Box Office: Doctor Strange 2 Tops 150 Crores Gross In India And Nears $700M Worldwide
Mumbai, May 16 - Marvel/Disney's "Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of the Madness" has completed two weekends at the Indian box office and scored a fantastic Rs 153 crores (est.) gross.## The superhero movie, directed by Sam Raimi, remained one of the first choices for the moviegoers over the first two weekends. While it completely outshined Hindi films, "Doctor Strange 2" competed with the likes of "Sarkaru Vaari Paata", and "Don" in the South belt and still managed to score some footfalls. ## The movie, starring Benedict Cumberbatch in the titular role, scored 104.69 crores net in the first week at the Indian box office and was the number 1 movie for the week all over India. During its second weekend, the sequel to 2016's movie managed to score about 15.50 crores net, pushing the total net collection to about 120 crores for all languages. It is currently the 6th highest-grossing non-domestic film in India and is likely to add a few more crores to finish around 135 crores net or 170 crores gross. ## Meanwhile, "Doctor Strange 2" is nearing $700 million at the worldwide box office. In the first two weekends, the movie has generated $688 million worldwide, including $292 million domestically (North America), and about $396 million at the overseas box office. It will top the $700 million mark by Tuesday. ## The Top 10 international markets for the movie so far are: Korea ($41.4M), the UK ($36.9M), Mexico ($31.1M), Brazil ($25.1M), India ($19.7M), Australia ($19.4M), France ($17.5M), Indonesia ($15.7M), Germany ($14.4M), Japan ($12.9M), and Italy ($12.1M).## Stay tuned...
