WWE SmackDown 3/24/23 Full Review, Match Ratings, Results

With the road to WrestleMania nearing its destination, tonight's SmackDown took place from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. ## In a SmackDown event that was deemed a must-see, Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn were ambushed by The Usos on "The KO Show." Additionally, Rey Mysterio struck his son and agreed to fight him at WrestleMania, while Cody Rhodes faced off against Ludwig Kaiser, among other noteworthy occurrences. ## In the opening match, Cody Rhodes defeated Ludwig Kaiser. Charlotte Flair vowed to defeat Rhea Ripley at WrestleMania. LA Knight defeated Rey Mysterio. Natalya & Shotzi defeated Lacey Evans & Xia Li to qualify for WrestleMania Showcase Match and much more. ## "The American Nightmare" Cody Rhodes Vs Ludwig Kaiser (w/Giovanni Vinci) ## In an electrifying opening match, Cody Rhodes emerged victorious over Ludwig Kaiser. The match was centered around Rhodes risking an injury before WrestleMania, and the two wrestlers were given ample time to tell a compelling story and work at a brisk pace, with the crowd fully invested in the action.## As soon as the bell rang, the fans erupted in a thunderous "Cody" chant. Kaiser tried to gain an early advantage by backing Rhodes into the corner, but Rhodes countered with a delayed vertical suplex, holding Kaiser up in the air for an extended period of time before dropping him face-first onto the mat. As this happened, Paul Heyman made his way to ringside, adding an extra layer of intrigue to the proceedings. ## During a commercial break, Rhodes hit a superplex and seemed to be in control of the match, but Kaiser targeted Rhodes's leg, hoping to weaken him before going for the win. Rhodes fought back, taking the fight to Kaiser outside the ring and slamming him against the commentary table. However, Kaiser regained control by choking Rhodes on the middle rope and scored a two-count with a cheap shot from Vinci. ## Kaiser hit Rhodes with a sliding uppercut, but Rhodes regained momentum with a disaster kick. He set up for his signature move, the pedigree, when Solo Sikoa made his way to the ring, distracting Rhodes and allowing Kaiser to take him down with a chop block. ## Rhodes and Kaiser continued to trade blows in the center of the ring, both struggling to gain the upper hand. Rhodes managed to hit a powerful power slam for a near fall, but Imperium took advantage of a distraction caused by Vinci's jacket to launch an attack on Rhodes. The commentators missed this crucial moment, but Rhodes fought back, countering Kaiser's roll-up with a Cody cutter and finishing him off with the crossroads for the win. ## WINNER: Cody Rhodes ## MATCH RATING: ***** ## After the match, Heyman and Sikoa made their way to the ring, with Heyman apologizing to Rhodes for the way Samantha Irvin announced his victory. He then proceeded to praise Roman Reigns, further fueling speculation about Reigns's potential involvement in Rhodes's upcoming WrestleMania match. ## Heyman dismissed Rhodes as a minor obstacle on the way to Reigns facing his next challenger on Raw, Solo Sikoa. However, if Rhodes can manage to defeat Sikoa, he will earn the right to face Reigns at WrestleMania. Heyman announced that Reigns would make an appearance on SmackDown the following week to confront Rhodes in person.## Rhodes was visibly annoyed that Heyman had interrupted the fans as they sang his theme song. He took the opportunity to remind Sikoa that he wasn't ready to face him in the ring. The fans picked up on this and chanted "He's not ready" in agreement. Rhodes then confidently declared that Reigns would soon learn that he, too, was not ready to face him at WrestleMania. ## UP next was Charlotte Flair Segment ## As Flair made her way to the ring, she began to address her highly anticipated match against Rhea Ripley at WrestleMania, which is set to take place in just a week's time. Flair touched on the sensitive topic of nepotism and spoke candidly about her insecurities. Although she acknowledged that she is not immune to insecurity, she stated that she does not fear Ripley, but rather, she