimates

Mumbai, March 13 - Tu Jhoothi Main Makkar is heading for a decent hold on the first Monday of its box office run as the early estimates collections suggest 6-6.50 crores net. The hold is decent which is approx. 40% from Friday. The drop is, however, a bit higher because it does not have much to offer to the mass audience as it is catering to a small pool audience of multiplexes. ## The first Monday collections will take the total collections of the film to over 76cr net box office mark which is a good number, especially seeing the performance of the last few films. The extended first-week collections of the film will be around 88-90cr. Again a good number but it should have done better considering the cast and the budget of the film.## It's tough to say whether Tu Jhoothi Main Makkar will become a hit film at the box office. If the film had shown under 50% drop then there was a chance but it seems difficult now. Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar First Friday/Third Day Early Estimates

Mumbai, March 10 - Tu Jhoothi Main Makkar which had a good collection on the first two days is heading for another steady day at the box office as the collection is set to be in the same range as those of yesterday. As per the early estimates, the movie scored 10.5-11 crores net on its first Friday/third day. There is a drop in some centers, especially in the Mumbai circuit but then some centers of Delhi-NCR have gone up. Overall the collections are similar.## The first Friday collections will take the total collections of the film to around 37 crores mark which is a good weekend number when you consider that it's not a regular Friday-Sunday weekend but a mid-weekend of Wednesday-Friday. The film was helped by the Holi holiday on the first day though it was not a universal holiday as many circuits had a Holi holiday falling a day earlier with the Mumbai circuit being the biggest miss. ## The film already has 37 crores in its hand before the two biggest days are yet to arrive and hopefully, they record the highest single days collections going over the 15 crores mark. If this happens then the film will have a high chance of emerging as a hit film but if these two days do not fire then the film might have to settle with a non-hit tag. ## The film has been appreciated by the target audience through the repeat value of the film is not that much which can be seen by the numbers.
