Sammy Guevara Hypes His Upcoming Match Against Jon Moxley

Tony Khan took down AEW World Champion CM Punk over the controversy following All Out. At the same time, Khan announced the Grand Slam tournament of champions to determine the new AEW World Champion. Now Sammy Guevara is taking this seriously because he knows he has to win the AEW Championship and is preparing for it.## Sammy Guevara and Darby Allin Hull made it to the second round of the tournament during the recent rampage. Tay Melo and Anna Jay intervened during the match which resulted in the match being handed over to the Spanish Gods and secured an easy win.## Guevara posted a photo of his upcoming match against Jon Moxley on Twitter on Saturday, along with some captions that show his confidence for victory. Tommaso Ciampa was definitely one of the best things about NXT throughout his time in the developmental brand. He had participated in quite a few solid fights, most notably involving his eternal friend Johnny Gargano, who is now his rival.## The former NXT champion has achieved everything that an NXT wrestler wants to get from the company. Ciampa spoke about his retirement from pro wrestling, saying he would retire from pro wrestling if he was ever called on the main roster due to a busy schedule. However, he is clearly an active part of the WWE main roster at the present time.## Speaking with Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful, Ciampa explains the reasons behind changing his mind about the main roster call-up.## “I get asked this all the time. Having a successful neck surgery, huge factor. Going into that and having the pain I had for as long as I had. I always felt like, ‘Your career’s ending soon,’ and now I don’t feel that way. Now I feel like, ‘Oh, you might have just finished the first half of your career.’ I’ve learned how to wrestle with it and I’m not in pain. ## Having a child, having the pandemic happen and spending three years with her at home and having that time, and now she’s at the point she’s with me right now at SummerSlam. A lot has changed. My life has changed. My maturity has changed. The opportunities are exciting to me. There’s a lot of new opponents for me to face. It’s hard to put it on one thing.## Ciampa has teamed up with The Miz for the past few months on Monday Night Raw, in which they have also shown the face of defeat to AJ Styles and Mustafa Ali. We'll have to see what the company has in store for them in the future.## The way I take care of my body, I just feel like, ‘Oh, shoot. okay, I’m 37. If I go ’til 55, I’m at the halfway point. We’ve got a long ways to go.## “It’s the same concept. He’s got some neck issues, too, like everybody else that wrestles. You just learn. We got a cool medical team, too. They’re great, dude. You get those people who are helping you with the strength and conditioning, guys like Coach Hayes and [Ty-rai], who’s a PT. Tony Ferguson Full Fight ## First Round: Diaz comes out with a slap, but Ferguson quickly brushes her back. There is no feeling-out process here. Ferguson's spinning attack isn't close. Diaz ends Round 1 with a short combo. ## Round 2: Diaz with a sweet set-up to land a hard outside leg kick. Ferguson snaps his right hand through Diaz's defense. Diaz follows and Ferguson clips him with a jab. Diaz is throwing that jab with confidence. Ferguson defends against a combination. Ferguson now looks loose and re-lands his right hand. ## Diaz from straight left. Ferguson catches a leg and scores from the right. As Diaz moves forward, he hits an inside leg kick. Diaz is going headhunting now. Ferguson is having trouble with his right eye being amputated. Ninety seconds left and Diaz begins to turn it on again.Overhand left by Diaz. Diaz scores with a combination. Ferguson wants to stay in the pocket, but Diaz circling and using his range. ## Round 3: Ferguson tries to support Diaz with kicks, but Diaz continues to lean forward looking for punches. A hard Diaz reaction is found inside the leg kick. He turns away and Ferguson stands in the middle of the octagon, pointing at an imaginary clock. He flops on his back while taunting Diaz. Goddard tells Diaz to return to the center and continue the fight. ## Diaz hits Ferguson with a hard leg kick. Diaz smiles and breathes against the cage. It got real weird real fast. Over leg kick from Ferguson. Ferguson procrastinates. Diaz turns to Ferguson and starts yelling at someone on the side of the cage. ## Diaz getting damaged with a body kick. He bows down and invites Ferguson to attack him. Ferguson didn't look as relaxed as he did a few minutes ago. A jab lands for Ferguson. Diaz throws over the head and it's another strong ending for him, albeit an incredibly awkward round. ## Round 4: Ferguson goes back into the body with a kick. He dives for an ankle pick and Diaz just steps away from it. Body kicks by Diaz in the front. Ferguson finds success with a jab and he chases down with an inside leg kick. Before he runs out, Ferguson punches the shovel off the ground. ## At the right signal, Diaz connects with a hard shot and Ferguson has to back down. Several punches land for Diaz. Ferguson is just fighting to stay away from the cage. He hit Diaz on the body with a left hook. Diaz punches Ferguson in the body, then goes back to the head.