respects her. Flair went on to express her respect for several other notable female wrestlers, including Nikki, Brie, Sasha, Bayley, Trish, Asuka, and Ronda. ## However, the fans in attendance seemed to be less interested in Flair's words than in causing a disturbance. They began to chant "What?" repeatedly, much to Flair's annoyance. Despite her growing frustration, Flair continued to deliver her message. She spoke about the influence of her father and the impact of nepotism in the wrestling world, promising to defeat Ripley and prove that she is a worthy competitor. ## In a final bold statement, Flair declared that diamonds are forever, just like Charlotte Flair, hinting that she plans to leave a lasting impression on the wrestling world with her upcoming match at WrestleMania. ## LA Knight Vs Rey Mysterio ## Knight defeated Rey in a brief but enjoyable match. However, the real highlight came after the match when Dominik provoked Rey, yelling at his mother and sister sitting at ringside. The audience had a huge response to this angle, especially when Rey finally struck Dominik. As a result, Rey accepted Dominik's challenge for WrestleMania. ## During his entrance, Rey Mysterio embraced his wife and daughter, Aalyah, who were at ringside. The popular Las Vegas act Piff the Magic Dragon was shown sitting at ringside. ## Knight received another great reaction from the crowd. Rey initially used his speed to avoid Knight's attacks, catching him with a dropkick and a series of punches in the corner. However, Knight gained control by tossing Mysterio in the air and slamming him down. He followed up with a jumping neck breaker, which resulted in a near fall. ## The crowd erupted into a "Rey Mysterio" chant, which turned into a back-and-forth "Rey Mysterio" and "LA Knight" chant. Mysterio made a comeback and landed a sliding dropkick on Knight, followed by a baseball slide into a splash on the outside. Back in the ring, Mysterio prepared for a moonsault, but Dominik Mysterio's music played, causing Rey to become distracted. Knight capitalized on the distraction and knocked Rey off the top rope as the show went to commercial. This was similar to the spot in the Cody-Kaiser match when Solo Sikoa interrupted Rhodes. ## Knight remained in control and delivered a boot to the face of Mysterio. However, Knight missed an elbow drop, allowing Rey to hit a springboard bulldog. He followed up with a seated senton and a springboard crossbody, almost securing a pinfall. Knight executed a unique move with a running power slam, but he accidentally dropped Mysterio behind him. The fans started a "619" chant. Rey landed a DDT and set up for the 619, but Knight countered. Mysterio tried again, but Knight anticipated the move and positioned himself on the opposite side of the ring. The match ended when Dominik interfered, tripping up his father and causing Knight to pin him with a Roll-up. ## WINNER: Cody Rhodes ## MATCH RATING: *** ## After the match, Rey Mysterio agreed to face his son at WrestleMania! ## WrestleMania Showcase Qualifying Match: Natalya & Shotzi Vs Lacey Evans & Xia Li ## Raquel Gonzalez and Liv Morgan were watching the match intently from ringside. ## Jessamyn Duke and Mei Ying worked together to isolate Shotzi Blackheart on their side of the ring. Duke knocked Natalya Neidhart off the apron, leaving Blackheart with no one to tag. The heels continued to dominate the match. ## However, Shotzi made an impressive comeback against both heels. Duke accidentally hit Ying with the Women's Right. Blackheart took Duke out with a suicide dive, leaving Natalya and Shotzi to hit the Hart Attack on Ying. Natalya then locked in the Sharpshooter to secure the win. With this victory, Natalya and Shotzi earned a spot in the Women's Four-Way at WrestleMania. ## WINNERS: Natalya & Shotzi ## MATCH RATING: ** ## After the match, Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler made their way to ringside. Baszler taunted both teams and challenged them to a fight right then and there. Rousey intervened and believed that they have done enough in Las Vegas and do not need to prove anything else. Baszler then announced