Box Office: Brahmastra Races Past 300 Crores Globally

Mumbai, September 17 - Dharma Productions' Brahmastra Part One: Shiva has stormed past 300 crores at the global box office and it took just 8 days to reach the milestone. ## The Ayan Mukerji-directed fantasy action adventure film has had a record-breaking opening weekend with 214 crores worldwide. The movie outperformed negativity and scored well over the weekdays to ensure a very good first week at the box office with 290.14 crores globally for all languages. ## It was important for the movie to perform well on the second weekend, and (not so) surprisingly, it witnessed a jump of around 13% on the second Friday (normally films holds or decline going into the weekend) and this helped the movie to go past 300 crores worldwide.## "Brahmastra" has become only the second Bollywood film after "The Kashmir Files" to go past 300 crores since Ajay Devgn's "Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior" in January 2020. Overall, "Brahmastra" is the 35th Bollywood film of all time to reach this box office milestone (with inflation), and 3rd for Ranbir Kapoor. ## Produced by Dharma Productions, Starlight Pictures, and Prime Focus in association with Star Studios, the movie stars Amitabh Bachchan, Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Mouni Roy, and Nagarjuna Akkineni along with Shah Rukh Khan in key roles.## Stay tuned...

Director Ali Abbas Zafar Shares His Plans To Work With Salman Khan Again

Mumbai, September 16 - Director Ali Abbas Zafar has worked with Bollywood superstar Salman Khan in three blockbuster films that include "Sultan" (2016), "Tiger Zinda Hai" (2017), and "Bharat" (2019). The maverick filmmaker is now working on plans to collaborate with the superstar again. ## Ali Abbas Zafar was supposed to direct "Tiger 3", which is scheduled to release on April 21, 2023, however, due to his prior commitments, he couldn't direct the movie and it was Maneesh Sharma, who grabbed this mega movie. However, Abbas Zafar said he is working on a different script and will soon share it with Salman Khan. ## "Salman sir and I will come together to do a big-budget quintessential Indian entertainer. I want to do a big action film with him. It is something I am working on and I will share (the script) with him soon", the filmmaker said in an interview with PTI.## Zafar may not have been able to direct the third part of the much-awaited action-thriller "Tiger" franchise, but he is looking forward to the movie, backed by Yash Raj Films. ## "Adi (producer Aditya Chopra) is like an elder brother. When the third part of 'Tiger' was happening I had some engagements that I was committed to. Our timelines couldn’t match. But I think Maneesh, who is taking the franchise forward, will do justice to it.## "Kabir Khan, me, and now Maneesh, all of us brought our individuality to the films we made. I am looking forward to 'Tiger 3'. I think it will be very entertaining. I am happy", he added.## Meanwhile, Ali Abbas Zafar's latest directorial, "Jogi", starring Diljit Dosanjh, is currently premiering on Netflix. It is based on 1984's anti-Sikh riots. The filmmaker also has Shahid Kapoor's untitled action thriller film that is currently in pre-production work. He will also start Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff's "Bade Miyan Chote Miyan" in January 2023. ## Stay tuned...

Box Office: Brahmastra First Thursday Early Estimates

Mumbai, September 15 - Brahmastra has seen another drop in collections on the first Thursday of its box office run as the early estimate collections suggest 9 crores net in all versions. The film is seeing 15-20% drops daily which is not a good sign in long term. The first Thursday business of the film will push the entire collection to over 173cr net box office mark which is an excellent result but after the massive weekend, the film should have breached the 175cr mark easily. Overall the first week of business of Brahmastra will be the biggest for any Hindi film post-pandemic and even otherwise it will be one of the biggest outside Salman Khan starrers. The second Friday is very important for Brahmastra and the best-case scenario will be to show a drop of under 10% and eventually have good jumps over the next few days to register a healthy 2nd weekend. The hit verdict looks tough now but the film should cross the 225cr net mark. Here are Brahmastra Part One: Shiva first Thursday early estimates. ## Hindi Net: 8.50 Cr Telugu+Tamil: 0.50 Cr About This Movie This film is directed by Ayan Mukerji and produced by Dharma Productions in association with Star Studios, Prime Focus, and Starlight Pictures. Diljit Dosanjh Opens Up On The 1984 Anti-Sikh Riots

