The event will feature a highly anticipated UFC Featherweight Championship unification bout between reigning champion Alexander Volkanovski and the interim champion, Yair Rodríguez, who also holds the distinction of being The Ultimate Fighter: Latin America featherweight winner. ##
Another major highlight of the event will be the anticipated UFC Flyweight Championship showdown between current titleholder Brandon Moreno and Alexandre Pantoja. The two had previously faced off in an exhibition bout during The Ultimate Fighter: Tournament of Champions, which Pantoja won via second-round submission. They also locked horns at UFC Fight Night: Maia vs. Usman in 2018, where Pantoja earned a unanimous decision victory. ##
In addition, a pivotal UFC Middleweight title eliminator is scheduled for the event, pitting former champion Robert Whittaker against former KSW Welterweight Champion Dricus du Plessis. The winner of this matchup will undoubtedly be in a strong position to challenge for the middleweight championship. ##
Furthermore, a lightweight bout between Jalin Turner and Dan Hooker is expected to provide a thrilling showcase of technical prowess and explosive striking. The two were previously scheduled to face off at UFC 285, but the fight was called off due to an injury suffered by Hooker. ##
Unfortunately, a flyweight bout between Deiveson Figueiredo, a former two-time UFC Flyweight Champion, and former Rizin Bantamweight Champion Manel Kape, had to be cancelled after Figueiredo was not cleared by medical officials to compete. It remains to be seen if the promotion will seek out a replacement opponent for Kape. ##