that they will be competing in the Women's Four-Way Showcase Match at WrestleMania 39. ## WrestleMania 39 Intercontinental Title Match Contract Signing ## Drew McIntyre made his grand entrance just before the commercial break. Upon returning from the break, Adam Pearce introduced all the participants. Sheamus, on the other hand, didn't wait for his turn and made his way into the ring with Ridge Holland and Butch. Sheamus then proceeded to talk about how McIntyre betrayed him and issued a challenge to Gunther for a title shot. McIntyre retorted by stating that they both fought hard last week, but it was Sheamus who got sensitive. McIntyre then confidently stated that he could defeat Gunther and that Sheamus couldn't. ## Just before they could engage in a brawl, Pearce intervened and convinced them to sign the contract. And just as they were about to do so, Gunther's theme music began to play, signaling his arrival. He walked down to the ring and immediately got in Pearce's face, demanding an explanation as to why he had to defend his title against both McIntyre and Sheamus. However, Gunther eventually signed the contract and vowed to beat not just McIntyre and Sheamus, but also Holland and even Butch. Butch was fired up from the moment he arrived at ringside and ended up losing his cool, jumping over the table onto Gunther. Sheamus and Holland were quick to intervene and pull Butch off, while Gunther angrily berated Pearce. ## Intercontinental Champion Gunther Vs Butch ## The match had already begun during the commercial break with Gunther starting off strong by delivering a brutal kick to Butch's head, followed by a rough slam and a sickening chop. Butch attempted to fight back but was easily overpowered by Gunther who hit a suplex and rocked him with forearm shots. Despite Butch trying to absorb the shots, Gunther destroyed him with a hard chop.## Butch then tried to go for an arm bar, but Gunther quickly reversed it into a Boston crab, and then transitioned into a cross-face. Butch attempted to attack Gunther's fingers to break free, but Gunther responded with another chop. Although Butch managed to fight back with an enziguri, Gunther quickly recovered and delivered another chop, sending Butch reeling.## Gunther then placed Butch on the corner and stepped on his head, causing Butch to fall to the ringside and hit the stairs. When the show returned from commercial break, Gunther attempted to continue his dominance by delivering the ten beats of the bodhran, but Butch managed to fight back. Gunther then locked in a sleeper hold, but Butch broke free with a kick to the back. The fans even started a brief and faint "Bruiserweight" chant.## Butch attempted a moonsault but missed, landing on his feet. Gunther once again rocked Butch with another chop, sending him crashing into the announce table. Meanwhile, McIntyre, Sheamus, and Gunther faced off at ringside, and Gunther took advantage of the distraction to hit the last symphony on Butch for the win. ## WINNER: GUNTHER ### MATCH RATING: *** ## After the match, Gunther celebrated in the ring while McIntyre and Sheamus continued to brawl outside. The KO Show with Sami Zayn ## In an explosive ending to SmackDown, Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn stole the show with a surprise appearance ahead of WrestleMania next week. Owens made his entrance to a huge ovation, followed by Zayn to an even bigger reception with the crowd chanting his name. Owens began by accusing Zayn of wanting his own entrance to get a bigger reaction from the fans, which Zayn denied. ## Zayn spoke about their long-lasting friendship and their chance to take the tag team titles from The Usos at WrestleMania. Owens then presented Zayn with a special "KO-Mania" t-shirt, but with a twist. The front of the shirt now read "Wrestle-Zayn-ia," which delighted Zayn. ## After sharing a hug, The Usos ambushed Owens and Zayn, sparking a massive brawl to end the show. The Usos' attack on the beloved duo earned them a chorus of boos from the crowd. ## To stay updated with all the latest combat sports news, add Sacnilk.com to your Google News feeds and follow us on Twitter.