Mumbai, September 14 - Punjabi and Bollywood actor, Diljit Dosanjh is gearing up for the release of director Ali Abbas Zafar's Jogi, which is set against the background of the 1984 anti-Sikh riots that happened across the country following the assassination of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi by her Sikh bodyguards on October 31, 1984.## While promoting the film, Dosanjh spoke about India's one of the darkest chapters of history and said that it shouldn't be called a riot and should be termed genocide. In an interview with PTI, while talking about his upcoming film "Jogi", Diljit Dosanjh shared how he feels about the 1984 anti-Sikh riots. ## He said, "We should not call it riots, the right word is genocide. When there is a two-sided fight between people, then it is a riot. According to me, it should be called genocide. It is not that it happened to one or a few people. I know it happened collectively, with all of us".## "If I talk about some incidents, it will be personal. We are talking about it collectively in the film. I have been hearing about it since I was born and we are still living with it. We all have heard a lot of stories and we couldn't believe something like this can happen in life. But, anything can happen", he added.## The "Good Newwz" actor further said that even though cinema is all about entertainment, films like "Jogi" based on true facts should also be made which has been part of the dark history of India. "This is not a new story. This film (Jogi) is also talking about the same things that we have grown up listening to. Whatever has happened is there for everyone to see", he added.## "Jogi" is scheduled to premiere on Netflix on September 16. It is billed as a thrilling and emotional journey of the fighting spirit of three friends, played by Diljit, Mohd Zeeshan Ayyub, and Hiten Tejwani.## Stay tuned...

The first-week collections of 175cr net which was looking easy after the weekend look tough now though the first-week business will be very close to 175cr net in all the versions.## The overseas business which was the biggest plus of Brahmastra has also started dropping just like India. Though the overseas business by far will be the biggest for any Hindi film post-pandemic. The dubbed versions in South which started on a bumper note have now been doing average business. ## Overall Brahmastra proved to be a frontloaded weekend film that took great initial but the business is dropping daily and with such humongous costs involved you cannot expect these drops.## Here are early estimates data for the movie on its first Wednesday - ## Hindi Net: 10.00 Cr## Telugu+ Tamil Net: 0.70 Cr## India Gross: 12.60 Cr## Stay tuned...

Ayan Mukerji Reveals Basic Storyline And Sets Release Plans of 'Brahmastra Part 2: Dev'

Mumbai, September 14 - It took nearly a decade for director Ayan Mukerji to bring the first part of the planned Brahmastra trilogy to the big screen, but the second part, titled Brahmastra Part Two: Dev will be back on the big screen, faster with more love and light. ## There have already been several fan theories going on regarding the sequel after the first part left enough for the fans to keep guessing. It was released in cinemas on September 9 and smashed box office records, setting the stage perfectly for part 2 "Dev". ## Director Ayan Mukerji, in an interview with Indian Express, revealed that he has already written the script for the remaining two parts, which were completely dependent on the acceptance of part one "Shiva". Despite the mixed reviews, the movie found acceptance among the audiences which paved the way for the next film in the trilogy. ## There has not been set a release date timeline for "Brahmastra 2", but the director has planned to bring it in nearly 3 years in 2025. Ayan revealed that Part 2 will chronicle Dev's backstory as well as continue the present-day timeline. It is not yet known who will play Dev's role but rumors suggest it could be either Hrithik Roshan, Ranveer Singh, or Ranbir Kapoor. ## "I can answer very few things about Dev. The idea was to create a very clear indication of where we are going next with the storytelling. Now we are really getting into the story of our antagonist. Decoding it, giving you some hook to hang on to for part two. Dev is the fulcrum of the entire Brahmastra trilogy", Ayan said. ## According to the filmmaker, Brahmastra 2 will switch between the past and the present and showcase how Dev impacts the universe. ## "The problems that this community and the world will face because of Brahmastra, what is the real stress with it? All of this will actually unfold in Dev's story. His story is meant to take us back into his past but also he has returned to the present. So, the idea is, we will be continuing the present story, but also telling you the story of the past", he added.## Stay tuned...

It was earlier supposed to be produced by Ronnie Screwvala's RSVP Movies. "The makers are contemplating a big star to headline this project, and while they have pitched the film to 2-3 Bollywood stars, no one has come on board as yet". ## "Karna" is touted to be the ambitious project of Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra, which will be a big-screen spectacle to be made on a 200-crore budget. It will be told from the point of view of the spiritual son of Surya and a loyal friend of Duryodhana. The first part of this epic is expected to go on floors by mid-2023. ## Stay tuned...

Brahmastra First Tuesday Early Estimates; Maintains Decent Hold

Mumbai, September 13 - Brahmastra has once again shown decent hold on the first Tuesday of its box office run as the early estimate collections suggest 13-14 crores net in all the versions. The first Tuesday collections will push the entire box office collections of Brahmastra to over 154cr net mark which is a huge number and only a few films have gone over 150cr net in the first five days of the release.## The hold is good but a stronger hold would have made the chance of hitting the 175cr net mark in the first week comfortably which now looks like a stiff task. The bigger centers continue to collect well while the tier2 and tier2 cities have seen huge drops which were expected as the film is for the major city audience. Brahmastra has collected 1.10cr as per the early estimate in the Tamil+Telugu version. The dubbed version collections will set a new record.## The second Friday is very important for Brahmastra and the film should collect well to stay in the race of 250cr lifetime collections. The good thing about the film is that it has got a free run for some weeks and the next major release will be Vikram Vedha on 30th September and till then the film should see good footfalls.## Here are early estimates of Brahmastra Part One: Shiva for the first Tuesday.## Hindi: 12.00 Cr## Telugu+Tamil: 1.10 Cr## India Gross: 15.40 Cr## Stay tuned...