However, Fox soon retaliated with some fast and dynamic moves of his own. Christian then tagged in and used his speed to gain the upper hand on Daivari. He hit a springboard crossbody on Daivari, but was later sent into the corner where he was beaten down by the Trustbusters. ## The Trustbusters continued to work over Christian until Metalik got the tag and fired up against Daivari. He even walked the ropes before hitting a splash for a two-count. However, Daivari eventually sent Metalik to the floor and slammed him ribs first into the apron. The Trustbusters then continued their assault on Metalik, but he managed to hit a handspring elbow on Kay. Daivari cut off a tag attempt before taking a springboard elbow. ## Fox eventually got the hot tag and fired up against all three Trustbusters with his impressive cutters. He even used Kay as a base to hit a dive on Daivari and Slim J on the floor. Christian followed up with a twisting dive to the floor, taking out all three men. Blue picked up the pace and unleashed a flurry of offense, culminating in a spinning ground kick for a nearfall. Frost executed a cartwheel into an Air Raid Crash for a nearfall, but Blue cut her off on a moonsault attempt and hit a high crossbody for another nearfall. Blue finished off the match with the Skyfall to secure the win. ## WINNER: Skye Blue ## MATCH RATING: * ## La Faccion Ingobernable (Dralistico & Rush) (w/Jose The Assistant) Vs The Foundation (Rhett Titus & Tracy Williams) ## The match began with LFI rejecting the Code of Honor and immediately attacking Titus and Williams, resulting in a chaotic brawl. Rush and Dralistico took advantage of the situation and focused on Williams, with Dralistico executing a hurricane kick to take him down. Williams endured a lot of punishment, but eventually managed to hit a crotch-lift suplex on Dralistico and tag in Titus. ## Titus and Rush engaged in a fierce forearm battle, with Titus gaining the upper hand and hitting a pair of yakuza kicks. Williams joined in for some tandem offense, and Titus pinned Rush, with Dralistico accidentally falling on the pile as he tried to break up the pin. The action continued with everyone taking each other out, culminating in Williams spearing Rush out of a Bull's Horns attempt. ## Rush then suplexed Titus into the corner, and Dralistico dove onto Williams on the outside. Rush finished off the match by hitting the Bull's Horns dropkick in the corner, with the crowd enthusiastically finishing his catchphrase "Mess with the bull, you get the horns," for the win. ## WINNER: La Faccion Ingobernable (Dralistico & Rush) (w/Jose The Assistant) ## MATCH RATING: **## Matt Taven (w/Maria Kanellis-Bennett & Mike Bennett) Vs Darius Martin ## WINNER: Matt Taven (w/Maria Kanellis-Bennett & Mike Bennett) ## MATCH RATING: **## Brian Cage (w/Bishop Kaun, Prince Nana & Toa Liona) Vs Tony Deppen ## Deppen landed a couple of slaps on Cage as he bounced around him, but Cage caught him with a superkick before executing an outside-in superplex. Cage maintained control of Deppen, but took time to toy with him. However, Deppen slipped from Cage’s grip and hit a lungblower out of the corner. He followed it up with a cannonball dive to the floor and running knees to the face. ## Deppen then hit a double stomp off the top rope for a nearfall. Cage avoided a Shining Wizard but hit a rebound lariat. Deppen caught Cage with a small package and got a jumping knee in before Cage shut him down with a Drillclaw for the win. After the match, The Embassy beat down Deppen before Metalik, Blake Christian, & AR Fox came out with weapons to avenge the attack earlier. ## WINNER: Brian Cage ## MATCH RATING: *## Shane Taylor (w/JD Griffey) Vs Silas Young ## The crowd rallied behind Taylor as the match began and the men locked up. Taylor took down Young with a shoulder block, but Young quickly retaliated by hanging Taylor up on the ropes. They exchanged forearms before Taylor sent Young to the floor with a heavy elbow strike. However, Taylor missed a legdrop on the apron, allowing Young to hit him with a knee that sent him crashing to the floor. ## Young continued to work on Taylor, keeping him on the mat with elbow drops. He taunted Taylor, but Taylor managed to catch him with a crucifix pin for a nearfall. Taylor then went on the offensive, catching Young with a knee strike and a Sky High for a nearfall. Young dodged the package piledriver and hit Taylor with a spinning knee. He then tried to execute the rolling slam, but missed the Pee Gee Waja Plunge. Taylor seized the opportunity and hit Young with a running knee before planting him with the Package Piledriver for the victory. ## WINNER: Shane Taylor ## MATCH RATING: *** ## Billie Starkz Vs Miranda Alize ## WINNER: Billie Starkz ## MATCH RATING: ** ## Aussie Open (Kyle Fletcher & Mark Davis) Vs Christopher Daniels & Matt Sydal ## Daniels and Sydal seemed to have the advantage, given all the flying that Aussie Open has been doing between the US and Japan. Sydal and Fletcher started, with Sydal catching Fletcher with a rollup for a two-count. Daniels came in, but Fletcher quickly slammed him down and tagged out to Davis. Davis laid in chops to Daniels, but Daniels tripped him into the corner before landing a lariat to the back of the head. ## Daniels and Sydal double-teamed Davis, with Sydal throwing Daniels up and over onto Davis before landing a standing moonsault. Daniels went for a sunset flip on Davis, but Fletcher got a blind tag. They took out both Daniels and Sydal before crashing them into each other on the outside. ## Aussie Open worked on Daniels, with Davis starting a vertical suplex before passing him off to Fletcher. CM Punk Claims He Wasn't Fully Cleared To Wrestle When He Did The First Match

In a now-deleted Instagram post, CM Punk criticized Tony Khan, Chris Jericho, and other AEW stars. Earlier today, Dave Meltzer took to the Wrestling Observer message boards, sharing information regarding the booking of CM Punk and Jon Moxley’s match heading into last year’s All Out pay-per-view. ## Meltzer noted the following: ## Do you know why they didn’t advertise Punk vs. Moxley longer and why it had a short build? Because Punk agreed to it, then AEW got a legal letter saying he wasn’t down with it and wasn’t doing it and they didn’t know if he’d come until Tony put his foot down. There are a lot of nice things I can say about him, and you can absolutely argue his position on Moxley was correct, but you can’t argue he willingly did what he was asked in that scenario. ## After Dave Meltzer made a claim on the Wrestling Observer message boards, CM Punk responded by posting on his Instagram stories, in which he criticized the company, Tony Khan, Chris Jericho, and others. However, the post was swiftly deleted. ## SIGH. I wasn’t cleared to come back to wrestle yet. Then plan was to wrestle at the ppv. I sat and listened to moxleys Rocky three idea. I explained how I’d never seen a Rocky movie.I and thought the idea sucked but if the boss wanted to do it whatever. He said he wouldn’t lose to me. I’d never experienced someone refusing to lose to me. I just laughed. I asked Tony if this was what he wanted. He said yes. He’s the boss so I said okay but I’d need to be cleared first. They kept saying it could just be a squash se l didn’t need to be cleared. I scoffed at that. My health i more important. Dave Meltzer is a liar. Jericho is a liar and a stooge. There were plans but plans always change but I’ll never put a company above my health ever again. ## Later, Chrish Jericho also took to Instagram and shared the following story: ## Chris Jericho just posted this after CM Punk’s Instagram post. pic.twitter.com/GC0gBINykP— Wrestling News (@WrestlingNewsCo) March 23, 2023 ## At Double or Nothing last year, CM Punk won the AEW World Championship by defeating Hangman Adam Page. However, he got injured on the following week's episode of Dynamite. Before the All Out pay-per-view, Jon Moxley and CM Punk were slated to have a championship match. Moxley surprisingly defeated Punk in a quick match to become the new champion. ## Their final match took place at All Out, where Punk regained the title, but he suffered a triceps injury during the match. ## To stay updated with all the latest combat sports news, add Sacnilk.com to your Google News feeds and follow us on Twitter.

Predicting The Complete WWE WrestleMania 39 Match Card: Roman Vs. Cody Rhodes

Predicting The Complete WWE WrestleMania 39 Match Card: Roman Vs. Cody Rhodes

The upcoming WrestleMania 39, scheduled to be held over two nights on April 1 and 2, 2023, at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California, will be broadcast worldwide on pay-per-view (PPV) and livestreamed via Peacock in the United States and the WWE Network internationally. ## The headline bout of the evening will showcase Roman Reigns defending his coveted WWE universal championship against Cody Rhodes, who emerged as the victor of the Royal Rumble. Reigns, an accomplished six-time world champion, has maintained his hold on the championship for nearly two and a half years. In the meantime, Rhodes made a comeback to the WWE during last year's WrestleMania after his instrumental role in launching rival wrestling promotion, All Elite Wrestling. ## WrestleMania 39 will also witness the Raw women's title match between Asuka, the winner of the women's Elimination Chamber match in February, and Bianca Belair. Charlotte Flair will put her SmackDown women's title on the line, contending with Rhea Ripley who earned her shot at the championship by winning the women's Royal Rumble in January. ## Adding to the excitement, two other high-profile matches will feature on the event card. The Intercontinental title match will be a triple threat involving Gunther, Drew McIntyre, and Sheamus. Meanwhile, The Usos will defend their undisputed tag team titles against Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens. ## Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns vs. Cody Rhodes ## After his triumph over 29 other Superstars in the 2023 Royal Rumble Match, Cody Rhodes is now presented with the opportunity to realize his lifelong dream as he challenges the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns on the grandest stage of all. ## Reigns, who is widely regarded as one of the most dominant World Champions in history, is currently enjoying a legendary title reign, having emerged victorious in epic battles against illustrious opponents such as Brock Lesnar, John Cena, Kevin Owens, Drew McIntyre, and many more. As he presides over The Bloodline with an iron grip on The Island of Relevancy, The Head of the Table stands armed with a brutal arsenal and appears to be unstoppable. ## In contrast, Rhodes is a Superstar who refused to be defeated, making it clear that his sole focus upon his return to WWE was to become the WWE Champion. Despite suffering a gruesome pectoral injury, Rhodes persevered and managed to triumph over Seth "Freakin" Rollins in a Hell in a Cell Match. After taking some time to rehabilitate, The American Nightmare made a successful return by winning the Royal Rumble, setting his sights on toppling Reigns and finally capturing the most coveted prize in WWE. ## WINNER PREDICTION: Roman Reigns ## United States Champion Austin Theory vs. John Cena ## At this year's WrestleMania, fans will have the chance to witness a clash between John Cena and Austin Theory for the United States Championship. ## Despite his outspoken and ultra-confident attitude, there's no denying that Theory has proven himself to be a formidable competitor. He's risen quickly through the ranks to become Mr. Money in the Bank, a two-time U.S. Champion, and most recently, he emerged victorious against five other challengers inside the Elimination Chamber to retain his title. It was in this vein that Theory approached Cena during his return to Monday Night Raw, offering him the "gift" of a U.S. Title match at The Show of Shows.## Initially, the Leader of the Cenation emphatically declined the offer, taking the opportunity to verbally decimate Theory by explaining that the WWE Universe won't believe in him unless he believes in himself. Cena went on to say that the current champion is not yet ready to face him at WrestleMania because he lacks the necessary drive and determination. However, when Theory attempted to belittle Cena and win over the crowd, Cena reluctantly agreed to the match, making it clear that regardless of the outcome, there's no way Theory can come out on top against him on The Grandest Stage of Them All. ## WINNER PREDICTION: John Cena ## Seth "Freakin" Rollins vs. Logan Paul ## Tension between Rollins and Paul had been simmering for a while. It all started when the viral sensation made some controversial remarks on social media that did not sit well with The Visionary. As a consequence, Rollins seized the mic to voice his frustration. Matters only escalated when Logan eliminated Rollins from the 2023 Royal Rumble Match and later attacked Rollins at WWE Elimination Chamber, costing him the United States Title. In the weeks that followed, Rollins unleashed his anger on The Miz, and even "borrowed" The A-Lister's phone to challenge Paul to a face-to-face confrontation on Raw. ## When they finally stood face-to-face for a verbal showdown, Logan Paul refused to engage in a brawl with The Visionary right then and there. Instead, he proposed a clash against Rollins at WrestleMania. Before an agreement was reached, a physical altercation erupted, resulting in Logan Paul knocking out Seth Rollins with one devastating punch. ## WINNER PREDICTION: Seth Rollins ## SmackDown Women's Champion Charlotte Flair vs Rhea Ripley ## Rhea Ripley, the triumphant winner of the Royal Rumble, is set for a chance at redemption when she takes on the reigning SmackDown Women’s Champion, Charlotte Flair, at WrestleMania.## Ripley's victory at the Royal Rumble was nothing short of spectacular, as she entered the match as the first participant and went on to endure a grueling 61 minutes and eight seconds, eventually eliminating the second entrant, Liv Morgan, to emerge victorious. Ripley's triumph was even more impressive considering she had been Speared earlier in the evening by WWE Hall of Famer Beth Phoenix.## The following night on Raw, Ripley announced that she would be challenging her fierce rival, Flair.## The Queen and The Nightmare have a storied, albeit one-sided, history, as Ripley has yet to defeat Flair. Three years ago, the roles were reversed, as Flair won the 2020 Women's Royal Rumble Match before challenging then-NXT Women's Champion Ripley at WrestleMania 36. Ripley fell to Flair on that night and has not been able to claim victory against her since.## With The Judgment Day by her side, "Mami" is in the best position to dethrone The Queen. Ripley is a vastly different competitor than she was three years ago, and her recent run of dominance suggests that she may very well emerge victorious. ## WINNER PREDICTION: Rhea Ripley ## Undisputed WWE Tag Team Champions The Usos vs. Sami Zayn & Kevin Owens ## The future of the WWE Tag Team titles, and potentially The Bloodline itself, will be decided in a highly-anticipated showdown between the Undisputed Champions, The Usos, and the reunited brothers-in-arms, Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens, on the grandest stage of them all.#### This matchup would have been completely impossible just a month and a half earlier when Sami Zayn was firmly aligned with The Bloodline as the "Honorary Uce." In contrast, Kevin Owens had been waging a one-man crusade against the dominant faction. However, at Royal Rumble, Zayn refused to join a post-match attack against Owens and instead struck Roman Reigns with a steel chair.## Despite Zayn's change of heart, Owens initially wanted nothing to do with him and insisted on battling The Bloodline alone. Despite Cody Rhodes' tireless attempts to reunite them, KO still resisted. It wasn't until Owens charged in to save Zayn from a 2-on-1 Uso attack that the two embraced and were reunited. On the following Raw, the powerful resistance challenged the historic titleholders, with Jey Uso overruling his brother Jimmy to emphatically accept. ## WINNER PREDICTION: The Usos ## Raw Women's Champion Bianca Belair vs. Asuka ## Bianca Belair's exceptional athleticism and incredible strength have been evident since her first match in the ring. As the current Raw Women's Champion, she has proven herself to be a worthy and resilient champion, having defeated every challenger, including the likes of Becky Lynch, Bayley, and Alexa Bliss. But the question is, can she handle the challenge of facing Asuka? ## Asuka, who is currently at the peak of her abilities, combines a formidable array of offensive moves with an unpredictable nature. She outlasted a formidable field of competitors, including Liv Morgan, Nikki Cross, Raquel Rodriguez, Carmella, and Natalya, inside the high-stakes Elimination Chamber to earn the coveted opportunity to challenge Bianca Belair for the Raw Women's Title at WrestleMania, where only one woman will come out on top. ## WINNER PREDICTION: Asuka ## Trish Stratus, Lita & Becky Lynch vs. Damage CTRL (Six-Woman Tag Team Match) ## The rivalry between Becky Lynch and Damage CTRL has been ongoing for quite some time, but it was on the Feb. 20 edition of Raw when The Man made a significant move. During an episode of "Ding Dong Hello!", Big Time Becks interrupted and challenged Bayley's cohorts SKY & Kai to a match for their WWE Women's Tag Team Titles. When The Role Model asked about Lynch's partner, WWE Hall of Famer Lita appeared to team up with her. In a high-stakes match the following week, Trish Stratus made a surprise appearance to help Lynch & Lita defeat the meddling Bayley and capture the championship gold! ## One week later on Raw, the six Superstars had a confrontation, and when Bayley tried to mock Trish Stratus, the WWE Hall of Famer proposed that she and the new champions face Damage CTRL in a Six-Woman Tag Team Match at The Show of Shows to get some Stratusfaction. # WINNER PREDICTION: Damage CTRL (Six-Woman Tag Team Match) ## Brock Lesnar vs. Omos ## At WrestleMania 39, "The Beast Incarnate" Brock Lesnar and "The Nigerian Giant" Omos will finally face each other after months of wreaking havoc in the WWE. Omos and his partner MVP issued the challenge to Lesnar on a recent episode of Monday Night Raw, hoping to settle the score and determine who truly reigns as the most dominant force in the WWE. ## Having MVP in his corner, Omos has methodically demolished nearly every opponent he has faced, leaving a trail of destruction in his wake. In contrast, Lesnar is still reeling from one of the most grueling battles of his career against "The All Mighty" Bobby Lashley. ## WINNER PREDICTION: Brock Lesnar ## Edge vs. Finn Bálor (Hell in a Cell Match) ## WINNER PREDICTION: Edge ## Intercontinental Champion Gunther vs. Drew McIntyre vs. Sheamus (Triple Threat Match)## WINNER PREDICTION: Gunther ## Four explosive tag teams to compete in a Men's WrestleMania Showcase Match ## In one of two WrestleMania Showcase matches at the Grandest Stage of Them All, four of the most impressive tag teams in WWE will collide in a Fatal 4-Way Tag Team Match. The Street Profits, Braun Strowman & Ricochet, Alpha Academy, and The Viking Raiders will battle in Los Angeles at the Showcase of the Immortals. Each of the four teams has recently had opportunities at the WWE Undisputed Tag Team Titles, with three of the teams having held tag team gold. ## However, with Otis of Alpha Academy starting his modeling career with Maximum Male Models, it remains to be seen how cohesive Alpha Academy will be against the other teams. The Viking Raiders, who may be the most dominant team out of the four, will also be making their WrestleMania debuts, raising the stakes for Erik and Ivar. ## WINNER PREDICTION: The Street Profits ## To stay updated with all the latest combat sports news, add Sacnilk.com to your Google News feeds and follow us on Twitter.

Kenny Omega Comments On His Match Against El Hijo del Vikingo

A highly-anticipated dream match took place on the March 22 edition of AEW Dynamite, as Omega squared off against AAA Mega Champion El Hijo del Vikingo. ## The encounter was originally scheduled to happen in 2021 when Omega held the AAA Mega Championship, but he was forced to relinquish the title due to injuries and spent several months recovering. Steve Austin: 'It Would Have Been Great To Have A Match With John Cena'

Following his almost two-decade hiatus, Steve Austin made a triumphant return to the ring at WrestleMania 38, where he emerged victorious in the main event of night one against Kevin Owens. Austin, who was one of the biggest stars of the Attitude Era, departed from wrestling at a time when it was transitioning into the Ruthless Aggression Era, which was spearheaded by John Cena. ## Although the careers of Austin and Cena never intersected in the ring, Austin was queried about the possibility of facing off against Cena during an interview with Ryan Satin on Out of Character. ## Working with him would have been a real highlight, and I've had a bunch of highlights. It would have been a real special thing. There is something about John. People are so invested in his matches. He's a very special talent. It would have been great to have a match with him. Will it ever happen? No. I think very highly of John and I love him," he said. ## Asked if he ever considered returning to face Cena, Austin replied, "No, not really. Names have always been tossed around in conversation and stuff like that. I said I was never going to really wrestle again, unless, because you never say never, unless the stars aligned properly. They did to work with KO [Kevin Owens] in Dallas, so we did that. It wasn't really put out, 'it's going to be a highly competitive match.' You weren't expecting us to go 30 minutes. I think we exceeded the expectations and it worked for that time and place. I'm good." ## To stay updated with all the latest combat sports news, add Sacnilk.com to your Google News feeds and follow us on Twitter.
